This week in Parliament, I’ll be moving for the Senate to support an inquiry into much-needed reforms to our flawed native title system. Back in the early 1990s, around 14.22% of Australian land was under native title. Fast forward to 2016, and that number has jumped to over 30%, with another 31% pending.
 
This means we could soon see more than 60% of Australia under native title, with no end date for additional claims in sight. I’ve previously put forward a motion to introduce a sunset clause, but it was voted down.
 
The question remains: How can less than 3% of the population end up owning over 60% of the land under native title, especially when some Aboriginal people already own freehold land? Meanwhile, the rest of Australia is left to compromise, facing restrictions on land access and resource use.
 
We need to ask tough questions: What has native title actually achieved for the country and for Indigenous Australians? The land is tied up, and in many cases, even Indigenous people can’t own or access it.
 
This situation cannot continue unchecked. On top of this, the Prime Minister needs to come clean on his plans for the so-called “Truth and Justice Commission,” also referred to as the “Makarrata Commission.” One Nation does not support this secretive Makarrata Commission, and the people deserve to know if Albanese plans to push forward with this radical proposal, which was strongly rejected by the public when they voted down his divisive Voice.
 
It’s clear to me that this is part of a larger agenda, one that aims to create a separate black state within our nation. I’ve been fighting for equality for all Australians for the last 30 years, and I won’t stand by as our country is divided.
 
I’m also calling for a royal commission into the Aboriginal industry to expose where the $35 to $40 billion a year is going. There’s no real accountability or outcomes, and we know corruption is rife within this industry. We need transparency and true leadership on this issue, and it’s time the Australian people were given answers.

Hamas announced on Sunday that it rejects the invitation by the U.S., Qatar and Egypt for a final round of negotiations over the Gaza hostage and ceasefire deal planned for Thursday.

Why it matters: Hamas’ announcement is a significant setback for the Biden administration’s efforts to reach a hostage and ceasefire deal and prevent the Gaza conflict from escalating into a regional war.

Earlier, CNN had reported, citing unnamed sources:

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar wants a ceasefire deal — at least, that’s the message Egyptian and Qatari mediators have conveyed to Israeli officials in recent days ahead of a critical summit later this week, an Israeli source familiar with the matter said.

Whether the Israeli prime minister wants one remains shrouded in uncertainty.

Former Twitter Executive suggests Elon Musk should be ARRESTED over his tweets about the UK. Bruce Daisley, Twitter’s former Vice President for Europe, Middle East and Africa has demanded Musk face “personal sanctions” and an “arrest warrant” should be issued over his online comment about the current situation in the UK.

The former executive has also demanded the UK Prime Minister updates ‘online safety laws’ to clamp down on speech across 𝕏.

“Were Musk to continue stirring up unrest, an arrest warrant for him might produce fireworks from his fingertips, but as an international jet-setter it would have the effect of focusing his mind.”

Musk’s actions should be a wake-up call for Starmer’s government to quietly legislate to take back control of what we collectively agree is permissible on social media.”

Academics claim to be Aboriginal when genealogical records suggest they’re not

They are not academics. They are shysters.

Our universities seem overrun now with academics claiming to be Aboriginal, when even genealogical records suggest they’re not. Let me name two more.
 
Add them to the supposedly Aboriginal academics I’ve mentioned before, including Melbourne University’s Professor Bruce Pascoe (the Dark Emu fake), Western Sydney University’s Associate Dean Professor Kerrie Doyle (of the unknown “Winninninni” tribe), the late professor Eric Wilmott (from the Australian National University) and the late author Mudrooroo Narogin (Murdoch University’s former head of Aboriginal Studies).
 
First a caveat: publicly available genealogies of the people I mention show no Aboriginal ancestors, but could be wrong. Maybe there’s, say, an illegitimate birth that professional genealogists from darkemuexposed.org somehow missed.
The trouble is, none of the living academics I name will show me or those genealogists where we went wrong.
 
Now to the two new names of academics who’ve said they’re Aboriginal but seem likely mistaken, given their genealogical records.
 
One is Distinguished Professor Bronwyn Carlson, Macquarie University’s head of department of Indigenous Studies.
 
Carlson has won government grants and prizes as an Aboriginal academic, even writing books about Aboriginal identity, and saying she is Aboriginal through her mother’s grandmother.
 
But genealogical records suggest this great-grandmother’s parents were of British or Irish descent.
 
Again, maybe there’s a mistake, but when darkemuexposed.org showed Carlson their findings, they first got a threatening lawyer’s letter. When they asked again for evidence, they got no response.
 
I emailed Carlson a couple of times with my own questions, but also got no response, although her biography on the university website has since been changed to delete her claim to be “an Aboriginal woman”.
 
The second academic is Margo Neale, an adjunct professor of the Australian National University, and senior Indigenous curator at the National Museum of Australia.
 
Again, there’s no Aboriginal ancestor in her genealogical records that we can find.
 
So I wrote to her, asking: who is your Aboriginal apical ancestor, the first one from whom you base your claim to be Aboriginal?
 
She replied: “Aboriginal histories, as you know, can indeed be tricky particularly if one relies on western records during the long period of disruption and displacement… Aboriginal births, deaths and marriages were largely unrecorded outside missions and pastoral properties in earlier days at least, or inaccurately recorded.”
 
I asked again: so which Aboriginal ancestor had their birth inaccurately recorded? She never replied.
 
I know of more such academics, many in Aboriginal jobs. Shouldn’t universities demand more proof?
