Lying to protect Islam from scrutiny is obligatory in Islam. Boko Haram are not misunderstanders of Islam, they follow the Mohammedan playbook to the letter.

koran-kalashnikovArsalan Iftikhar is “an international human rights lawyer, founder of TheMuslimGuy.com and adjunct professor of religious studies at DePaul University in Chicago.” He is also the former National Legal Director of the Hamas-linked Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR).

Here he offers a reassuring piece claiming that Boko Haram, that is, the Congregation of the People of the Sunnah for Dawah and Jihad, are misunderstanding Islam and misinterpreting the Qur’an, which, he says, categorically rejects “kidnapping young girls and threatening to sell them into sexual slavery.” He offers two verses to support this idea: one that says that “oppression is worse than murder” (2:191) and another declaring that nobody “shall force girls to commit prostitution” (24:33).

Neither of these, unfortunately, are precisely on point. “Oppression” is in the eye of the beholder; Abubakar Shekau thinks he is following the Qur’an’s dictates, and that that couldn’t possibly constitute oppression, no matter what. And these girls aren’t being forced into prostitution; they’re being sold off, as Iftikhar himself says in this very piece, into forced marriages with Boko Haram members.

Iftikhar doesn’t even mention the verses that Muslims like Abubakar Shekau point to in order to justify kidnapping young girls and selling them into sexual slavery:

Nigeria has been the worst victim of Islamic terrorism for many years now with its Christian population suffering horrible death and devastations at the hands of Boko Haram Islamic Jihadis, the Nigerian version of Al-Qaeda. Thousands of innocent Christians – from school students to Church attendees to common villagers – have been killed or burned alive by the Boko Haram Jihadis in the past few years. A staggering 1,500 people were killed in the first 3 months of 2014 in Boko Haram violence. Sufferings of the totally innocent Christians at hands Boko Haram Jihadis have been such that the Christians of Nigeria—as I think—have only one way out of it, which is: Partition of the country like the 1947 India-Pakistan, but with a complete separation of the Muslim and Christian populations.

As of latest, a new dimension has been added to the sufferings of Nigerian Christians at hands of Boko Haram Jihadis. On 14 April 2014, Boko Haram militants attacked a secondary school andabducted 276 young girls. In another incident, 8 girls were abducted from a village on May 6, while 12 persons were hacked to death in a separate incident on May 5.

The latest in this abduction saga is the release of an hour-long video by Boko Haram commander Abubakar Shekau, in which he claims responsibility for the abductions and threatens to continue the same. About the abducted girls, he said:

“I abducted your girls… They are slaves and I will sell them because I have the market for selling humans. Allah says I should sell them. He commands me to sell. I will sell women. I will sell.”

That takes two. A buyer and a seller. Are the kidnappers and the buyers ‘moderates’ or do they belong to the ‘tiny minority of excremists?

US joins search for abducted Nigerian girls

The United States has sent a team of experts to Nigeria to help find nearly 300 schoolgirls abducted last month by the armed group Boko Haram.

US President Barack Obama described the kidnapping of the girls as “heartbreaking” and “outrageous”, soon after residents said the group had seized eight more girls, aged between 12 and 15, again in the embattled northeast.

Obama urged global action against Boko Haram and confirmed Nigerian leaders had accepted an offer to deploy US personnel there.

The first group of girls was taken three weeks ago, and concerns have been mounting about their fate after Boko Haram chief Abubakar Shekau claimed responsibility in a video, saying his group was holding the schoolgirls as “slaves” and threatening to “sell them in the market“.

ABC presenter Waleed Aly, a Muslim, is often used by Channel 10 and Fairfax to explain away Muslim terrorism. He is the media Left’s acceptable face of Islam, but how acceptable is he really?

With the jihadist bombing of the Boston marathon, for instance, he initially informed Agereaders:

Yesterday on The Project he was asked as an alleged “an expert on terrorism” to tell us something about Boko Haram.

Boko Haram’s leader himself has been taped saying Allah commands him to sell into slavery the Nigerian school girls his Islamist terrorists have kidnapped. A Muslim intermediary says some of the Christian girls have already forced to convert to Islam.

But Aly, asked to explain who Boko Haram actually was, could not bring himself to describe them as Muslim or even use the word “Muslim” once:

They are a really, really hard group to define because they are so splintered and so diverse. It started as a fairly coherent group – this is a long time ago, over 10 years ago – and since then they’ve splintered off into all these other little groups. What we do know though is that the broader movement is a terrorist movement and they’ve been wanting to overthrow the Nigerian government and establish a government of their own. But beyond that, this particular group, who have done this particular thing, it’s hard to identify who they are and they might just be vigilantes.

Sheikh Tayseer Tamimi, “Chief Justice of Palestine” and Secretary General of the Supreme Islamic Council in Jerusalem, says that Israel is planning to massacre Muslims on the Temple Mount today, in order to give an excuse to divide it between Jews and Muslims.

Israeli police are limiting the number of Muslims onto the Mount today to avoid problems as a crowd of Jews plan to ascend for Yom Ha’Atzmaut.

As soon as Jewish groups announced their plans to visit the Mount today, Muslim leaders put out a call to have thousands of people “defend Al Aqsa” from being “desecrated.”

Tamimi says that today’s planned massacre will follow the formula of Baruch Goldstein’s murdering Muslims at the Cave of the Patriarchs, implying that it was a Zionist plot to give an excuse for the “temporal and physical division” of the holy spot.

Tamimi has a history of hysterical incitement like this. He once insisted that Israel would destroy Al Aqsa and build a Temple by March 16, 2010. When that date passed without incident, he just started a new rumor. And so on.
