Five British ISIS fighters have been locked up in a Syria torture camp after pleading to be allowed to return home because they had become disillusioned with the self-proclaimed Islamic State.

The Express reports that the men have been nicknamed the “cream puff brigade” after being branded as “traitors” and sent to a detention centre in the city of Raqqa – the de facto ISIS capital. They are now reportedly being “mistreated on a daily basis”.

The volunteers, who are believed to have become sick of the brutality shown by some of their fellow fighters, are now “considered traitors who deserve death”, according to German magazine Focus.

This is working out better than anyone could have expected – although there is a precedent:

It is not the first time Westernised “jihadists” have become disillusioned.

German intelligence sources revealed in 2010 how one gang had become the laughing stock of the Taliban because they missed their mums while training at a terror camp in Pakistan.

A man is due at court today charged with child abduction in Rotherham – following the disappearance of three girls from the town.

Vejuhadin Ghorbani, aged 37, from the Clifton area of Rotherham, was arrested on Sunday – shortly after the three girls returned home.

They were reported missing at 10.20pm on Saturday, leading to a massive police search for the trio.

Ghorbani has also been charged with causing or inciting a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity.

Two of the girls in this case are just 11 years old. The third is 13. At this point, all vulnerable people in Rotherham should be evacuated and the town then walled off. The children’s charity Barnardo’s might also require isolation.

Nigerian Christian leaders have said that Islamic terror group Boko Haram has killed over 350 Christians in just the past week, forcing the closure of churches and Christian schools.

Officials from the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria (EYN) said that the country’s Kulp Bible College along with several churches have been forcibly shut down due to the ongoing hostilities, according to Morning Star News.

This one carries the title ‘Battling with Words’. It prides itself as a study of language use in Defence using social and linguistic theoretical frameworks to understand culture and cultural change. If we translate that into English, it simply means using the organisation charged with Australia’s security as a guinea pig in which to experiment with the latest radical social theory to emerge from Hippyville.

Hippyville, of course, has another name: elite academia. And it is located on the other side of the world from the ho-hum place known as Common Sense, where most people live and do useful but less trendy things than destroying societal norms.

This report states that the challenge facing Defence ‘is to build a more diverse workforce that is more representative of the Australian population.’ It’s written right there, at the start of the second paragraph of the summary on page XI.
