The magic number that proves the Gaza casualties are fake. “At least 81 Palestinians have been killed” in 24 hours in Gaza, the BBC reported on June 28, 2025, citing the “the Hamas-run health ministry”. There was nothing extraordinary about this at first glance beyond the way that the media had become comfortable building stories around claims from an Islamic terrorist group.

Why 81 dead? Perhaps that seemingly random number is how many people were really killed.

Wave of antisemitic attacks creates ‘simmering rage’ in Jewish community

Executive Council of Australian Jewry Co-CEO Alex Ryvchin says there’s a “simmering rage” in the Jewish community after recent antisemitic attacks in Melbourne.

“It’s an atrocity, it’s a horrific thing to have members of the Jewish community in their place of worship … and to have someone try to burn the place down,” Mr Ryvchin told Sky News Australia.

“It makes me furious, and there’s a simmering rage in the Jewish community at the moment.”

A man has been charged after a Melbourne synagogue was set alight with more than a dozen people inside.

The 34-year-old man entered the grounds of the synagogue on Albert Street at 8pm on Friday, police said.

If it wasn’t bad enough that Israel was pushed into a premature ceasefire with Iran, now Trump wants another ceasefire with Hamas.

Under the terms of his “ceasefire” deal, eight hostages would be freed on Day 1, and two more on Day 50. The bodies of 18 deceased would be returned in three phases across the two-month ceasefire. In exchange for these hostages, Israel would release 125 Palestinian prisoners in addition to 1,111 Gazans that Israel had arrested after October 7 – people who, in some way physically attacked or committed some crime against IDF forces.

In other words, Trump expects Israel to stand down even though a further 13 living hostages will have no release date and 9 families will be left waiting to bury their loved ones.

An East Melbourne Synagogue was set on fire when a jihadi entered the synagogue grounds on Albert Street about 8pm, poured a flammable liquid on the front door, and ignited it before fleeing on foot.

About 20 worshippers, including children inside having dinner at the time were forced to flee the building.

Then a group of Jew-haters terrorized shocked diners by storming a restaurant in Melbourne as the arsonist targeted the nearby synagogue.

The chaotic scenes unfolded at the Jewish-owned Miznon eatery on Hardware Lane, where up to 20 protesters hurled chairs, food, and glassware at the venue while chanting ‘Death to the IDF (Israel Defence Forces)’.

Mamdani: “Policing is something that does not create safety”

As for his claim that white people need to be taxed more, again this is pure “decolonization” bunkum.

All recent studies show other racial groups exceeding the earnings of white Americans in this country.

In fact the two groups which nationwide exceed the earnings of white Americans are Asian Americans and, er, Indian Americans.

I wouldn’t put it past Mamdani to attack these groups as well in due course.

After all, the only sectarian politicking which Mamdani is keener on than antisemitism is his anti-Indian sentiment.

Mamdani is one of those sectarian politicians who is never happier than when accusing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being a “war criminal.”

Modi is one of the international leaders who Mamdani has said he would like to ban from coming to New York.

But it isn’t his grandstanding on the world stage that is his biggest drawback.

Rather it is his incompetence and wishful thinking on the home front.

After all, this city has been run by left-wing politicians for a long time.

If you think the city is unequal, unfair and just begging for more left-wing policies, then why have these policies to date provided such terrible results?

A sensible voter might conclude that it is because left-wing policies don’t work.

A naïve voter might be persuaded that it’s because they haven’t been tried enough, and conclude that what New York needs to thrive is for the rich to be chased out and everyone else to be given free stuff.

There are 5 million voters in this city.

The only way that Mamdani can win is if the only people who come out to vote are the minority of New Yorkers who are as delusional as he is.
