The assault on a civilian target, filled with non-combatant children, has a grotesque logic behind it. They call themselves “Boko Haram”, which translates as “western education is forbidden”. The sect regards learning as oppression. They will stop all teaching that conflicts with a holy book from the 7th century and accounts of doubtful provenance on the life and sayings of their prophet written hundreds of years after he died.

A desire for sexual supremacy accompanies their loathing of knowledge. They take 220 schoolgirls as slaves and force them to convert to their version of Islam. They either rape them or sell them on for £10 or so to new masters. The girls are the victims of slavery, child abuse and forced marriage…

Ship with 1,200 migrants arrive in Sicily

MILAN (AP) — An Italian ship brought nearly 1,200 migrants to the Sicilian port of Augusta as Italian officials sounded the alarm over the rising tide of migrants trying to enter Europe.

Navy Commander Aldo Dolfino told Sky TG24 on Friday that migrants had been evacuated from eight life rafts and one boat, which alone carried some 500 migrants.

Italy’s top security official told Parliament last week that 20,500 migrants had arrived so far this year, a huge increase over the 2,500 in the same period of 2013. Most boats come from Libya carrying migrants from Africa.

Save the Children has noted an increase in the number of minors, many traveling alone.

On Thursday, 700 African migrants stormed the fence at Spain’s North African enclave of Melilla, and 140 got in.

Scrap the Human Rights Commission. Save our liberties and save $25 million, too

Well, it is no more weird than having a human rights commission that has devoted itself not to the expansion of freedom but to the strangling of it…

Australia’s Human Rights Commission must be one of the worst cases of Orwellian doublespeak in the modern world. It has the word rights in its name yet in practice this vast bureaucratic outfit that is funded by government to the tune of $25 million a year does far more to thwart freedom than it does to promote it…

Anyone with a reasonable grasp of the English language might expect an organisation such as the HRC to defend something such as freedom of speech, the most important of all rights.

This is the right on which every other right we enjoy is built. Without the freedom to speak our minds, publish our ideas and hawk our ideologies, everything from the right to vote to artistic rights becomes meaningless, ­impossible even.

So does this group of well-paid, well-fed rights defenders defend the foundational right of people to say what lurks in our minds and hearts? Nope… They’re forever reminding folk their right to free speech can be rescinded if they say anything too outrageous or risky or threatening to public morals.

So in the debate about section 18C, in this key ideological clash over whether the state should have the authority to tell individuals what they can think and say, most of the HRC has come down on the side of the state control rather than the individual liberty.

Dozens of teachers pushed out of schools by an alleged Islamist takeover plot are too afraid to speak out because of gagging orders, it has been claimed.

Birmingham MP Khalid Mahmood said at least ten teachers told him they were made to sign agreements offering cash in return for their silence.

The latest allegation of the so-called ‘Trojan Horse’ plot – whereby Muslim extremists infiltrate state schools and run them according to Islamic principles – was made last night as Ofsted announced inspections at a further three schools, bringing the total to 21.

Just about everyone and everything in Sweden is left, far left and extreme left. The claim that these protestors are ‘Neo-Nazis’ is most likely false. We should give them the benefit of the doubt, since they are most likely a small remnant of patriots who object to being replaced by the invading Mohammedan scourge.
