HE has been convicted of raping three women passengers and yet taxi driver Hassan Nagi walked free from court on bail yesterday.
Despite subjecting his victims to violent assaults, the serial predator will remain at liberty until late April, when he is sentenced.
Nagi, 37, was granted bail in the local court soon after his arrest in January last year. After he pleaded guilty in the District Court yesterday to assaulting three passengers in 2003, 2006 and 2007, prosecutors did not oppose his release on continuing bail and it was granted by Judge James Bennett.
Nagi was only charged with the earlier rapes after his DNA, taken from his most recent victim, was linked to the other earlier cases.
He had planned to fight the charges, arguing that he should face separate trials over each incident.
But after Judge Bennett ordered that the cases be tried together and allowed prosecutors to highlight similarities between the attacks, he confessed.
The married father of three, who cried when admitting to the rapes, faces a lengthy jail term.
Yesterday two of his victims looked on, one wiping away tears, as he pleaded guilty to six charges of sexual intercourse without consent.
The court heard that in June 2007, Nagi picked up a 27-year-old woman outside a football match in Kogarah, driving her to an industrial area.
He unzipped his pants and forced her into sex, pushing her face-first on to the ground. She managed to escape from the taxi when it stopped at traffic lights.
Police took DNA samples from Nagi after his arrest, linking him to two “strikingly similar” cases involving victims aged 23 and 31.
In December 2006, Nagi raped the younger woman after picking her up outside a Kings Cross nightclub. He laughed at her during the assault and afterwards offered her $20, increasing it to $50 when she refused to accept it.
The other victim, raped in the back of his cab in July 2003, was also picked up outside a Kings Cross nightclub.
Drunk and vulnerable, she could not fight him off as he told her: “You know you want this.”
Nagi will be sentenced by Judge Bennett in April.

Don't curse us, don't threaten us with death or hellfire, and don't accuse us of being "just like the terrorists" because we don't do to Muslims what they do to us or to themselves. Yes, we know that only idiots oppose Islam and sensible people submit, but you should know that we are ignorant bigots, hypocrites and Islamophobes, and we prefer to remain that way...
But since you are forcing yourselves (and your abhorrent belief-system on us) we will defend ourselves, because we must. Avoid tu quoque and ad hominem attacks. Don't bother with circular reasoning either, we been there, done it. If you annoy us, you will be banned and your posts summarily deleted.
Try to add to the discussion, don't try to sell snake oil, don't try to cover us with Islamic shrouds of kitman and taqiyya, don't bother with da'awa, (we've heard it before) don't spam us with long pieces of cut & paste, write in English, try to tell the truth,
(we know that's hard for you because you are all pathological liars) but the truth will set you free, try it!
One more thing: don't think you can post here under multiple monikers. You will quickly be disappeared! The same goes for
trufers and conspiracy kooks: you get one chance, one time. Blow it out of your ass if you must; put your stupidity on display.

Take a deep breath before you post, try to make some sense, do not just vent, do not make a fool of yourself and if you prove us wrong you can earn 10 Islamic dollars for your piggy bank. Deal?

OT, but “moderate muslim” Ikebal Patel stands by his statement that the “victims of
the Holocaust [are] now perpetrating much worse atrocities against the Palestinians”,
but probably underestimated the sensitivity of the term “Holocaust” …
Update: Nagi has been jailed for 9+ years. He will be able to work on his “Don Juan-ism” sex addiction in the shower block, while his lawyer is free to practice:
