Those of you who think that we in the Counter-Jihad are guilty of over playing the threat that Islam poses to our western culture and way of life, take a look at this one, originally posted at Jussi K Niemelä’s blog (Finnish), based on an article in Helsinkin Sanomat(Finnish).

“Mother forbidden to wear bikini in play park”

A Helsinki mother was taking in the sun in the Tapuli residential park in Tapaninkylä with her two sons, ages 5 and 6. While the boys were splashing in the swimming pool the mother decided to get some sun. She spread her blanket on the grass by the pool, so she could keep an eye on the children.

The mother managed to lay only for a second, when the park’s staff, a woman, came over and admonished her to dress up. According to the woman an adult is not allowed to be in the park in a bikini.

Why are we financing this?

(IsraelNN.com) Itamar Marcus, director of the watchdog Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) organization, made a recent trip to Norway that sparked a national political debate about whether Norway should continue funding the Palestinian Authority.  Marcus supplied convincing evidence that the PA uses its budget to glorify terrorism and terrorists, and to promote hatred and violence. 

The opposition “Progress Party,” which recent polls indicate is Norway’s most popular party, responded with a call to freeze all Norwegian funding to the Palestinian Authority.

The issue was the lead item on a recent edition of Norway’s nightly TV news, which began with the dramatic announcement, “Norwegian tax money is used to teach children to hate the West, says the Progress Party.” 

The announcer continues, “Good Evening. The Progress Party demands that Norway freeze all money given to the Palestinian areas. The party fears that the money is funding Palestinian TV, which teaches the children to hate Israel and the West.”

A scene from the infamous “PA TV Mickey Mouse” series is then screened, showing the famous lovable mouse – named Farfur on PA TV – threatening U.S. President George Bush.  The narrator then tells the Norwegian news-watching audience that Farfur “wants to conquer the world for Islam – and [this] nice rabbit wants to kill Danes because of the Muhammed cartoons.”  The rabbit is seen crying out, “If they repeat it, we will kill them, by Allah… I will bite them and eat them.”

Muslim students have gone on to become doctors, business people and public servants, and all have been part of making Britain the vibrant society that it is today. ‘Islam on Campus‘ a survey published on Sunday that supposedly charts UK student opinion is silent on this, just as it is silent on seeking positive good practise examples of British Muslims reaching out, seeking the common good.

The latest report on British Muslim students by the Centre for Social Cohesion serves only to strengthen bigots and demagogues keen to sow discord amongst British people. The authors of the report cannot hide behind a purportedly scientific survey to justify their own agenda of creating anything but cohesion in society. We refer to more concrete polling data that illustrate the commitment British Muslims have to British society and the people around them. The authors cite their unsatisfactory sampling to extrapolate ideological and biased conclusions to serve their own divisive ends.

UPDATE: Does it mean anything that Black Americans have the highest standard of living in the world? Is his angry wife proud of that?

With Islam comes Shariah law. This is the framework or rules and regulations enforced in Islamic theocracies as “law.” Examples of authoritarian Shariah law include: requirement of women to obtain permission from husbands for daily freedoms; beating of disobedient woman and girls; execution of homosexuals; engagement of polygamy and forced child marriages; the testimony of four male witnesses to prove rape; honor killings of those, principally women, who have dishonored the family; death to apostate Muslims who chose to leave Islam; inferior status of non-Muslims, and capital punishment for those who “slander Islam.” This is what Islam replaces freedom with wherever Muslims succeed in taking over – Shariah law at its finest absurdity.

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut (Reuters) – Christians and Muslims mistrust each other so much that a few terrorist attacks could trigger dramatic and violent religious tensions, a Jordanian prince told an interfaith conference on Tuesday.

 

Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad bin Talal, sponsor of a Muslim appeal to Christian leaders to work together for peace, said the two religions must work together or face possible violence that risks turning into genocide.

The warning was a stark reminder to the 150 participants, theologians and faith leaders who came to discuss common views on love of God and neighbour, of the dangerous potential religion can have when intertwined with political conflicts.

“Christians and Muslims routinely mistrust, disrespect and dislike each other, if not popularly and actively rubbish, dehumanize, demonize, despise and attack each other,” said Ghazi, a special adviser to Jordan’s King Abdullah. (Hmm, and why would that be?)

A recent global survey showed that 60 percent of Christians disliked Muslims and 30 percent of Muslims reciprocate, (‘reciprocate?’ Isn’t it more like ‘retaliate’ in the way of jihad?) he said. “With such an explosive mix, popular religious conflicts, even unto genocide, are lurking around the corner,” he said. (sure its not the other way around?)

ISTANBUL: Turkey’s highest court on Wednesday ruled against closing the country’s governing party but cut its state funding by half in response to charges that it threatened the nation’s secular regime during its six years in power.

The case called for banning the party on the grounds that it had steered Turkey, whose citizens are mostly Muslim, away from its constitutionally mandated secularism.  The case was part of a broader struggle between the party, whose members are observant Muslims, and the secular elite, which includes the military and judicial systems.

Thai Jihadists find refuge in Malaysia

Malaysia ‘aware’ Thai insurgents hiding out

 

The government of Malaysia knows that extremists from southern Thailand have crossed the border to take refuge in Malaysia, media reported from that country on Wednesday.

Last week, Thai authorities said three insurgents had fled into Malaysia to try to hide among either extremist sympathisers or the general Malaysian population.

The New Straits Times quoted “sources” in the border town of Kota Baru as saying authorities “are aware of the presence of several suspected Thai militants” in the upper east coast provinces of Kelantan and Terengganu.

Both provinces have many residents who are sympathetic to the separatist demands of the Thailand-based insurgents and terrorists.

“Sources said the authorities had been monitoring these groups for the past few years but had yet to take any action against them as they were living here legitimately and had not committed any offence,” said the national newspaper.

“The men are also believed to have dual identity cards.”

Earlier reports said three religious teachers known as ustaz and four other Thai men had fled to Malaysia to escape arrest in connection with a series of bombings in the deep South.

“Kelantan police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi declined to comment on the matter, saying that it was a sensitive issue,” according to the reports on Wednesday. (compiled by BangkokPost.com)

“PM announces he will resign after Kadima elects new leader,”

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert held a special press conference on Wednesday at 8 p.m. where he announced he will not run in the Kadima primary scheduled to take place in September.Olmert said he would resign from office upon selection of a successor, and would allow his successor to attempt to form a coalition.

The premier lashed out at his political adversaries without naming any of them – either from Kadima or other parties – personally.

Olmert opened his speech by expressing his pride to be a citizen of Israel: “As a citizen in a democracy I have always believed that when a person is elected prime minister in Israel, even those who opposed him in the ballot want him to succeed.

“But instead I found myself subjected to constant investigations and criticism. Almost from day one, I had to repel personal attacks and postpone decisions that are pertinent to the security of the State.”

Olmert then proceeded to recount the successes of his premiership: “And yet, Israel’s position has improved.

“The North enjoys tranquility; Israel’s deterrence has immeasurably improved. I am proud of these achievements,” he said.

 

Achievements? The North is threatened with imminent attack and the South is already under attack. And he is whining about personal attacks.

Prime Minister Olmert delivered this pathetic “appeasement” statement. He might be a liar and under numerous investigations, but when it comes to appeasing the enemy, he is, sadly, very consistent. This statement was a foreshadowing of the disasters which have come under his leadership in the past three years: the kidnapping of Gilad Shalit, the abduction and deaths of Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasswer, the failed Second Lebanon War and finally, the release of terrorist child-murderer Samir Kuntar in exchange for the already brutally murdered bodies of Regev and Goldwasser. This was the coup de grace of appeasing terrorists.

I completely oppose the actions and policies of the Israeli government and, inevitably, some of the people of Israel, as they sanctioned their leadership in carrying out this deal. When the Israeli government released Samir Kuntar, it was a defeat of enormous import for the spirit and will of the Jewish people. I hang my head in shame.

Palistan Bankrupt?

Could it be that the world’s largest recipient of foreign aid per capita with the expert suit-and-tie-clad businessman at its helm is going bankrupt? That’s what the ‘Palestinian Authority‘ is telling the Jerusalem Post on Tuesday morning. The reason for the ‘bankruptcy’? No, of course it’s not that they spent more than they took in. It’s that they didn’t take in enough. You see, many of the ‘donor countries’ – especially the Arab ones – haven’t been ponying up their money now that a barrel of oil ‘only’ costs $126 instead of $147….

The officials told The Jerusalem Post that the PA wouldn’t be able to pay July salaries to more than 150,000 public servants and may be forced to close down several government institutions as a result of the deepening crisis.

I know one place they could cut back – they could stop paying ‘salaries‘ for all their ‘employees‘ in Gaza who haven’t come to work in over a year. At least 40% of the ‘Palestinian Authority’s ‘budget’ is spent in Gaza, which they do not even control.

The officials disclosed that the deficit in the PA budget has risen in the past six months from $1.6 billion to $2b.

“We are facing a real crisis,” a top PA official told the Post, adding “we are on the brink of bankruptcy.”
