Obama to “reboot” America’s image in the Islamic world
“I think we’ve got a unique opportunity to reboot America’s image around the world and also in the Muslim world in particular,” says Obama. He wants to “create a relationship of mutual respect and partnership in countries and with peoples of good will who want their citizens and ours to prosper together.”
Great. But here again he betrays the assumption that the friction between the West and the Islamic world was created by the West and can thus be healed by the West, and that he will find partners who are willing to treat infidels with respect not just in the short term.

Obama will expect something in return for his efforts. But I fear all he will get will be more Islamist bombs and bloodshed. It would be a noble gesture to do this but it will be like the priest waving a bible at the Martians in the HG Wells War of the Worlds.
This comes as a surprise? Every president in history has used his complete name during the swearing-in ceremony. “I, Barack Hussein Obama” – yikes…still sends a shudder up my spine.
