Where the hell is Sherifa Zuhur when you need her? Don’t you think she should explain to this misunderstander of Islam that kidnapping is totally un-Islamic the way she explains it to  young recruits at the U.S. Army War College?

This could have been an opportunity to come clean, Sherifa. Why don’t you state clearly that kidnapping and hostage taking is an essential part of Mohammedan warfare, dating back to Muhammad and the 7th century?  Try the truth for once! Wouldn’t that be a better way to get  a job?

Any chance Hezbollah Spy Nada Nadim Prouty (a convicted felon) and her new lawyer, Mark Zaid, are friends of yours Sherifa?

Shaykhyermami. Cease and desist your slander! I don’t condone kidnapping, or violence. I have explained why Muslims are not allowed (religiously) to engage in violence against prisoners in the context of historical examples, see the monograph, Islamic Rulings on War co-authored with Youssef Aboul Enein. There are NO “Muhammadans” as we do not worship Muhammad! Dr. Metz’ is correct that we do not teach “gullible recruits” but he is wrong in suggesting that I did not teach Thanks to his perennial persecution, a sexual harassment complaint which the College refused to acknowledge, pro-Zionist slander like yours and Haaretz’ and the College’s discrimination, I am no longer on the faculty. My duties included research, writing, and teaching “when requested.” It is true that I was not a “course director” – but I did teach for several years in the Middle East Regional Course. I had input into curriculum, and my sophisticated students were not damaged by my religious views. I would have continued teaching but the course director admitted under oath that he was directed to not to allow me to teach, although he thereafter invited me to “guest-teach” twice. On one such occasion, SSI prevented me from lecturing 5 minutes before the lecture; on the second occasion, I gave the lecture w/o incident.

Thanks for the character assassination! No, I am NOT an enemy agent. It is not a crime in the United States to be a Muslim or a specialist writing about Islamist movements.
The “email” you refer to regarding my comments on two older monographs is from a UCLA interview posted online. No, Islam — mainstream Islam — does NOT promote kidnappings and violence against civilians. Do you want an Army that promotes violence against Muslims? Or do you want real analysis of world events? Hard to tell from this website. SZ

First of all,  let me ask you: do you want an army that promotes violence against Jews?

So you’re not an enemy agent? You are not a supporter of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hizb ut Tahrir, Abu Sayyaf, the Muslim Brotherhood, Jemiyah Islamiyah  or Hezbollah,  which are all designated terrorist organizations? You don’t support the Taliban or Al Qaeda? Are you not a supporter of the unindicted coconspirator CAIR? You don’t agree with this statement from a former CAIR employee:  “The Ikhwan must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.” ???

Is it not your religious obligation to remove all obstacles to the spread of Islam in the US where you have settled behind enemy lines, Sherifa? You don’t do da’awa?  You are not a mole like Hesham Islam in the state department? You don’t believe the traditions of your prophet, wherein it is written:  “The hour of judgment shall not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them, so that the Jews hide behind trees and stones, and each tree and stone will say: ‘Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him,’ except for the Gharqad tree, for it is the tree of the Jews.” (Sahih Muslim, Book 41, Number 6985) and you don’t make pig noises when talking about Jews? (Koran 5:60)

Yes, Sherifa,  you are right: it is -not yet- “a crime to be a Muslim or a specialist writing about Islamist movements”.

However, if  you’re a specialist, as you claim, and you are entrusted with lecturing our troops (who will deal with Muslims in the battlefield) then why do you teach falsehoods  that contradict  Islamic scriptures? 

Are you sure you are not another Nada Nadim Prouty? Are you not on the same wavelength with Aafia Siddiqui? You don’t support Sami al-Arian? Why not?

As a scholar, why don’t you back your claim that Islam does NOT promote kidnappings and violence against civilians with the relevant sura or hadith? Since Robert Spencer has already put your false claims through the shredder, would you like me to do the same?

“Operations to capture enemy soldiers and trade them for our heroic prisoners are at the heart of our people’s culture, and are a source of pride for them and their resistance,” Abu-Ubaida added.
