The militant atheists of the National Secular Society have launched a campaign against the spread of Sharia in Britain, entitled “One Law for All”. Good for them. Britons of all religious and ethnic backgrounds should fight against moves (supported by that nincompoop Rowan Williams) to establish a parallel Muslim legal jurisdiction in this country.

It’s courageous of the NSS, which represents diehard old Lefties, to pick a fight with “community leaders” who are attempting to force ordinary Muslims into an Islamic ghetto. The Guardian’s multicultural chatterers (such as the frightful Madeleine Bunting) will be outraged. (Not so frightful after all: M. Bunting is a shill who works for the Arab camp. As long as you keep that in mind you can remain unbothered by her drivel/ed)

“The Dutch government has taken notice of Mr Jami’s film, in which he expresses his personal opinions about Islam. Offending other people is not in keeping with these traditions. Conversely, free and unrestricted debate and respectful treatment do reflect these traditions. In this light, the government regrets the fact that Mr Jami’s film deeply offends the feelings of many Muslims.”

A dubious honor for the upcoming U.S. presidential Barack Obama in the Spanish province Catalonia. A statue of the elected president, while relieving himself with his pants down to the ankles, flies off the shelves.

The doll is a handmade ‘caganer’, which means ‘a reliever of ones obligation” so to speak, and finds its origin in a centuries-old Catalan Christmas tradition.

A seven-minute video titled “For Every Pharoah [sic] There Is a Musa,” uploaded to YouTube on December 7, 2008, shows two groups of protestors in Islamic garb – one in a park holding signs, and one marching, with police protection, on a residential city street. Both groups are led by speakers with megaphones; the one in the park focuses on Abu Hamza Al-Masri, the Egyptian-born former imam of London‘s FinsburyPark Mosque who is currently serving a prison sentence in London,  and the marchers focus on the oppression of Chinese Muslims.  The location in both cases appears to be London.

Attack north of Kirkuk occurred as Kurdish officials met with tribal leaders

The bomber detonated his explosives inside a popular restaurant killing at least 55 people and wounding 120 others,

BAGHDAD – A suicide bomber struck Thursday inside a popular restaurant in northern Iraq where Kurdish officials were meeting with Arab tribal leaders, killing at least 55 people and wounding about 120, police said.

Police Brig. Gen. Sarhad Qadir, who gave the casualty figures, said the blast occurred in the Abdullah Restaurant just north of the contested oil city of Kirkuk.

A Kurdish official said Arab tribal leaders were having lunch with members of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, the party of President Jalal Talabani.
