In his 2002 letter to the American people explaining why he perpetrated the 9/11 attacks, Osama bin Laden asked, “What are we calling you to, and what do we want from you?,” and then immediately answered his own question: “The first thing that we are calling you to is Islam.” Wednesday his coreligionist Mohamed Elibiary, a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council, declared victory: “I do consider the United States of America an Islamic country with an Islamically compliant constitution.”

It could be a canny new Homeland Security strategy: end the jihad against the U.S. by surrendering to it. If Elibiary can convince the Islamic jihadists who are waging jihad warfare against the United States that America is already “an Islamic country with an Islamically compliant constitution,” they will have nothing left to fight for, at least against us, since the goal of jihad is to impose Islamic law wherever possible, and ultimately over the world entire.

JERUSALEM – In what seems to have become a routine, Hamas continues to fire rockets at civilian targets all across Israel throughout the day and night, as the IDF continues to attack terror targets throughout the Gaza Strip. More than 130 rockets were fired from Gaza towards Israel on Sunday. At least 102 rockets struck Israel while 22 rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system.

A rocket fired from Gaza hit electricity infrastructure in Israel that supplies power to Gaza, cutting power to about 70,000 people in Khan Yunis and Deir al-Balah.

Palestinian Authority [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas telephoned Sisi and urged him to intervene to achieve an “immediate ceasefire” between Israel and Hamas. Abbas later admitted that his appeal to Sisi and (other Arab leaders) had fallen on deaf ears.

Sisi’s decision not to intervene in the current crisis did not come as a surprise. In fact, Sisi and many Egyptians seem to be delighted that Hamas is being badly hurt. (More from Gatestone Institute)

For a number of years now, I have been reading regularly at – and greatly enjoying – three excellent English-language blogs maintained by Israeli Jews.

A CONTROVERSIAL plan to build a mosque next to a church whose members include victims of Islamic extremists has been given the green light.

More than 1000 objections were lodged with Hume Council against the Al Sadiq Foundation’s proposal to put a Shi’ite mosque next to an existing Assyrian church in the northern suburb of Coolaroo.

Hume approved the mosque permit, but the case went to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal amid outrage from supporters of St Mary’s Ancient Church of the East.

A melee ensued, with protesters indignant that a flag celebrating the banned terrorist group would cause disharmony. Police rushed the stage to break up the scuffle as organisers urged for calm.

“How dare they show that fascist flag. We should only have Palestinian flags waving,” one protester declared.

There was also hamburger trouble:

As well as taking aim at foes Israel and the US, the protesters were urged to boycott McDonald’s for its supposed links to funding Israel — anti-Semitic and anti-sundae.

At least they’ve moved on from Max Brenner stores. Which, incidentally, are fantastic.

Aussie Bludjahideen With Entertainment Value

Still, at least Sharrouf made it to Syria, which is more than Musa Cerantonio can say.
