The Islamic Republic’s president admits the United States wants regime change, not negotiations.
Meeting Armenia’s foreign minister on October 5, Masoud Pezeshkian said the American objective is “to overthrow the Islamic Republic of Iran.” His message to the regime’s supporters is stark: he believes the confrontation is now about the survival of the system itself.
But Pezeshkian presents that system as an innocent victim while leaving out the threat it poses. The Islamic Republic has spent decades funding terrorist groups, taking hostages and building armed networks to attack American interests and regional allies. It has also massacred Iranians at home, putting the January crackdown’s death toll above 45,000. The United States identifies it as the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism.
The scale of the military threat is enormous. CENTCOM says regional air defences intercepted more than 1,500 ballistic missiles and over 6,000 attack drones aimed at U.S. forces, Israel and Arab partners during Operation Epic Fury. Those are interceptions, not the full launch count.
Iranian strikes also damaged or destroyed hundreds of structures at American bases across the region. This is a regime with the weapons, networks and willingness to threaten American personnel and allied infrastructure far beyond Iran’s borders.
That is why a nuclear agreement alone cannot resolve the threat. It does not dismantle the Revolutionary Guard’s foreign operations, Hezbollah, the Houthis or the missile forces used against neighbouring countries. Leaving those instruments intact gives the regime the means to continue coercion and violence.
Pezeshkian wants the world to see a government being unfairly targeted. His own admission exposes the leadership’s fear: pressure is threatening the survival of a system that has made terror and regional destabilisation central to its power.

Trump: ‘Threat’ Forced U.S. Bombers from UK — Vows Iran Will ‘Suffer Greatly’ over Any Combat Drone Plot
Israel provided Britain with intelligence warning of what Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described as an “Iranian-sponsored attack.”

President Donald Trump said Monday that a threat linked to Iran prompted the United States to pull its B-1 bombers from RAF Fairford in Britain, warning Tehran would “suffer greatly” over any combat drone plot as reports revealed fears of an IRGC-ordered attack targeting the strategic aircraft and American personnel.
The United States abruptly evacuated roughly a dozen B-1s from Fairford on Sunday amid urgent concerns about a “potentially complex drone attack” ordered by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing U.S. and European officials briefed on the threat.
US President Donald Trump tells reporters that the country faces a choice to either make a deal with Iran or “blow them up”.
US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has told military leaders at the Quantico Marine base outside Washington, DC, that American forces have “destroyed” Iran’s navy, air force, defence systems, leadership and military-industrial capacity, while also crippling its nuclear ambitions.
Iran says it has received a US counterproposal regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz as part of diplomatic efforts to break the deadlock over the ongoing conflict.
‘Who is better to rise as a secret proxy for Iran than al-Qaeda?’
Although violent sectarianism are as old as Islam itself, the goal of defeating the common infidel enemy persists, and, of course, America is the archenemy of both al-Qaeda and Iran. Take the example of Saudi Arabia: This ostensible ally of the United States also allied with Muslim Brotherhood offshoot Hamas….
