West Midlands Keystone Cops must apologize and pay £100,000 to filmmakers

Thanks to Pamela/Atlas Shrugs

This is unbelievable. The police accused the filmmakers who made ‘Undercover Mosques’ of hate speech and inciting racial hatred for recording imam’s hate speeches in a documentary on mosques. Needless to say the police had to apologize and pay.

From Al Bebeeceera

West Midlands Police and the Crown Prosecution Service have apologised for accusing the makers of a Channel 4 documentary of distortion.
The apology and the promise of £100,000 were made at the High Court on Thursday.
It follows comments made about a Dispatches programme, Undercover Mosque, which tackled claims of Islamic extremism in the West Midlands.
The police statement said the force was wrong to make the allegations.
A press release issued by the police and the CPS in August 2007 claimed the Dispatches programme, broadcast in January of that year, misrepresented the views of Muslim preachers and clerics with misleading editing.

‘Damage and distress’

One preacher was shown saying a homosexual should be thrown off a mountain, another that women were born deficient.

Police also reported Channel 4 to television watchdog Ofcom for “heavily editing” the words of Islamic imams.
But in November, Ofcom rejected the police and CPS claims, and Channel 4 said it was going to sue the CPS and police for libel.
The statement, released to the media after the High Court hearing by West Midlands Police, said they accepted there had been no evidence that Channel 4 or the documentary makers had “misled the audience or that the programme was likely to encourage or incite criminal activity”.
It added that the Ofcom report showed the documentary had “accurately represented the material it had gathered and dealt with the subject matter responsibly and in context”.
The police statement concluded: “We accept, without reservation, the conclusions of Ofcom and apologise to the programme makers for the damage and distress caused by our original press release.”
Bigotry and extremism
Kevin Sutcliffe, deputy head of current affairs at Channel 4, said the apology was a vindication of the programme team in exposing extreme views.
“Channel 4 was fully aware of the sensitivities surrounding the subject matter but recognised the programme’s findings were clearly a matter of important public interest.
“The authorities should be doing all they can to encourage investigations like this, not attempting to publicly rubbish them for reasons they have never properly explained,” he said.
David Henshaw, executive producer of Hardcash Productions, who made the documentary, said it was a thorough and detailed programme, made over nine months and at personal risk to the undercover reporter.
Channel 4 boss Julian Bellamy said they had had no choice but to pursue action when the police and CPS refused to withdraw their remarks.
The programme infiltrated a number of mosques, one of which was Green Lane Mosque in Small Heath, Birmingham.
An undercover reporter claimed to provide evidence that certain speakers preached messages of religious bigotry and extremism.
Police initially investigated whether three of the people shown in the programme could be prosecuted for inciting terrorism or racial hatred.
But they later switched their attention to the documentary makers, suggesting they may have been guilty of stirring up racial hatred.
Channel 4 said £50,000 would be donated to the Rory Peck Trust for freelance journalists and their families.
The broadcaster will also receive £50,000 to cover legal costs.

* This is what happens when you have Muhammedan infil-traitors in the police force. Apparently an ‘Asian’ called Anil Pattani led the police investigation.

* What does it take to arrest a Muslim these days? A bomb strapped to their chest?

Sadly, no. This chap was observed dressed as a suicide bomber at the London Mo-toons protest in Feb 2006 but the police just stood and watched. They did go to speak with him at his home address later (having realised he was a known scumbag) but he wasn’t in.

If you are a Muslim in the UK you have to do something pretty spectacular to get noticed by the police.

The 'Islamophobia' Propaganda Machine, Useful Idiots & Orwellian Turnspeak

By Jeffrey Imm

What do the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC), and the Daily Kos all have in common? They are all seeking to define the enemy as other than “jihadists”.

A. Daily Kos: Jihad “Not Terrorism”

Three weeks after AP’s report of the NCTC/DHS recommendations to eliminate the term “jihadist” (among others) from the lexicon describing Jihadist terrorism, the latest salvo in this “war of ideas” was published on the popular Daily Kos web site by “Amad” on May 12: “Who Speaks for Islam? Part 3b: Jihad, Religion & Politics”. The Daily Kos author states that to “most Muslims, jihad implies honor and sacrifice for others”, and “[u]sing jihad and terrorism as synonyms is wrong and counterproductive” — seeking to define the threat as “extremism”. The article also expands on the real cause of “extremism” as “disrespect for Islam”, “aggressive” U.S. foreign policy, and “double-standards exhibited by the US on democracy and human-rights”. It quotes a student at the American University of Cairo as condemning U.S. foreign policy: “Bush has given Israel carte blanch to attack Palestinians and Lebanese. The war on terror is an open-ended war on Muslims.”

Daily Kos provides a biography on “Amad” stating: “Amad runs MuslimMatters.org… [and]… was one of the founders of Texas Dawah.” Amad’s blogroll on Daily Kos promotes MuslimMatters.org and CAIR. What Daily Kos does not mention is who some of the participants at Texas Dawah meetings and at the MuslimMatters.org website are, as they include supporters of jihadist groups, unindicted co-conspirators in U.S. terror trials, and supporters of the Taliban.

Rotten to the core: Hamas killer rabbit & dirty old man claim Tel Aviv was 'Tel Al-Rabi'

* Cooking history so they can hate us better:

The Hamas grievance mill is ever-churning, teaching the youngest children to hate Jews and aspire to kill them. In this latest video, the rabbit that wants to kill Jews and eat them up gets a history lesson from his grandfather, all about his wonderful city, Tel Al-Rabi’, which has been seized by the Zionists and renamed Tel Aviv. He has the property deed, he has his house key — oh, the poor man!

The only problem with this particular grievance is that it’s entirely fictional. Tel Aviv was founded by Jews in 1909. There never was an Arab city named Tel Al-Rabi’. The whole presentation here is simply designed to buttress the flimsy “Palestinian” claim to “stolen land” — which is in itself a figleaf for the jihad against Israel, which isn’t about land at all, but about the insult of an infidel nation-state on land Muslims claim as their own.

“Grandfather of Hamas TV Bunny Assud Insists Tel Aviv Was a Palestinian City,” from MEMRITV

* And tomorrow California will be called ‘Al Caliphate’

Following is an excerpt from the Hamas Children’s show “The Pioneers of Tomorrow,” which aired on Al-Aqsa TV on May 9, 2008:
Assud the Bunny: Grandpa, where did you live? In what city?

Grandpa: We used to live in the most beautiful place in Palestine.

Assud: Where?

Grandpa: My dear, you’ve never seen such a place. I used to live in Tel Al-Rabi’ [the Arab word for “spring,” which is “Aviv” in Hebrew]. What a beautiful place. My God, when I recall Tel Al-Rabi’, which the Zionists have called…

Assud: There’s no such place called Tel Al-Rabi’. What’s the matter, Grandpa? Have you gone senile?

Grandpa: I’m not senile. My head is working just fine. How can you say I’m senile? This place was called Tel Al-Rabi’, but the Zionists and Jews Hebraicized the name to “Tel Aviv.” Where did this “Tel Aviv” come from? It has been Tel Al-Rabi’ for generations, on the land of Palestine, right next to Yafa. How can you say I’ve gone senile? I know this. My head still works just fine. Are you trying to confuse me? I’m not senile yet. I have documents and proof. I have all the papers here. The documents are right here with me. How can you say I’m senile? I have all the documents with me. Here they are. Everything is here, from the days of the British and even before. This is our land, as well as the fields, the trees, and the houses. I can even show you the key. You’re calling me senile? I have proof.

Assud: Forgive me, Grandpa, it’s not our fault. It’s the fault of the school curricula, which did not teach us that Tel Aviv is in fact Tel Al-Rabi’, and vice versa.

Grandpa: No, my dear, take it from me. I know, and I have the papers and the land deeds. The name Tel Al-Rabi’ has been forged by the Jews and Hebraicized to “Tel Aviv.” They invented all these names. “Ashdod” is, in fact, Isdud. “Ashkelon” is, in fact, Al-Majdal. Where did they get these names? Al-Sab’ is called “Beer Sheva”! It’s all a lie. There are all pseudonyms. Yafa, Al-Lydd, Al-Ramla, Al-Sab’ – they changed all these names and Hebraicized them, and now they say: That’s Tel Al-Rabi’? There is no such thing. It’s Tel Aviv. It’s all a lie. All these names were Hebraicized by the Jews.

Fitzgerald: The end of Lebanon

* Lifted from JW

The end of Lebanon dates from that day, in 1982, when Bashir Gemayel was blown up — the same day he, in a speech, first used the word “dhimmitude.” Lebanon was always the redoubt and refuge of Christians, who found in the mountainous region, the Mountain of Lebanon, Mont Liban, a place where, far from the centers of Islam, they could survive. But they didn’t reproduce enough, and the Muslims outbred them. And the Muslim Arabs known as the “Palestinians” contributed to the demographic degringolade.

However, proximity to those Christians did raise the level of the local Muslims, or at least some of them. In the case of Lebanon, it was the Sunni merchant class.

And power, which had been carefully distributed between Christians, Sunnis, and Shi’a (with the Druse also not being forgotten) according to the census of 1935, remained intelligently split. However, after World War II, slowly but surely, the French withdrew as protectors of the Maronites. The Maronites were the most self-assured and least “Arab” of the Christians. They knew that their presence in the area predated the arrival of the Arabs and of Islam, and they did not make the mistake of thinking that the linguistic and cultural imperialism of the Arabs, a natural accompaniment of the arrival of Muslims, made them into Arabs — that is, into more than “Arabic-using” Lebanese.

And then the Americans came in, in 1956, to rescue the old order, but that was it. The “Palestinian” Arabs kept multiplying, and in their villages (called, quite inaccurately, “refugee camps”), where their needs were met by UNRWA, they had time to plot and plan. They destabilized and they threatened, now the Christians here, now the Shi’a there.

India: "We did it"- terror outfit brags in video

* Al Qaeda- Al Schmaeda Confusion:

JAIPUR/NEW DELHI: A little-known outfit, Indian Mujahideen , has claimed responsibility for carrying out the fatal blasts in Jaipur on Tuesday. And to buttress its claim, it sent video clips to the media of a cycle strapped with a bag that it claimed held the bomb. (Watch)

* It is totally irrelevant what these groups call themselves or whether they are affiliated with AQ, to keep looking for an AQ connection when terror is clearly committed in the name of Islam we don’t need to engage in mental acrobatics and fall into the jihadist trap. The terror comes from the Koran and the mosque, full stop.

*  The Illustrated PIG has the awful picture show from Jaipur

As cops groped for clues to crack the serial blasts in Jaipur, the mysterious video of a brand new cycle added a new twist to the investigations.

While such claims in the aftermath of a major terror attack are not uncommon and have even been used by the real culprits to throw the investigators off the trail, what lends credence to the claim in this instance is that terrorist groups used an identical email ID to announce the blasts in Uttar Pradesh in November 2006.

The video was sent to the media in the capital by Indian Mujahideen late on Wednesday evening. It mentioned the number — 129489 — etched on the frame of the cycle shown in the clip. The Mujahideen claimed that the cycle was the one that was used for the explosion at Kotwali near Choti Chaupad.

In the case of the UP blasts, the email was sent from an internet cafe in New Delhi’s Shakarpur locality half an hour before the explosives went off in Varanasi, Faizabad and Lucknow.

The ID used this time is marginally different.

While the ID used for claiming the UP blasts was “guru_alhindi@yahoo.fr”, this time the ID is “guru_alhindi_jaipur@yahoo.co.uk”. Tuesday’s mail came with three attachments of videos showing the cycles strapped with bags that apparently had the bombs.

Resume talks with MILF or risk war: think-tank

Agence France-Presse

The Philippines should resume talks with Muslim separatists, or risk renewed fighting in the troubled south between government forces and the insurgents, the International Crisis Group (ICG) warned Wednesday.

Manila must jumpstart talks with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in order to consolidate gains made in parallel US-backed operations against Abu Sayyaf militants, the Brussels-based think-tank said in a new report.

Philippines: Anti terrorism tactics could worsen conflict, says think-tank

Manila, 14 May (AKI) – Counter terrorism efforts could backfire in the Philippines and lead to fresh conflict between Manila and Islamic rebels on the southern island of Mindanao, an international think-tank warned on Wednesday.

In its latest report, the International Crisis Group claimed that US-backed security operations risked pushing members of the Abu Sayyaf Group to join broader insurgencies led by two other groups – the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and the Moro National Liberation Front.

John Virgoe, the group’s South-east Asia director, said that this miscalculation could lead to renewed conflict between Manila and the two Islamist groups.

“The number of terrorists in the Philippines is small, relative to the mass-based insurgencies in which they take cover. But the ASG and its allies remain dangerous because of their potential to drag the latter back into war,” Virgoe said.

Abu Sayyaf is an offshoot of the radical wing of the MNLF. The MILF, the Philippines’ largest rebel Islamic group, was also established by a dissident wing of the MNLF.

While Abu Sayyaf is considered a terror organisation, the MNLF, which signed a peace agreement in 1996, was recognised as a rebel organisation that fought for the independence of the Moro people.

The Moro people are known as the Muslim and indigenous tribal inhabitants of Mindanao and the Sulu archipelago.

The MILF has carried on its struggle and tainted it with more religious tones. It is currently holding peace talks with Manila – a fragile process that started over ten years ago.

ICG argues that the crux of counter-terrorism in the Philippines is to separate terrorists from insurgents and strengthen the political dialogue with the militant groups – MNLF and MILF.

* Think about that:  all we need to do is  to “separate terrorists from insurgents” , that is the crux! Now all we need is the Soros group to show us how to ‘ to separate terrorists from insurgents’ and all problems are solved!

Kit Collier, a consultant for ICG based in the Philippines, said that the so-called Mindanao Model employed by the security forces against Abu Sayyaf is complicating the situation further.

The Mindanao model combines military operations with civic action against the Abu Sayyaf Group and has been widely heralded as a success.

“The model involves using counterinsurgency techniques for counter-terrorism goals, but the only way the Philippines will effectively manage domestic terrorism is to secure the cooperation of the MILF and MNLF,” Collier said.

*  So all you need to do is you ‘secure the cooperation of the terrorists in order to fight the terrorists?‘ Too easy! Consider it done!

“That requires concrete progress toward formal peace agreements, the gains of the Mindanao Model’ could be short-lived.”

* Back to the old ‘peace agreement’- a piece of paper will fix it?

In the report, the Brussels-based organisation urged the Filipino government to revive the ad hoc joint action group.

Designed to facilitate information-sharing between the Filipino government and the MILF, it was critical to the prevention of conflict escalation in 2005-2007 when the search for terrorists intensified.

After a six-month hiatus, its mandate was formally extended in November 2007 but is not yet fully restored.

The think-tank also called for a similar arrangement to be developed with the MNLF.

“But the leadership of both insurgencies will only be willing to provide information on terrorists in their midst as part of a political endgame and the Philippines government is stalling while the US appears more focused on economic aid than political agreements,” ICG stated.

PHILIPPINES: CHRISTIANS FEAR FAILED PACT INCREASES RISK OF REPRISALS

Frustrated Muslim demand for larger autonomous region in Mindanao could lead to war.

DUBLIN, October 6 (Compass Direct News) – Militant Islamists in the Philippine island of Mindanao have stepped up their attacks on majority-Christian villages following the failure of a peace agreement that would have enlarged an existing Muslim autonomous region there. With Muslim commanders of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in the southern Philippines yesterday saying ongoing support from the international community was necessary to prevent full-scale war breaking out in Mindanao, both Muslim and Christian residents in the disputed territories were fearful of what the future might hold. “The problem is that many people living in these areas don’t want to be part of a Muslim autonomous region,” a source in Mindanao who preferred to remain anonymous told Compass. “The closer you get to these zones, the more nervous people are.” A Christian family from the area said many people were afraid to sleep at night because they kept hearing reports that they would be attacked at midnight.

Australia: Government may pursue Iran for inciting hatred

*  Hmm. Don’t hold your breath: seems to be a rather KRuddish attempt at grandstanding.  As soon as there is a bit of a blow-back this one will fizzle out like the brouhaha against Japanese whalers…

*  Thug-in-Chief: “The Zionist regime is dying … The criminals assume that by holding celebrations … they can save the sinister Zionist regime from death and annihilation.”

Canberra, 14 May (AKI) – The Australian government is preparing to prosecute Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the International Court of Justice for inciting hatred against Israel.

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd says the government is getting legal advice on whether Australia could take action against the Iranian president.

The government first raised the idea that it would try to take the Iranian leader to the international court last year.

On Wednesday, Rudd told the Sky television news channel that Ahmadinejad’s repeated comments about eliminating Israel were appalling.

“They are an incitement to international violence,” he said.

“What we have said in the past is that we will take legal advice, which the attorney-general is currently doing, in terms of whether there is a profitable way forward here through the appropriate international legal mechanisms.”

Attorney-general Robert McClelland also told The Australian newspaper that the government was seeking legal advice on taking Ahmadinejad to the ICJ.

“The government considers the comments made by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, calling for the destruction of Israel and questioning the existence of the holocaust, to be repugnant and offensive,” McClelland told The Australian.

“The government is currently taking advice on this matter.”

He told the newspaper there was a potential for loss of life if international legal mechanisms were not pursued.

Australia is the only country in the world pursuing Iran’s leader for allegedly “inciting genocide” and denying the holocaust.

McClelland, a minister in the centre left Labor government elected last year, pushed for the campaign against Ahmadinejad when he was foreign affairs spokesman while in opposition.

Before the election in 2007 Rudd promised the Jewish community he would take legal proceedings against Ahmadinejad to the ICJ.
