Stallings et al. (2009) reported that, in Tanzanian women, the risk of HIV among women who had undergone Female Circumcision was roughly half that of women who had not; the association remained significant after adjusting for region, household wealth, age, lifetime partners, and union status.

(JPost) Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday continued his verbal assault on Israel, according to Saudi paper Al Wattan, which quoted him as saying that that al Aksa Mosque, the Cave of the Patriarchs and Rachel’s Tomb “were not and never will be Jewish sites, but Islamic sites.”

Erdogan was referring to Israel’s recent inclusion of the Cave of the Patriarchs and Rachel’s Tomb on its national heritage list, but it was unclear why he mentioned the Aksa Mosque, since that site was not included.

After Erdogan’s continuous verbal attacks on US and Israel, Turkey is still being called America’s and Israel’s “traditional ally”.

The interviewer pretty much symbolizes the gross ignorance of the media in general concerning not only Islam, but of what their own Western culture and values represents. What a pleasure it was to see Diana take this young woman (professional?) by the hand and walk her through the most basic of talking points of why Islam, Islamization and what Europe is facing through mass immigration, is not such a good thing, and that there is no contradiction between believing in free speech, while trying to limit intolerant mobs of people from one’s own shores. Good job Diana, hopefully the lass will think on the things you mentioned. KGS

ELEMENTS of Islamic law – the sharia – should be legally recognised in Australia so that Muslims can live according their faith, a prominent Muslim leader says.

Addressing an open day at Lakemba Mosque on Saturday, the president of the Australian Islamic Mission, Zachariah Matthews, (a member of the Muslim Brotherhood) said parts of sharia could be recognised as a secondary legal system so that Muslims were not forced to act contrary to their beliefs. ”Sharia law could function as a parallel system in the same way that some traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander law was recognised in the Northern Territory,” Dr Matthews told the Herald after the session.

”I don’t think we are so unsophisticated that we cannot consider a multilayered legal system as long as it doesn’t conflict with the existing civil system.”

Radovan Karadzic defends 'holy war' against Islam

RADOVAN Karadzic showed yesterday that he will fight the charges of genocide he faces every step of the way, by insisting that the Bosnian Serbs fought a “just and holy” war to block the creation of an Islamic state.

In a belligerent opening statement, the former Bosnian Serb leader claimed that his forces had no choice but to fight the war of 1992-95 to “defend the greatness of a small nation” against a Muslim plot to revive the Ottoman Empire.

Dr Karadzic, 64, was frequently told to slow down so that interpreters could keep up with his four-hour, gabbled history of Bosnia and the conflict that claimed 100,000 lives. His trial, expected to run for three years, is the most important since that of Slobodan Milosevic, the former Serbian President, which ended without a verdict when he died in 2006.

“I stand here before you not to defend the mere mortal that I am but to defend the greatness of a small nation in Bosnia-Herzegovina, which for 500 years has had to suffer and has demonstrated a great deal of modesty and perseverence to survive in freedom,” Dr Karadzic said from the dock of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. “I will defend that nation of ours and their cause, which is just and holy, and in that way I will be able to defend myself too.”

What of the threat to “community harmony”? Islam should not be compared to other religions, like Christianity, Judaism or Buddhism, Wilders added. The highly controversial politician also said he wants to halt the immigration of Muslims, despite the fact he agrees that the majority of Muslims are peace-loving and law-abiding.
