Philippino Giveaway meets resistance:
No Sharia State in Mindanao!
Female members of the Philippine’s largest Islamic rebel group Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) attend the central committee hearing inside the guerrilla base on the southern island of Mindanao in this picture taken March 11, 2008. A ceasefire between the MILF and the Philippine government has held for almost five years, but there are rumblings within MILF ranks that peace talks are not headed anywhere. Picture taken March 11.
Catholics protest against Manila’s Muslim deal
Â
MANILA, Aug 2 (Reuters) – Catholic officials from two cities in the southern Philippine island of Mindanao are calling for protests next week against a government deal that increases the size of an autonomous region for Muslims.Â
The agreement between Manila and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), which has taken more than 10 years to negotiate, gives more land to minority Muslims in the largely Catholic state and also gives them broader political and economic powers.Â
Â
“The government has allowed Mindanao to be dismembered from this country. We were never consulted and I would oppose that deal in Congress,” Climaco added.Â
More than 120,000 people have been killed, 2 million displaced and economic growth stunted across the whole of Mindanao, a region rich in nickel, gold and copper, due to 40 years of conflict between Muslims seeking some form of independence and the central government.Â
A copy of the deal, seen by Reuters, commits both parties to agree a formal peace deal by November 2009.Â
The proposed new Muslim state would receive 75 percent of all central government revenues from resources found in the ancestral area. It would also have broad political, economic and cultural powers but would not have control over defence, foreign and monetary policies.Â
This week, the Supreme Court asked government lawyers to respond to a petition by a governor and congresswoman from North Cotabato province asking that the signing be stopped.Â
But the court did not issue an order halting the signing in Kuala Lumpur on Aug. 5.Â
The mayors of Zamboanga and Iligan said on Saturday they would also ask the Supreme Court to block the signing.Â
“Let’s stop them from signing that agreement,” Celso Lobregat, mayor of Zamboanga City, told local radio on Saturday.Â
“Let us not look at ourselves alone, this is a fight for the whole of Mindanao and the country.”Â
Lobregat said many businesses had agreed to close on Monday to join the protest.Â
Lawrence Cruz, the mayor of Iligan in Lanao del Norte province, said he was organising similar protests.Â
In the mid-1990s, Catholic politicians from key cities in the south also held region-wide protests when Manila signed a peace deal with another rebel group in 1996 that created the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).Â
Based on the deal to be signed on Tuesday and brokered by Malaysia, Manila would hold a plebiscite in August 2009 to expand by 730 villages the existing ARMM and would set up a new form of government for Muslims after a final deal is reached. Carving Out a Sharia State in Mindanao
by Baron Bodissey
Â
The Islamist terrorists of Mindanao have been blowing things up, taking hostages, and killing people for decades in an effort to carve out an Islamic state in their part of the Philippines.
Their efforts are about to pay off. The government in Manila has caved in and is ready to grant them at least some of what they want. But non-Muslims in the area are not happy with the deal — they’re well aware of the fate that awaits infidels when the central government withdraws and leaves them to the tender mercies of Sharia.
According to today’s Gulf News (restrain yourselves from making jokes about the acronym):
Catholics plan protests against Manila’s deal with MILFÂ
Manila: Catholic officials from two cities in the southern Philippine island of Mindanao are calling for protests next week against a government deal that increases the size of an autonomous region for Muslims.
The agreement between Manila and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), which has taken more than 10 years to negotiate, gives more land to minority Muslims in the largely Catholic state and also gives them broader political and economic powers.
“This is treason,” Maria Isabel Climaco, a member of the lower house of Congress representing Zamboanga City, told reporters.
“The government has allowed Mindanao to be dismembered from this country. We were never consulted and I would oppose that deal in Congress,” Climaco added.
Once again, the mujahideen have been reinforced in their notion that murder, rape, and general barbarity offer handsome political payoffs:

More than 120,000 people have been killed, 2 million displaced and economic growth stunted across the whole of Mindanao, a region rich in nickel, gold and copper, due to 40 years of conflict between Muslims seeking some form of independence and the central government.
And this is obviously going to be a jizyah-based state:
The proposed new Muslim state would receive 75 per cent of all central government revenues from resources found in the ancestral area. It would also have broad political, economic and cultural powers but would not have control over defence, foreign and monetary policies.
So Manila gets to maintain the army, provide a lavish bureaucracy for the Foreign Ministry, and print lots of money that they will send to the new Islamic government in Moro.
And what do they get in return? If past experience is any indication, more bombs in downtown Manila and repeated demands for further concessions.
This week, the Supreme Court asked government lawyers to respond to a petition by a governor and congresswoman from North Cotabato province asking that the signing be stopped.
But the court did not issue an order halting the signing in Kuala Lumpur on August 5.
The mayors of Zamboanga and Iligan said on Saturday they would also ask the Supreme Court to block the signing.
“Let’s stop them from signing that agreement,” Celso Lobregat, mayor of Zamboanga City, told local radio on Saturday.
“Let us not look at ourselves alone, this is a fight for the whole of Mindanao and the country.”
Lobregat said many businesses had agreed to close on Monday to join the protest.Lawrence Cruz, the mayor of Iligan in Lanao del Norte province, said he was organising similar protests.
Where will the Catholic minority in Mindanao go when they become refugees? Presumably there are hundreds of thousands of them. Where will they end up, assuming that they manage to avoid the mass graves?
Australia? Canada? The United States?
Or will they become dhimmis in the newly-minted Sharia state of Mindanao?

Philippine Supreme Court blocks land giveaway to MILF
So the jihad will most likely continue. “Court blocks Philippine land deal,” from the BBC, August 4 (thanks to JW):
The Philippines’ Supreme Court has blocked the signing of a territorial deal between the government and Muslim separatists in the south of the nation. The two sides were due to formalise a deal on Tuesday widening an existing Muslim autonomous region.
But the court acted after Catholic lawmakers from the region said they had not been adequately consulted.
Rebels from the Moro Islamic Liberation Front have been fighting for self-rule in the southern Philippines for years.
The agreement was intended to kick-start peace talks aimed at ending nearly four decades of conflict….
“Do not build a Berlin Wall among the people in Mindanao,” Celso Lobregat, mayor of the mainly Catholic city of Zamboanga, told a 10,000-strong crowd.
The court has now temporarily suspended the deal and ordered the government to make its case at a hearing on 15 August….
Supporters, including President Gloria Arroyo, say it is badly needed to help end a war that has cost more than 100,000 lives and left the southern Philippines mired in poverty, says the BBC’s Michael Barker in Manila.
But critics say the agreement is tantamount to allowing the establishment of an independent state within the country, something that is outlawed by the constitution, our correspondent adds.
More than 10,000 armed Muslim separatist rebels from the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) gather in Camp Bushra in Butig town in the southern Philippine island of Mindanao on March 11, 2008. The meeting is the biggest show of strength since the MILF began talks with the Philippine government in 2003, raising doubts that a peace agreement can be completed this year. The MILF has been waging a separatist rebellion in Mindanao which has claimed 150,000 lives since 1978. Manila and the MILF signed a ceasefire in 2001 but peace talks have been at a bitter impasse over the past year on disagreement over territories the rebels claim as ancestral lands.

Wow, take a look at those coy, virginal looking little muslimettes. We don’t even have to wait for the jihadists they hide – THEY ARE THE JIHADISTS!
Good for the non-muslim for standing up for their country. And what we shall hear is that the muslims are the victims, and the Christians are the aggressors. geez, that junk gets real old. Oh, and I suppose the muslims will wail and whine while carrying their dead, especially their children, through the streets.
Gee, where have we seen and heard that before?!
All it takes is a few years of building up their numbers and the violence starts. And then… a few more years with more growth… and the outright battles start. And then the muslims will all cower and fear backlash and… well, we know the rounds don’t we?
Manila should take an iron fist to this bunch once and for all-Koranists have no business being in that country, much less having autonomy. If they must be allowed there then force them into dhimmitude-let’s see how they like it when the shoe’s on the other foot.
I think people should openly express support for the Phillipine courts who blocked this deal. Please note that it was not the government. There is every danger that the actions of the courts can be overturned through political and aid pressure exerted through that voice of Islam – the UN.
I just found this pretty awesome article, The Last Patriot, that sheds some light on the first encounters America had with Jihadis back in the late 1700s. Its a really interesting article worth checking out.
Living in the P.I. from 1972-1976. Things were already ugly for a long time in Mindanao.
A message for the USA, see what happens if you think it will go away.
I will not go away unless they are confronted the hard way. It is the only language they understand.
Eventualy it will become a global war against Islam.
THE AUTONOMY given to MNLF was enough and no more deals and BULLSHIT claims about ancestral shit domain!!!! the natives in Mindanao during pre-catholic era never submitted to ISLAM.
