(Sarajevo) After the war in Yugoslavia and everybody went their own way, Bosnia gave residence to a large number of Islamic fighters who had tipped up from all over the world to fight the good fight.Since then, the country has had something of a radical Islamist problem and has clamped down hard on those who promote the view amongst the largely not religious population that they are bad Muslims. Which is why in April, Bosnia passed a law that imposes a 10-year prison sentence on anyone convicted of fighting in or recruiting people for conflicts abroad.The latest iteration of that clampdown saw the light of day this morning, with 200 policemen carrying out numerous raids across the small country, which netted them (so far) 17 followers of radical terrorism in Iraq and Syria.

The police had this to say in a press release:

“The suspects are connected to financing, organizing and recruiting Bosnian citizens to depart for Syria and Iraq, and taking part in armed conflicts in Syria and Iraq, fighting on the side of radical terrorist groups and organizations.”

Good to see that at least one European country is doing something about Islamic religious bigots. In the UK, we just talk about it.

There should be some punishment for Erdgoan, Davatoglu, and the rest of the regime that has been steadily undoing Kemalism, and marginalizing, as best it can, the supporters of the old, secular order. That punishment ought to be expuulsion from NATO. It is preposterous that the members of NATO have committed themselves to go to war if Turkey is attacked, given that the Turkish government has made Turkey a promoter of Jihad — though not of the Islamic State — through its support of Hamas and its limitless hostility toward Israel, a main victim of that world-wide Jihad, in its attempts to protect itself.Here.

If you haven’t yet listened to the latest Radio Free Delingpole podcast I urge you to do so: but first you’ll need a strong stomach.

In it, I talk to George Igler of the Discourse Institute who has been following the Rotherham child rape gang story closely for the last three years. The full story is more shocking than you can possibly imagine, not just because of the ugliness of the abuse itself (redolent of that horrible scene from the movie Taken where smack-addled girls are serially abused in a filthy dive by countless grubby men) but also because of the extent of the cover-up by the left-liberal establishment of social workers, local government officers, child welfare charities, diversity co-ordinators, not to mention the regional police forces and even imams.

Truly this is one of the biggest scandals of our time. And it’s going to get bigger.

I frequently disagree with privileged leftie Dan Hodges. But credit where it is due, I completely agree with what hewrites here 

I’ve just read an interview that appears to have been published in this morning’s Guardian, with Amelia Gentleman and Nazir Afzal, the Crown Prosecution Service’s lead on child sexual abuse and violence against women and girls. It deals with Rotherham and – if Afzal’s words have been reported correctly – he should be sacked.

His statements are staggering. He begins by claiming race was not an issue in the targeting of victims. “He argues that evidence suggests that victims were not targeted because they were white but because they were vulnerable and their vulnerability caused them to seek out ‘warmth, love, transport, mind-numbing substances, drugs, alcohol and food’,”

The article, which concludes that the videos of decapitations by the Islamic State were “faked” by those wishing to harm the image of Islam, appeared in the Arabic-language version of Al Jazeera, that version by which that propaganda organ of the Qatari government ought best to be judged.

That is, the article had to have been vetted by all kinds of editors at Al Jazeera, who approved its appearance. It was removed only after behind-the-scenes discussion, and realization that, after all, such a charge — though not different in kind from the charges that the Americans or Israelis actually had carried out the attacks on 9/11/2001 — would not be taken lightly in the West, and might damage the “image” of something — Al Jazeera, Qatar, Arabs, Islam — that needed to be protected.

It’s not the hasty removal of the article that matters — it’s the original appearance of that article. And that ought to be brought up again and again, as an example of what Al Jazeera is, behind the plausible facade of its English-language version, all about: the defense, coute que coute, and promotion, no matter what, of Islam and the Soft Jihad.
