From Start to Finish: Muslims get place to pray in Athens

* Ignorance and stupidity rules supreme in today’s Europe: Greece, a country that suffered tremendously under Islamic jihad throughout the centuries, is allowing creeping Islamization:

First center available in nearly two centuries; goal is to get a full mosque

No mosque for 2 centuries? Hmm, wonder why that is?

The Associated Press

ATHENS, Greece – Immigrant groups on Friday opened the first formal Islamic prayer site to operate in Athens since rule by the Turks of the Ottoman Empire ended more than 170 years ago.

Plans by Greece’s government to build a mosque for tens of thousands of Muslim immigrants living in the capital have stalled, so businessmen in Arab countries financed the downtown cultural center.

“This is the first time in all the 35 years I’ve lived in Greece that we have a proper place to pray,” said Naim El-Gandour, the Egyptian-born head of the Muslim Association of Greece. “It’s hard for me to describe what’s happening. I am overcome with emotion.”

Most Muslims in Athens use makeshift mosques for prayer, including basements, apartments and converted coffee shops. For weddings, funerals and other important rites, they often travel more than 435 miles to Thrace, a region with a Turkish-speaking Muslim minority of 120,000 people.

More than 1,000 mostly Arab immigrants gathered for the official opening of the cultural center and prayer site, with men in traditional Islamic dress kneeling beside laborers in overalls.

El-Gandour said he did not know how much was spent on the center, a 19,500-square-foot space converted from a former textile factory. It has large prayer rooms, flat-screen televisions and uniformed volunteer stewards.

Representatives of Muslim organizations in Europe attended along with representatives of the Iranian and Saudi Arabian embassies, senior imams from Muslim countries and a representative of Greece’s Orthodox Church.

Plans to build a mosque in Athens have been unpopular, because of their association with centuries of rule by the Ottoman Empire, which ended in 1833 after a long rebellion. Some 97 percent of Greece’s native-born population of 11 million is baptized Orthodox Christian.

But last year, the government promised to spend $20 million for an Athens mosque by 2009. The Education and Religious Affairs Ministry will name a committee to choose the head imam, but says individual communities will be allowed to bring their own imams to the mosque.

International human rights reports, including a 2005 report on religious freedom issued by the U.S. State Department, had criticized Greece for failing to provide an official prayer site for Muslims in Athens.

* Amazing. Truly amazing. The totally infiltrated ‘human rights’ organizations are mere fronts for the spread of Islam. And they are succeeding with the help of the U.S. State Department: Is everybody asleep at the wheel?

Sack Karzai Now! But then what?

Update: Fitzgerald: A tribute to Hamid Karzai

June 27-07

Slick, oleagineous, is Hamid Karzai, but not more than one is used to in such regions. Think of Hussein of Jordan, in his celebrated role as plucky little king. Hamid Karzai, when he first appeared on the world scene, in that beautifully-colored robe he wears, seemed okay. He had brothers and a sister running restaurants in Maryland and Massachusetts. He was the son of a civic-minded Afghan. He seemed — okay. He seemed to be one of those “Muslim-for-identification-purposes-only” Muslims, or as close to it as one might hope for outside of Azar Nafisi and Fouad Ajami. He was not able to fess up to it all himself, but still…or so one thought.

Then came the Speech of Mahathir Mohamed, the sober-toned, yet hysterical and telling speech, at the O.I.C., when he made an appeal for the world’s Muslims to use their brains, not in order to investigate the nature of the brain or DNA or of the atom or the origins of the universe, but only — the only thing he meant by “science” — to acquire military technology, and to defeat, among others, “the Jews.” Smooth Hamid Karzai, oily Hamid Karzai applauded. Interviewed just after, Karzai was enthusiastic about Mahathir’s speech. The oleaginous Karzai said he found the speech deeply impressive. He said he had found the speech wonderful, inspirational, tip-top. Well, that was it as far as Hamid Karzai was concerned.

Never mind that the poppy trade is flourishing and Karzai is weak. Never mind that he is a better than the Taliban. His Muslim solidarity, of the kind he expressed after that speech, leaves a permanent impression: he is not to be trusted. Oh, he’s more to be trusted than any conceivable Arab leader. He’s more to be trusted than any conceivable Pakistani leader. But he’s not to be trusted. That’s it.

His government is famously corrupt. Oh, not as corrupt as that of the Al-Saud. Not as corrupt as that of Mubarak. Not as corrupt as that of Arafat and his successors and collaborators in the so-called “Palestinian” “Authority.” But corrupt. And the American and NATO forces are tearing their hair out.

But he wants, he wants, he wants. A year or two ago he was lamenting all the money spent in Iraq because he thought it should go to Afghanistan. He wants, he wants, he wants.

And he wants the Western powers to prop up his government — why? — but to fight exactly as he wishes them to fight, obeying Marquess of Queensberry rules that will only cause more Western casualties, and that make no sense in the Afghani context.

He wants, he wants, he wants.

Original Story:

* Hamid Karzai is upset.

Really, Karzai is shaking his prayer beads in anger:

It seems lately that NATO forces have learned a few lessons, such as never to trust their so-called Afghan ‘allies’- and since they do that, they are roasting Taliban in good numbers. Inevitable that some ‘civilians” are getting killed in the process, because the Taliban and the jihadists who joined them are using women and children as cover. But Hamid doesn’t like that NATO forces are doing their job. He rather sees them get killed, otherwise it wouldn’t be ‘fair’-, right?

Hamid doesn’t mind when NATO-soldiers are being shot and Talibs are unmolested. Hamid is a great admirer of the demented ex-premier Mahatir Mohamed of Malaysia, a chap he quite likes. Hamid really seems to believe that he could survive, even after the coalition troops leave the country, something we would call the ‘Najibulla-syndrome’-

But no; Hamid knows (or does he not?) that he wouldn’t last 24 hours without NATO-protection.

However, Hamid wants to call the shots:

Karzai warns NATO: Afghan life not cheap

By Rahim Faiez, Associated Press Writer | June 24, 2007

KABUL, Afghanistan –President Hamid Karzai accused NATO and U.S.-led troops Saturday of carelessly killing scores of Afghan civilians and warned that the fight against resurgent Taliban militants could fail unless foreign forces show more restraint.

“Afghan life is not cheap and it should not be treated as such,” Karzai said in an angry rebuke that drew a contrite acknowledgment from NATO that it must “do better.”

In the past 10 days, more than 90 civilians have been killed by airstrikes and artillery fire targeting Taliban insurgents, Karzai said. The mounting toll is sapping the authority of the Western-backed Afghan president, who has pleaded repeatedly with U.S. and NATO commanders to consult Afghan authorities during operations and show more restraint.

“Several times in the last year, the Afghan government tried to prevent civilian casualties, but our innocent people are becoming victims of careless operations of NATO and international forces,” Karzai said at a news conference in his Kabul palace.

The casualties listed by Karzai bring the number of civilians killed in NATO or U.S.-led military operations this year to 211, according to an Associated Press tally of figures provided by Afghan and foreign officials and witnesses.

That tops the 172 civilians killed in militant attacks.

“If NATO forces want to be successful in their fight against terrorism and in bringing security to Afghanistan, they should coordinate with the Afghan government, no matter if the operation is small or big,” Karzai said in a mixture of English and his native Pashto.

NATO’s International Security Assistance Force responded contritely.

“President Karzai has a right to be disappointed and angry over the scale of civilian casualties in the last few days,” ISAF spokesman Nick Lunt said. “We need to do better than we have been doing so far.”

Foreign commanders insist they take great care to avoid civilian deaths while trying to beat back the Taliban so that Karzai’s frail government can deliver services to the impoverished south and east.

Both U.S. and NATO forces, however, rely heavily on devastating air power. That helps minimize foreign troop casualties while inflicting heavy losses on militants — but also regularly harms innocents.

“Every single ISAF commander knows and says that we can do our job here if we have the consent of the people. But unlike the Taliban, we do not set out to cause civilian casualties, and that is a critical difference,” Lunt said.

Genocidal Hamas Thug Brags About US Aid Money ‘Turned Into Weapons’

Spiegel Online interviews brutish Hamas thug Mahmoud Zahar, gloating about the weapons Hamas has been able to buy with American aid money: ‘We Will Try to Form an Islamic Society’.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: What will improve for people in Gaza now that Hamas is in control?

20070623zahar-sm.gif

Zahar:
The good thing is that we can now collect information about our enemies and informants from foreign powers. We will look for Israel’s spies.

SPIEGEL ONLINE: Last week there were street battles in the West Bank between Fatah and Hamas militias. Fatah maintained the upper hand. How will Hamas loyalists defend themselves in the event of any new fighting?

Zahar: Let me ask you: How have we defended ourselves so far against the Israeli occupation?

SPIEGEL ONLINE: With bombs and attacks?

Zahar: Exactly. But you said that, not me. …

SPIEGEL ONLINE: The militant wings of Fatah and Hamas have been fully armed over the last few months. Are these weapons still in circulation?

Zahar: There are naturally very many weapons around now. Two years ago, one bullet in Gaza cost around €3.50 — now it would cost 35 cents. The American aid money has been translated into weapons. Thank you, America!

Brave Taliban Jihadis Use 6-Year Old Boy As Suicide Bomber

Via LGF:

The “holy warriors” of the Taliban are already using children to decapitate helpless captives, so it comes as no surprise that their depraved jihad now includes 6-year old suicide bombers.

Children as young as six are being used by the Taliban in increasingly desperate suicide missions, coalition forces in Afghanistan claimed yesterday.

* No doubt the nutroots will tell us that the Taliban are just noble savages who use the weapons they have against the imperialist occupation forces. Who are we to judge, right?

*
The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), to which Britain contributes 5,000 troops in southern Afghanistan, revealed that soldiers defused an explosive vest which had been placed on a six-year-old who had been told to attack Afghan army forces in the east of the country. …

The boy had been ordered to target a check point in Miri, in the Andar district of Ghazni province.

“They placed explosives on a six-year-old boy and told him to walk up to the Afghan police or army and push the button,” said Captain Michael Cormier, the company commander who intercepted the child, in a statement. “Fortunately, the boy did not understand and asked patrolling officers why he had this vest on.”

Lieutenant Colonel David Accetta, ISAF eastern regional command spokesman, told the Guardian: “In the past we have not seen the Taliban sink that low, to use children as suicide bombers. The personnel secured the vest to make sure the child was safe.”

Lt Col Accetta said the procedure for dealing with an armed minor had so far been untested in Afghanistan. “It would have been difficult to know what to do considering it was a six-year-old boy and he was presumably going to push the button himself or someone was going to detonate it for him remotely,” Lt Col Accetta said.

The rules of military engagement are easily muddied when a child poses a direct threat, he explained. “What we do if we identify the fact that an adult is wearing a suicide vest is we use whatever force we deem necessary to protect the lives of our soldiers and any civilians. Of course it makes it more difficult – it’s a six year-old child.”

to-taliban.jpg

Obviously, the Taliban doesn’t have such scruples. But imagine our soldiers would have shot the boy: The nutroots would have reported it worldwide just to make our military look like murdering lunatics...

Hamastan: Women to the front!

palestine1.jpg

Hamas member in Palestinian parliament praises female jihadists “who make ‘Jews – the brothers of apes and pigs – taste the bitterness of death'”

Now, certainly Yunis al-Astal will get a barrage of letters from “moderate” clerics the world over telling him jihad is an inner spiritual struggle, right?

Palestinian official: Women must martyr themselves,” from WorldNetDaily:

Yunis Al-Astal: “The most exalted form of jihad is fighting for the sake of Allah, which means sacrificing one’s soul by fighting the enemies head-on, even if it leads to martyrdom. Martyrdom means life next to Allah.
“… When jihad becomes an individual duty, it applies to women too, because women do not differ from men when it comes to individual duties. …”
Interviewer: “What are the purposes behind women’s participation in the jihad of conquest and invasions?”
Yunis Al-Astal: “I have mentioned some of these purposes. [Women] prepare food, they bring water, they tend to the wounded and convey them from the battlefield, they protect the [soldiers’] possessions, and so on. But in many cases, women participated in combat, especially if the Islamic army was weakening, and you could see that the enemy was about to gain the upper hand. In such cases, a woman would draw out her sword, or pull out a pole from her tent, and would resist to the best of her ability.

Intifada breeds female martyrdom-seekers
This intifada of ours has recorded more than 15 exemplary cases of girls who were martyred for the sake of Allah. But not before making the Jews – the brothers of apes and pigs – taste the bitterness of death,
and not before avenging the blood of the martyrs, the wounded, the bereaved, the prisoners, the displaced, those whose homes were destroyed, those whose lands were bulldozed, and all those who were affected by the earthquake of the sons of Zion.”
[…]
Yunis Al-Astal: “When jihad becomes an individual duty, the husband’s permission or consent is not required, because jihad becomes like prayer. Just like a woman does not have to ask for permission to pray, to fast during Ramadhan, or to give charity, she does not need to ask for permission when jihad becomes an individual duty. In my opinion, in places invaded by the enemy, jihad becomes an individual duty.
“War is deceit”:

“With regard to your question about the veil, especially when it comes to martyrdom-seekers who had to go into the Zionist cities deep in Palestine – jihad is a duty, and so is wearing a veil, but the duty of jihad is ten times greater than the duty of wearing a veil.”

My. And I always thought jihad was ‘inner struggle’…

Fisking the Crookes

* Melanie Philips exposes some of the worst Middle Eastern bullshit-artists, rumor and conspiracy mongers, among them the smarmy Robert Fisk and the totally corrupt ex-intelligence agent Alistair Crooke, who has a long history of selling his services to the highest bidders, in this case the Arabs.

An article in Ha’aretz furnishes a revealing insight into how the media’s finest fabricate fairy stories — sorry, fearlessly ferret out the facts about the Middle East. The New Yorker published an article three months ago dealing with the Bush administration’s attitude toward Sunnis and Shi’ites, written by investigative reporter and Pulitzer Prize-winner Seymour Hersh. This claimed that the US was siding with the Sunnis against the Shi’ites in Lebanon, even though this meant it was siding with groups linked to al Qaeda. When Lebanese reporters began investigating the story, however, this is what they found out about its genesis:

Hersh said he heard the story from Robert Fisk, the bureau chief of The Independent’s Beirut office. But Hersh did not check out the story himself. For his part, Fisk said he heard the unconfirmed report from Alastair Crooke, a former British intelligence agent and the founding director and Middle East representative of the Conflicts Forum, a non-profit organization that aims to build a new relationship between the West and the Muslim world. Crooke, who gained his reputation through his involvement in the conflict in Northern Ireland, does not know Arabic. When Lebanese journalists spoke to Crooke about the report, they said he told them only that he had heard it ‘from all kinds of people.’

Those who have read my previous post will doubtless be intrigued to note that yes, yet again all roads seem to lead back to Alastair Crooke and his Conflicts Forum. The more one delves, the more disturbing this becomes. Crooke’s attitude goes far beyond advocating ‘engagement’ with Hamas as a necessary evil, bad as that is in itself. He actually appears to endorse it.

images-15.jpg

Last year Dr Azzam Tamimi, Britain’s principal Hamas supporter, published a book entitled Hamas: The Unwritten Chapters. Here are a few facts about Dr Tamimi. In November 2004, he told the BBC that he was prepared to be a suicide bomber if the opportunity arose. He said that

sacrificing myself for Palestine was a noble cause. It is the straight way to pleasing my God and I would do it if I had the opportunity.

He has repeatedly spoken out in support of Hamas and described its suicide-bomb tactics as ‘the courage of man’. In August 2006, he told the ExpoIslamia convention in Manchester:

Hamas is making sacrifices for you. We tell this government Hamas is not a terrorist group. It is elected by the people of Palestine. We are not terrorists. We are defenders of the truth. Fighting those who invade Muslims is a just cause. The Government is trying to turn the war on terror into the war on Islam.

The preface to Tamimi’s book is written by Alastair Crooke, whom Tamimi describes in the acknowledgments as ‘my dear friend’ and to whom he offers his ‘profound gratitude’. Tamimi is, as I report in the post below, a trustee of Crooke’s Conflicts Forum. So what does his ‘dear friend’ Crooke say in his preface?

He refers to

moderate Islamist movements such as Hamas

which he says

symbolise for many Muslims the hope for real reform and a better society…Hamas stands in the vanguard of movements reflecting a sense of deep Muslim discontent with the present world order as it impacts directly on their societies…Hamas of course also stands for armed resistance…

crooke_alastair.jpgimages-14.jpg

Alistair Crooke / Robert Fisk

Let us remind ourselves that what Crooke refers to as ‘armed resistance’ is the slaughter of Israeli innocents, the intended destruction of Israel and the religiously mandated instruction to kill every Jew (see the Hamas Charter in the post below). Crooke justifies this by claiming that, while the western world considers violence to be acceptable only when it is practised by nation states (he omits to mention the crucial fact that the west considers state violence acceptable only in just wars waged to defend itself against attack), Hamas cannot accept this template because it would mean

acquiescence in the prevailing world order that seeks to impose the terms for a Palestinian state on the basis that the Palestinians view to be manifestly unjust.

Well worth reading, continue…

Meet the red rats from the mainstream media

* A recent survey in France revealed that 94 % of French Journo’s are red-hot commie rat-bags. What kind of democracy do you get when your news is cooked by irresponsible maniacs who feed disinformation to the masses?

flash-as-a-rat-with-a-gold_thumb.jpg

Germany’s media is no different, the rest of Europe hardly differs.

The same goes for Australia.

The US, a perceived bastion of capitalism surprises:

Via Atlas:
MSNBC.com identified 144 journalists who made political contributions from 2004 through the start of the 2008 campaign, according to the public records of the Federal Election Commission. Most of the newsroom checkbooks leaned to the left: 125 journalists gave to Democrats and liberal causes. Only 17 gave to Republicans. hat tip Jay

Two gave to both parties. 9 of 10 journalists support the Democrats.

* There is bad, and there is worse, there is the pits and then comes the New York Times

The New York Times: Mouthpiece for terrorist propaganda

It should come as no surprise that the New York Times elected to give Ahmed Yousef, political adviser to Ismail Haniya, a platform to spew Hamas propaganda. After all, editorial choices like this are what separate the Times from papers that don’t give comfort to the enemy. Last I checked, the U.S. still recognizes Hamas as a terrorist organization. No American media outlet should provide Hamas with the vehicle to express the freedom of speech that Hamas withholds from so many.

Here are some samples;

It has consistently offered a 10-year cease-fire with the Israelis to try to create an atmosphere of calm in which we resolve our differences. Hamas even adhered to a unilateral cease-fire for 18 months in an effort to normalize the situation on the ground. None of these points appear to have been recognized in the press coverage of the last few days.
At what price the ceasefire? Only Israel’s return to the 1967 borders, the right of return for Palestinians, and the release of prisoners held in Israeli jails. These terms seem very similar to those offered to Israel at the Mecca Accord…for a peace treaty!

And what happens after 10 years?? Peace, love and understanding?

Hamas did not adhere to their ceasefire. Not at all. The fact that they were in power since 2006 and did nothing to prevent hundreds of Qassams being fired from Gaza makes them as culpable as anyone.

The press didn’t cover these “facts” simply because they don’t hold water, and because they pale in comparison to the brutality Hamas has displayed.

Nor has it been evident to many people in the West that the civil unrest in Gaza and the West Bank has been precipitated by the American and Israeli policy of arming elements of the Fatah opposition who want to attack Hamas and force us from office.
As always…blame the Americans and Israelis for you insatiable blood lust. And when the Israelis are no longer in Gaza, the Muslims find cause to kill each other. But hey, its not their fault.

Britain’s first Muslim MP to stand down after death threats

Because this is what happens when they try to do the right thing: Britain’s first Muslim MP to stand down after death threats.

sarwarpa_228×345.jpg

Mohammed Sarwar

Moselm loyalties questioned

A Labour MP is stepping down after receiving death threats over his role in bringing three racist killers to justice.
Mohammad Sarwar, who became Britain’s first Muslim MP in 1997, said he feared the lives of his family were also in jeopardy.
He was instrumental in arranging the extradition of Imran Shahid, Zeeshan Shahid and Mohammed Faisal Mushtaq after they fled to Pakistan.
The three were jailed for life last year for the abduction and racially aggravated murder of teenager Kriss Donald, who was kidnapped, tortured and killed in Glasgow in 2004.

Mr Sarwar, 54, told the Daily Record: “Life is not the same, to be honest with you, since I brought them back. I was subjected to threats.
“I was told they wanted to punish my family and make a horrible example of my son – they would do to him what they did to Kriss Donald. I received threats to my life, to murder my sons, to murder my grandchildren.”
Mr Sarwar used his high-level connections in Pakistan to arrange the extradition of the Shahids and Mushtaq.
The trio fled to Pakistan shortly after Kriss’s murder in February 2004, and were brought back after 18 months of negotiations involving the MP and British and Pakistani authorities. The killers were the main players in a violent gang that terrorised the Pollokshields area of Glasgow.
Mr Sarwar said he recognised the risks of trying to bring them to justice but knew that “it was the right thing to do”.
The judge in the case, Lord Uist, said Kriss, 15, had been selected as a victim “only because he was white” and because he was walking in the district where the three men were seeking a victim.
Mr Sarwar, a multimillionaire businessman, was elected as MP for Glasgow Govan in 1997 and re-elected in 2001 with an increased majority.
Following electoral boundary changes he stood for Glasgow Central in 2005 and won by 8,531 votes.
His eldest son Athif, 28, is awaiting sentence after being convicted in April of an £840,000 money laundering scam. Mr Sarwar said his decision to step down had nothing to do with his son’s conviction, which is the subject of an appeal.

The MP said he wanted to spend more time with his family and concentrate on his charity work. He is involved in Pakistan-Foundation International-which helps build hospitals and schools in his native country.
He is also chairman of the UK-wide Muslim Friends of Labour organisation.
Mr Sarwar told BBC Radio Scotland he had been very proud to represent his constituents and said they had shown him great support.
But he added: “The time is now right to move on.
“I am involved in charitable work in Glasgow and Britain.
“I want to spend more time now helping those who are in desperate need of health and education.”
His political career has been marked by considerable controversy.
The former Glasgow city councillor was suspended from the Parliamentary Labour Party over allegations of bribing political opponents, and stood trial for fraud.
However, he was acquitted in March 1999 and restored to the party.
Mr Sarwar says he will stand down at the next election.

US House bars funding for UN rights council

It’s a start, let’s finish the job and stop funding the UN completely.  Considering we are far and away the largest contributor, roughly 25%, why should we be funding an anti-US, anti-Israel, pro-dictator organization….

Step by step, little by little… but better late than never:

AFP

The US House of Representatives moved to prohibit US funding of the UN Human Rights Council, derided by one member as a “poisonous talk shop,” as part of a mammoth funding bill passed early Friday.

The United States has repeatedly expressed frustration with the council over its rules, targets for monitoring — including US ally Israel — and the way it conducts business.

The amendment, to a measure funding the State Department and US diplomacy, passed by unanimous voice vote, and prevents US funding for the overall United Nations budget from being used for the council’s 15 million dollar annual operations.

“We were right to refuse to dignify that poisonous talk-shop with our membership, and we must refuse to support it with our tax dollars,” said Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, the top Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

“By pulling its membership from the broader UN General Assembly without any membership criteria, the council has gone further than its predecessor in giving gross human rights violators the power to shape the international human rights agenda,” Ros-Lehtinen said.

antiunitednations_2.jpg

The council, of which the United States is only an observer, was formed last year to replace the discredited UN Human Rights Commission.

The United States earlier this week said it was disappointed by new rules adopted by the Human Rights Council and accused the fledgling institution of denying its own members voting rights

The 47 members of the Geneva-based council agreed to continue scrutiny of Israel and sought the abolition of independent rights experts monitoring Cuba and Belarus.

The United States said it was also concerned about what it called “procedural irregularities” employed to deny council members the opportunity to vote on the agenda.

In a statement, Ros-Lehtinen’s office faulted the council for failing to condemn genocide in Darfur, the “sprawling gulag of North Korea” and political and rights abuses in Cuba, Belarus, Myanmar and Zimbabwe.

Peanut Khadr is not alone: Here comes Shredder

Here comes Shredder: Schroeder Receives Honorary Doctorate from University of Damascus

20070620-180127_h.jpg

*Another prime-example of the depravity of the corrupt far left, Germany’s ex-chancellor Gerhard Shroeder, the guy who, after leaving office, went straight to work for the Russians, now openly sucks up to our Arab enemies, just like Pelosi, Carter, Clinton, Chirac. Don’t mention words like ‘ethics or morals’- these wankers wouldn’t know the meaning unless it came to bite them in the nose.

Damascus, (SANA) – Former Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schroeder received on Wednesday an honorary doctorate from the University of Damascus in honor of his positive stances towards Arab causes and his belief in dialogue between cultures, international cooperation and coexistence.

On this occasion, Schroeder affirmed Syria’s right to restore the occupied Golan by international law and according to Security Council resolutions 242 and 338, pointing out to the necessity of finding a solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict and restoring rights.

Schroeder called the international community to prioritize security and stability in the Middle East and maintain the unity of Iraq, stressing that the US administration must end its occupation of Iraq via a timetable for withdrawal and the inclusion of neighboring countries in finding a solution for the situation in Iraq.

Schroeder rejected the policy of isolation, pointing out to the importance of encouraging and supporting mutual understanding between cultures and confronting the voices that incite conflict between civilizations.

Obviously Shredder doesn’t realize that this is the 1400-year war of civilizations against barbarity

Peanut Khadr shills for Hamas

Read this one sitting down. “Carter blasts US policy on Palestinians,” by Shawn Pogatchnik for the Associated Press:

DUBLIN, Ireland – Former President Jimmy Carter accused the U.S., Israel and the European Union on Tuesday of seeking to divide the Palestinian people by reopening aid to President Mahmoud Abbas’ new government in the West Bank while denying the same to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.
Carter, a Nobel Peace Prize winner who was addressing a human rights conference in Ireland, also said the Bush administration’s refusal to accept Hamas’ 2006 election victory was “criminal.”
Carter said Hamas, besides winning a fair and democratic mandate that should have entitled it to lead the Palestinian government, had proven itself to be far more organized in its political and military showdowns with Abbas’ moderate Fatah movement.

* Verdict: …..the Dhimmie Carter brokered peace accords were Criminal….
…..Dhimmi Carters love affair with terrorists is Criminal….

Well, to clear up the confusion, just cruise on over to the web site of the Carter Center and take a look at the list of donors who have contributed more than a million dollars. W hat a shock, what a rogues gallery: Prince Alaweed bin Talal, the Sultanate of Oman, Sultan Quobos bin Said al Said, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bakir M binLadin for the Saudi Bin Ladin Group, the Saudi Fund for Development, and the Government of the United Arab Emirates.

These are the very same people and states who have been financing jihad all over the globe and fomenting some of the most vicious anti-Jewish hatred the world has ever seen. As Jimmy Carter makes the rounds of the various mainstream media news shows I’m waiting for one honest reporter to ask the former President this simple question: “Mr. President, are you a paid agent of Arab jihadist governments?”

Thanks to Rosie

Hugh Fitzgerald rips Peanut Khadr here:

His deep solicitude for “the Palestinian people” is not new. But it is not based on much more than his palpable dislike of those who are the main victims of that “Palestinian people” as the shock troops of the Lesser Jihad agains Israel — the Jews of Israel.

Carter’s complete lack of sympathy or even understanding of the and the asymmetry in aims might surprise some. Israel, after all, simply wishes to live, not destroy the twenty-two Arab Muslim states, and would like to concede to the local Arabs as much autonomy as it can, consistent with Israel’s security, but the local Arabs have made that almost impossible. The Arabs want to eliminate Israel and the Slow Jihadists and Fast Jihadists differ only on such matters as tactics and timing. The asymmetry in population (350 million against 6 million Jews in Israel), and in resources (some ten trillion dollars in oil revenues for the Arabs and Muslims, as well as hundreds of billions, over the years, in the disguised Jizyah of foreign aid from America, Western Europe, and even, in the old days, from Eastern Europe and Russia, while Israel has, and only in recent decades, begun to receive American aid for which it has had to pay dearly in the concessions it has constantly been pressured to make by successive American admnistrations, not least at Camp David by Carter and Brzezinski). And Carter’s lying — that is what it is – in his latest book, about the history of Arab-Israeli negotiation, and his failure, even in the last two decades when he was free to begin to read about the history of Islamic conquests, about Jihad and the subjugation of non-Muslims, had all the time in the world to find out about Muslim attitudes, about Dar al-Islam and Dar al-Harb, had all the time in the world to discover why it is that the Arabs will never honor any of their treaties with Israel, had the time to read deeply in the history of the conflict, and in the history, and intent, of the Mandate for Palestine as set up by the League of Nations, had a chance to find out the demographic and cadastral history of the area under the Ottomans, and then during the Mandatory period, when Jews were kept out by the British at a time when they might have been saved from the Nazis, and illegal Arab immigration continued unchecked, drawn by the new economic opportunities created by the Zionist effort, throughout the Mandatory period.

He did none of these things, and never felt he had to. A classic, smiling, self-righteous antisemite, sure of himself, sure that he cannot possibly be accused of antisemitism because, you see, he deplores the Nazi concentration camps (that’s a tough one) and furthermore, he knows, “in his heart,” that he is “friend of Israel.”

And now we see that he is also, even more deeply and much more convincingly, a “friend of Hamas” as he was, only yesterday, a friend of Fatah and Abbas and the spirit of his special friend, to whom he offered all kinds of unsolicited advice on how to present the “Palestinian case” more plausibly to American audiences — wasnt’ that something? — Yassir Arafat.

Which circle of Hell for Carter? Which bolgia?

I support Hezbollah: Aussie cleric

* How did these people get into the country? Why do we put up with this?

THE nation’s most senior Shia Muslim cleric has attacked John Howard for backing Israel against Arabs and openly declared his allegiance to the Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah.
Kamal Mousselmani — head of the Supreme Islamic Shia Council of Australia — said yesterday his entire community considered Hezbollah a “resistance group”, not a terrorist network, and lashed the Howard Government over its support for Israel.

“They (the Australian Government) are encouraging terrorism,” the Lebanese-born cleric told The Weekend Australian in an interview conducted in Arabic. “Australia is encouraging Israel to kill our people daily. Write that down, we are not afraid of anyone.”

Sheik Mousselmani said all of Australia’s approximately 30,000 Shi’ites were avid supporters of Hezbollah (Party of God) and haters of Israel.

“Shia in Australia consider Israel a terrorist organisation and also view those who support Israel in the same light,” he said. “That’s what we believe.

“If Australia supports Israel, they are defending terrorism. Because we believe terrorists come from Israel — not from our people — I support Hezbollah.”

Hezbollah’s military arm, the External Security Organisation, is a proscribed terrorist organisation in Australia, and supporting Hezbollah’s political and military wings is illegal under UN counter-terrorist financing declarations.

Sheik Mousselmani said Hezbollah was responsible for financially assisting and providing food and shelter for victims of the 34-day war in southern Lebanon last year.

The cleric said neither he nor Hezbollah condoned suicide terrorism missions.

“We are against the suicide bombings going on around the world,” he said.

“And Hezbollah is against it.

“Our opinion is that Hezbollah is not a terrorist group. We consider Hezbollah a resistance group. Put those words down, we are not afraid to say that.”

Sheik Mousselmani’s comments come as national security agencies step up their investigation into the Shia community in Australia, which until now has not been as closely monitored as the Sunni Muslims.

The Weekend Australian understands security authorities are monitoring financial transactions between community members and organisations abroad.

Sydney’s Arncliffe Mosque, the largest Shia place of worship in Australia, and Melbourne’s Fawkner Mosque are also understood to be of interest to the authorities.

Sheik Mousselmani confirmed his community sent money to war victims in Lebanon following last year’s conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, but said none of the money went to Shia militants.

“People send money to their families … just like Greek people and Chinese people send to their families,” he said.

“No one from our community sends money directly to Hezbollah. Hezbollah is not expecting us to send them money. They don’t need our money.”

Asked if his organisation would send money if Hezbollah were to ask for it, he said: “If they need it, that would be an entirely different matter.”

Sheik Mousselmani said there was no threat of his views radicalising young Shia men in Australia because Hezbollah’s ideology was limited to Lebanon. His community was law-abiding and would staunchly oppose any attack against Australia.

“None of our people think this way,” said Sheik Mousselmani, rejecting extremism. “We love Australia, we respect Australia, we are part of the multicultural society. We protect Australia and we work for Australia.

“But it does not mean we like Israel. If John Howard wants George Bush and Israel, that’s his problem. We’ve got nothing to do with him.”

Sheik Mousselmani said Hezbollah did not have a branch in Australia.

“Hezbollah is not operating outside of Lebanon,” he said. “Hezbollah is defending Lebanon against Israel. We either back Hezbollah or we back Israel, and Israel is killing our people.”

He said the Arncliffe Mosque, Al Zahra, in Sydney’s inner south, was strictly a place of worship and was never used as a political platform.

The 36-year-old cleric dismissed claims his community received funds from Iran to spread the ideology of religious hardliners in Tehran.

He said the Shia community in Australia took its religious orders and advice from Iraq’s supreme Islamic leader, Grand Ayatollah Ali Husaini al-Sistani. “The Shia community has nothing to hide.”
