Juan Williams was a guest on Good Morning America today. Williams talked about NPR firing him and attacking him. The leftiist commentator told the GMA hosts,

“Now, all of the sudden I’m a bigot? …This is one of the things in my life that is just so shocking. I grew up basically on the left, I grew up here in New York City. And I always thought the right wing were the ones that were inflexible, intolerant.”

Bill O’Reilly: “NPR Will Rue the Day… Congress Is Going to Defund NPR” (Video)

Bill O’Reilly and Juan Williams discussed his firing from NPR tonight on The Factor.
O’Reilly warned that:

“NPR has now devolved into a totalitarian outfit functioning as an arm of the far left. As a corporation, has a right to do what it wants, but it does not have a right to any of our tax dollars. NPR will rue the day.Congress is going to defund NPR. We are not letting it go.“

CONVICTED terrorism supporter David Hicks tried to hit guards and threw faeces at them in Guantanamo Bay, a retired US army general says.

Retired US Army Reserve major Montgomery Granger has launched a scathing attack on Hicks and publisher Random House over Hicks’ book Guantanamo: My Journey, which was released last Saturday.

Mr Granger, author of Saving Grace at Guantanamo Bay: A Memoir of a Citizen Warrior, said Hicks was infamous at Guantanamo for “threatening to kill an American” and that the content of his book was “lies”.

“David Hicks was there when I was there – he threatened and abused guards, and this is in my book,” he said. “He’s an al-Qaida-trained terrorist mercenary, and will try and pose himself as an innocent victim of circumstance. His book will be lies.”    (Andrew Bolt: The more believable Hicks)

So I was reading about Oskar Freysinger of the Swiss People’s Party and the curious difficulty he was having in getting a hotel in Brussels when I got the news about certain, ah, last-minute changes to the venue of my speech in London, Ontario on November 1st. As The London Free Press puts it, “Author Denied Hall Rental“:

Non-controversial reporter Kate Dubinski seems to have learned only one adjective at journalism school. Either that, or while I was sleeping some wag had my name legally changed to Controversial Author Mark Steyn. Whatever the reason, this is the way it is. All London taxpayers pay for the London Convention Centre, but the London Convention Centre apparently does not serve all London taxpayers. It won’t be too long now and, like Robin Hood and his Merrie Men, we’ll be having to hold our get-togethers in a clearing in the forest on the edge of town. Robert Spencer adds:

This is what they do to anti-jihadists: they compile a dossier of lies, distortions, half-truths and spurious refutations of their work, circulate it to overworked, careless, and ideologically compromised mainstream media reporters, and use it to pressure groups not to invite anti-jihadists to speak or refer to their work.

No Free Speech in the Land of the Free

The latest furor was kicked off last week when Fox News host Bill O’Reilly made an appearance on ABC’s “The View” and declared “Muslims killed us on 9/11.” That prompted co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar to walk off the stage.

Juan Williams fired for not pretending this jihad thing is a beat-up:    NPR fires Juan Williams, a Left-wing commentator an author of tomes on civil rights, for being, er, racist.

That was the incident O’Reilly and Williams were discussing Monday night when the latter said, “I get on a plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they’re identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried.” He also noted that it was not fair to cast all Muslims as extremists.  (More: Muslims fear analyst’s ouster will fan hostility)

It turns out that NPR fired Williams after CAIR sent out a national press release in which CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said this about Williams’ statements: “Such irresponsible and inflammatory comments would not be tolerated if they targeted any other racial, ethnic or religious minority, and they should not pass without action by NPR.”

And NPR hurried to appease this thuggish Hamas-linked group.

Juan Williams is an unlikely hero. A moonbat to boot, once in a blue moon he struck gold. With his statement that  he fears Muslims when flying,  he brought out every PC-moonbat in the land of free speech who can’t handle it. National Public Radio, financed by you, the taxpayer, fired him instantly. Here’s what he said:

“I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”

Should Soros-Backed NPR Lose Public Funding?

NPR’s firing of Juan Williams Wednesday has ignited a firestorm, leaving some politicians wondering whether the organization should lose its public funding, and many in the media questioning the real reason behind the news veteran’s axing.

George Soros has long claimed not to be a funder of the liberal media group Media Matters for America (MMFA). That will all change today when the billionaire philanthropist donates a reported $1 million to the organization, which will use the money to hold “Fox host Glenn Beck and others on the cable news channel accountable for their reporting,” the New York Times reports.
