Independent NSW MP Mark Latham has labelled embattled Premier Chris Minns his “bitch” after the Labor leader lashed out at him while under increasing pressure from an upper house inquiry into his controversial hate speech laws.

New South Wales Premier Chris Minns’ staffers are facing arrest after failing to front an inquiry into whether he “misled” parliament about a fake anti-Semitic terror plot in order to pass hate speech laws.

Mr Minns and Police Minister Yasmin Catley have both refused to appear before an upper house committee chaired by independent MP Rod Roberts examining the passing of the controversial Labor legislation, which the Premier rammed through parliament in February after lobbying from the Jewish community.

The laws were supported by the Opposition, and Liberal leader Mark Speakman then refused to help minor party MPs repeal them after a caravan full of explosives used by Mr Minns to justify the legislation was revealed to be a “criminal con job” by police. The ultra-liberal and Euro-fanatic Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk – like most European leaders – has a big immigration problem in his hands.

Today, Tusk announced that Poland will introduce temporary controls on its borders with Germany and Lithuania starting on July 7.

This decision comes as criticism of his lax border protection actions is mounting, and ‘citizen patrols’ are starting to form in the border with Germany to prevent the migrant ‘invasion’.

“Tusk warned Monday that his country would reimpose checks on the Polish-German border if it found that Germany was sending irregular migrants to Poland, Lithuanian media reported. He also said his country would take measures to prevent illegal border crossings from the Lithuanian side, as Poland had ‘a lot of effort, money, sweat and, unfortunately, some blood, to make the eastern border with Belarus airtight’.”

A landmark truth-telling inquiry’s push to compensate Indigenous Victorians for historical injustices has not been ruled out by the Premier despite warnings it could bankrupt the state.

After a four-year truth-telling inquiry, The Yoorrook Justice Commission delivered its final report to the Victoria state parliament on Tuesday.

The Australian-first Indigenous truth-telling body calls on the Victorian government to provide redress for injustices.

Among the proposals is a statewide redress scheme, including financial compensation for Indigenous Victorians.

Some of the recommendations include a public formal apology, recognising Indigenous groups as separate nations and for Indigenous people to be be exempt from taxes, rates, levies and be given access to revenue from natural resources and Crown land
