Benedict went ahead with a busy day Saturday, his third in Britain, as six men arrested in an alleged terror attempt against him remained in police custody. Police staged a pre-dawn raid Friday on a garbage depot and arrested five street cleaners; a sixth person was arrested later in the day.
Police have arrested five suspected Islamist terrorists planning to assassinate the Pope.The men were arrested during raids at 5.45am at a business premises in central London based on an intelligence tip off received overnight.
The suspects, aged 26, 27, 36, 40 and 50 were arrested by officers from Scotland Yard’s Counter Terrorism Command on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
They are said to be from a variety of nationalities including a number of Algerian origin.
The men have been taken to a central London police station where they will be interviewed by detectives.
Searches are being carried out under the Terrorism Act 2000 at the business premises and at residential premises in north and east London….

“Sky News crime correspondent Martin Brunt said he understood the men were Algerian nationals employed by the agency to work for Westminster City Council.
He said they were due to clean streets around the House of Commons, where the Pope is due to speak, prompting police to launch the operation to arrest them.”
Algerians? Why are Algerian nationals
1) allowed to be employed when there are many unemployed in Great Britain, not all of whom are adherents of an ideology that inculcates the need to remove — by murder if necessary — all obstacles to the spread, and then the dominance, of Islam?
2) allowed to be employed street-cleaning right around the Houses of Parliament?
3) allowed to live in Great Britain at all. They are not citizens. What are they doing there? How many hundreds of thousands of such people are living in London, living in Great Britain? Why?
Finally, is there any well-informed person left in the Western world who would dare to take issue with the following statement:

Probably they’re simply working illegally. They could be failed asylum seekers who “cannot” be deported to Algeria because their views or previous acts are so extreme that they rightly fear their own government (same reason the Royal Navy don’t want to capture Somali pirates). Another possibility is that they have French citixenship.
