A White House official told Breitbart News Friday evening that President Donald Trump will only make a deal with Iran that “satisfies his redlines” following a Situation Room meeting held midday.

The president emphasized his red lines in the post announcing the meeting, including that Iran must agree it cannot have a nuclear weapon, that the Strait of Hormuz must reopen, that Iran must clear mines in the Strait, and that its enriched uranium must be turned over to the United States for destruction:

Iran must agree that they will never have a Nuclear Weapon or Bomb. The Hormuz Strait must be immediately open, no tolls, for unrestricted shipping traffic, in both directions. All water mines (bombs), if any, will be terminated (we have removed, through detonation, numerous such mines with our great underwater mine sweepers. Iran will complete the immediate removal and/or detonation of any mines that are left, which will not be many!). Ships caught in the Strait due to our amazing and unprecedented Naval Blockade, which will now be lifted, may start the process of “heading home!” Say HELLO to your wives, husbands, parents, and families from me, your favorite President! But senior Iranian Revolutionary Guards official Mohammad Akbarzadeh said the likelihood of a return to “war is low because of the enemy’s weakness”, but warned the military was “lying in wait with full magazines” in the event of an attack, Tasnim news agency reported.

Trump, meanwhile, said in a cabinet meeting at the White House that he was in no rush to reach an accord, despite saying at the weekend that one was close.

“Iran is very much intent, they want very much to make a deal. So far they haven’t gotten there. We’re not satisfied with it, but we will be,” he said.

“Either that or we’ll have to just finish the job.”

But if you think that the price of gasoline is bad, just wait until you see what eventually happens to food prices. The price of diesel has been rising even faster than the price of regular gasoline, and fertilizer prices have been absolutely skyrocketing. Those costs will get passed along to the rest of us. It is just a matter of time. Meanwhile, our farmers are dealing with drought conditions that are unprecedented, and now a “Super El Niño” is coming.

What all of this means is that food prices will rise to very painful levels.

So even though everyone is complaining about rising gasoline prices at the moment, one prominent economist is warning that “the next story is food”…

Back & forth, down & around…. the Iranians are playing for time. It’s not so much that they are playing the Americans for fools, but the Americans lost momentum. Not going in and eliminating the regimes revolutionary guards enabled them to regroup, which defeats the purpose of the exercise.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi are in Doha, Qatar, as of Monday for negotiations with neighboring states in the service of finalizing a peace agreement with the United States.

The visit follows a series of public statements from President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio affirming that Tehran and Washington have made progress in their negotiations towards peace. Both have cautioned that the two sides still disagree sharply on core issues remaining unresolved and that talks will take time to yield results, but the tone of their remarks indicated an optimism absent from previous attempts at ending the conflict.

President Donald Trump says he has instructed the negotiators “not to rush into a deal” with Iran since “time is on our side”, adding that the US blockade in the Strait of Hormuz “will remain in full force and effect until an agreement is reached, certified, and signed”.
The threat of renewed war with Iran “still looms large”, according to Al Jazeera’s team in Washington, DC, as “the US president still leaves open the opportunity to launch military strikes”.
