Wilders detained, barred from entering Britain: "It is a very sad day, not only for me, but for freedom of speech"

* Even the libtarded TIMES comes out in support of Wilders:

It is a common notion that the right to free speech must be held in balance with the requirement to avoid needless offence. That is a mistake. The right to oppose, mock, deride and even insult people’s beliefs is essential to a society where bad ideas are superseded by better ones. There is no right to have one’s emotional sensibilities protected, for it is no business of government to legislate for people’s feelings.

Wilders’ exclusion caused a diplomatic spat between the Netherlands and Britain.

Excerpts from JW

“It is highly regrettable that a Dutch MP (member of parliament) should be denied entry to another EU country,” Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen said in a statement on the Dutch Embassy’s British web site.

It said Verhagen had telephoned David Miliband to “express his displeasure” that a Dutch member of parliament had been excluded.

Miliband defended the decision. “A hate-filled film designed to stir up religious and racial hatred (which race is Islam, Milliboy..?/ed) in this country is contrary to our laws,” he told the BBC….

Oh, yeah, Miliband? Not that there are any Islamic jihadists in the UK are trying to stir up religious hatred, eh wot? Oh no, only Wilders is doing that!

* Okay, lets check out where Miliband comes from, here is an example:

In an interview on BBC, 2009.02.12, regarding Geert Wilders:  ”His film is hateful and racist. … I haven’t seen this film, no, but you and I we both know exactly what’s in it. We’re not stupid. … According to our law, we cannot allow such racial hatred.”

TREASON

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly. But the traitor moves among those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the galleys, heard in the very hall of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor—he speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and wears their face and their garment, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men (The “Jews” are humiliating the Palestinians?). He rots the soul of a nation—he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city—he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared…….Cicero, 42 B.C.E.

* Mail Online comes out in strong support of Wilders, lots of pic’s…

Official: David Miliband’s family lied to enter UK: The Times, 2008.04.06

* Denmark: 50% of immigrants want to criminalize criticism of religion/80% of ethnic Danes reject a ban. We have to remember  that when it says “criticizing religion” it means “criticizing Islam” – Muslims rejoice in insulting Jews, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs et al.

Of course, then there is this from Mark Steyn at The Corner (thanks to Pamela):

As to the judgment of the British Home Office, they have no problem admitting to the United Kingdom the likes of Dr Ijaz Mian, who preached as follows at the Ahl-e-Hadith mosque in Derby:

You cannot accept the rule of the kaffir. We have to rule ourselves and we have to rule the others… King, Queen, House of Commons: if you accept it, you are a part of it. If you don’t accept it, you have to dismantle it. So you being a Muslim, you have to fix a target. From that White House to this Black House, we know we have to dismantle it. Muslims must grow in strength, then take over… You are in a situation in which you have to live like a state-within-a-state – until you take over.

And so it goes: Multiculti England will tolerate any intolerance, except the guy who points out the intolerance. We can’t tolerate that.

Miliband Imbecile says 'war on terror' was wrong

* Sure, the ‘War on Terror’ is a misnomer. We know the enemy is Islam. But denial and obfuscation and further prevarications just reveal the imbecilic nature of those who are sworn to protect us. It is mind-boggling that many of our politicians  miserably fail to understand the basics of the threat.

Britain’s Foreign Secretary says ‘war on terror’ was wrong

‘War on terror’ was wrong

The phrase gives a false idea of a unified global enemy, and encourages a primarily military reply

  • Thursday 15 January 2009

The terrorist attacks in Mumbai seven weeks ago sent shock waves around the world. Now all eyes are fixed on the Middle East, where Israel’s response to Hamas’s rockets, a ferocious military campaign, has already left a thousand Gazans dead.

Seven years on from 9/11 it is clear that we need to take a fundamental look at our efforts to prevent extremism and its terrible offspring, terrorist violence. Since 9/11, the notion of a “war on terror” has defined the terrain. The phrase had some merit: it captured the gravity of the threats, the need for solidarity, and the need to respond urgently – where necessary, with force. But ultimately, the notion is misleading and mistaken. The issue is not whether we need to attack the use of terror at its roots, with all the tools available. We must. The question is how.
