Cardinal says Christian Europe is to blame for Islamisation

WTF did he wait until his retirement to tell the truth?

A leading Catholic cardinal has said Europeans only have themselves to blame for allowing Islam to “conquer” the continent.

By Simon Caldwell/Telegraph
Czech Cardinal Miloslav Vlk, the Archbishop of Prague, said Muslims were well placed to fill the spiritual void “created as Europeans systematically empty the Christian content of their lives”.

Czech Cardinal Miloslav Vlk, the Archbishop of Prague

“Europe will pay dear for having left its spiritual foundations and that this is the last period that will not continue for decades when it may still have a chance to do something about it,” he said.

“The Muslims definitely have many reasons to be heading here. They also have a religious one – to bring the spiritual values of faith in God to the pagan environment of Europe, to its atheistic style of life.

“Unless the Christians wake up, life may be Islamised and Christianity will not have the strength to imprint its character on the life of people, not to say society.”  The 77-year-old cardinal made his remarks in an interview to mark his retirement after spending 19 years as the leader of the Czech Church.

He said he did not blame Muslims for the crisis as Europeans had brought it upon themselves by exchanging their Christian culture for an aggressive secularism that embraced atheism.

“Europe has denied its Christian roots from which it has risen and which could give it the strength to fend off the danger that it will be conquered by Muslims, which is actually happening gradually,” he said.

“At the end of the Middle Ages and in the early modern age, Islam failed to conquer Europe with arms. The Christians beat them then.

“Today, when the fighting is done with spiritual weapons which Europe lacks while Muslims are perfectly armed, the fall of Europe is looming.”

He called on Christians to respond to the threat of Islamisation by living their own religious faith more observantly.

Last year Cardinal Jose Policarpo, the Patriarch of Lisbon, warned Catholic women against marrying Muslims.

Italian Cardinal Giacomo Biffi also urged the Italian government to give priority to Catholic migrants over Muslims in order to protect his country’s religious identity.

The Vatican has also opposed Turkey joining the European Union partly because the Muslim country does not share the continent’s Christian heritage.

S.O.S. Austria reports:

75 % of Czechs oppose any mosque building in their country. (According to a survey from December 2o10) for which they instantly got threats from the apparatchiks of the EU machinery: if they wouldn’t ignore the overwhelmingly opposed majority they would be penalized by being defunded.

  1. I agree that the West abandoning its Judeo/Christian underpinnings has left a void which has enabled Islam to fill.

Also that militant atheism, which despises the same Judeo/Christian values which gives all belief systems freedom of expression, is part of the problem.

What particularly annoys me about militant atheists is that they primarily target Jews and Christians, whilst giving Islam a free pass.

  2. cassandra,
Couldn’t agree more with your post. Whilst the rabid lefties and athiests howl down Jews and Christians they always seem to fall silent when Muslims play up.

Why is this? plainly because it’s more easier to hit a target that doesn’t bite back.

Your days are numbered (Athiests), you think you will survive the onslaught of the Musselmen, don’t bet on it, more than ever they will be barking for your blood because ‘you’ don’t believe in anything.

  3. As a committed Christian of 74I can remember the days just after WW2 when Christianity was still strong in this country and Islam had not yet begun to infiltrate Britain(not Great anymore)in large numbers.

However, when we started electing weak,wet,ultra-liberal politicians who thought that they were being kind-hearted and magnanimous and not just plain stupid and too bloody lazy and incompetent to carry out due diligence and their duty of care to establish exactly what this alien “religion” was all about the floodgates opened.
In some sort of unholy alliance the Anglican Church swallowed this guff with its usual lack of any semblance of being even interested in God(apart from Allah) and succeeding Archbishops of Canterbury, particularly the sharia approving Rowan Williams literally told their bishops to be kind to Islam and have close dialogue with it instead of witnessing to it. I can prove all this as very soon I will find a way to publish letters and emails fom various bishops I have attacked over Islam and many from politicians.
The very fact that two of our drippiest MPs,Kris Hopkins and Simon Hughes have been put in charge of a committee to examine Islamophobia in the UK whilst knowing diddly squat about Islam is just typical.
One day soon I predict that if the Islam Problem gets any worse as I am sure it will then something like the Crusades will be re-enacted and we might just get our country back again!

  4. Insufficient data yet, but the mass shooting in Arizona may have been by a right wing extremist. Muslims reading should shut their bloody mouths if this is true – most usually it is a muslim s___ bag who is responsible for mass murder.
Others – if you want to bring these left wing traitors down you DO IT THROUGH THE COURTS. Doing it through the courts is a more permanent solution – executions which are not sanctioned by the state give the bad guys what they want and shut their opponents down. Think before you act – do not act like a muslim!

  5. Isiah Reborn,
I will pass an email address to the Sheik and he will pass that top you. The address will be used to initiate discussion on ways to highlight the true nature of islam to the public.

  6. The cardinal is right on. And I have been saying for years, that while in europe the mosques are full, but the churches are empty…And to the few europeans that I have said that to, none of them started going to church. So, the cardinal is right. And maybe europe deserves whats coming to it… Canada too.

  7. Cassandra. That is because they are afraid of muslims. Its easy to pick on pacifistic Christians…

  8. Baha’i Universalistic Interfaith Dialogue and Progressive Religionists who believe Jesus was just a muslim profit are the source of the problem..

Abdul-Baha was Knighted by the British Crown in 1920, so the rot is very deep…

  9. In the 9th Century, several Mozarabic Christians living in Iberia noticed that their churches were becoming more empty, that Muslims surrounded them and oppressed them all the time.
    They rose up.
They were caught by Spain’s Moorish authorities and beheaded.
After this job was neatly done, the Mozarabic Christian authorities were forced to say that the Mozarabic martyrs were responsible for their own deaths– that the Muslim authorities that beheaded them were, in fact, INNOCENT.
Islam is a mockery of religion.
Allah is a mockery of God.
And Mohammed is a mockery of humanity and prophecy.
    The Mozarabic Martyrs were INNOCENT.
And Christians are not responsible for the crimes of Islam.
This individual is al-dhimmi! A traitor to the West.
    He should be defrocked immediately.

  10. Quote:
“Today, when the fighting is done with spiritual weapons which Europe lacks while Muslims are perfectly armed, the fall of Europe is looming.”
    end quote.

This man has not read St. John Damascene.
Nor has he read any of the excellent critiques of Islam that have been written in the last 20 years.
If he says we don’t have the “spiritual weapons” we need, he is badly deceived.
And if he keeps this attitude, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was one of the first to knuckle under and convert to Islam.

  11. It seems to me that all christian denominations need to address this problem and fight the spiritual fight, as this will bring more people back to the church as believers or supporters.

I would support them in every way possible.

    From a Jeudo/Christian

  12. I do not care for the wording after the end of one’s comment-Submit just reminds me of everything we object to.It seems to me that the powers that be in the UK have already submitted to Islam and that many years of Islamic infiltration into central and local government, the police force, the Army, our schools, our universities, the media, the clergy etc,etc have weakened the resolve of the authorities and even our next King-unless something happens to Charles,God forbid, will become Defender of ALL Faiths!!
However,if this site and others like it especially in the UK and the USA are true to the words of their contributors we will give the Islamists one hellof a time before we are done!!

  13. Lot’s of nit-picking here…the sad reality is that the cardinal has hit the nail on the head…here in the United States we’ve been over run by what I refer to as Chinos. …Christians in name only. By and large they are mostly ignorant about the faith, which gives them precious little from which to draw when they come under attack by the left. Fortunately, here in the states the church (Catholic) is waking up to this frightening state and running ads on prime time to lure the faithful, albeit fallen, back to the pews. Hope it works. A christian/Jewish population well educated in the faith is the best I can think of for the looming muslim tide.

  14. ’nuff already
I would only disagree with your admirable post in that I do not consider that after 1400+ years of Christianity in this country and our religion being faithfully taught in almost every school in the UK-UNTIL THE CURSE OF ISLAM took hold-that there are many “chinos” who are ignorant of Christianity. Instead they have been cowed by political correctness and most are afraid to witness ,to evangelise and to openly criticise Islam.

I firmly believe that as all non-Muslims, atheists, agnostics, the gay community, women particularly, have a common enemy in Islam a joint opposition to this false faith might be organised and be extremely powerful throughout Western Europe.

  15. The Earth Charter is the culmination of all the ideas that make up Global Governance…

The Earth Charter is the framework that all those Gaia worshipers are striving to implement…

The spiritual ideology behind the Earth Charter is Bahai…

“Unity is essential if diverse peoples are to work toward a common future. The Earth Charter might well identify those aspects of unity which are prerequisites for the achievement of sustainable development. In the Bahá’í view, “The well-being of mankind, its peace and security, are unattainable unless and until its unity is firmly established.””
Unity at all costs… Christians who believe Jesus is God are to be excluded because unity cannot be achieved without everyone accepting that Jesus was just a muslim profit…

  16. “The Earth Charter might well identify those aspects of unity which are prerequisites for the achievement of sustainable development.”

Prince Charles said that islam is the religion of environmentalists…

If anyone wants to tell me I’m wrong, please do… I would really like to know that I’m not correct…

    But I don’t think that’s going to happen…

Doesn’t it make anyone suspicious that Baha’i were intent on converting Christians in Europe and America instead of muslims in Persia right from the start?

The Baha’i have been active in Illinois for 100 years… Anyone else notice a Nexus of evil in and around the Chicago area?

  17. I have investigated Baha’i, INVENTED by a Persian and his son in the last half of the C19. A true religion cannot by its very nature be invented by a human being so one can much more easily lump together Islam, Bahaism and Zoroastrianism as philosophies and in the case of Islam a political, military, spiritual creed in one.

The only Bahais I have met seemed so incredibly confused by their own so-called religion -and its lack of success-that I cannot possibly see it as a force in this century or any other!!

  18. Maurice Strong is devout Baha’i.. he says so..

I know George Soros is a native Esperanto speaker…
Zamenhof and his wife Klara raised three children, a son, Adam, and two daughters, Sofia and Lidia. All three were murdered in the Holocaust.[8]

Lidia Zamenhof in particular took a keen interest in Esperanto, and as an adult became a teacher of the language, traveling through Europe and to America to teach classes in it. Through her friendship with Martha Root, Lidia accepted Bahá’u’lláh and became a member of the Bahá’í faith. As one of its social principles, the Bahá’í faith teaches that an auxiliary world language should be selected by the representatives of all the world’s nations.

How did George know about Christianity to pretend to be one?
Isn’t Baha’i all about studying other religions, particularly Christianity?
Doesn’t George, who has never revealed his faith specifically, seem vary antipathetic to Jews and Christians of the Holy Book that Baha’i believe are progressively superseded by muslims of the quran?

    Baha’i ARE the stealth Jihad…

Consideration of the Baha’i religion, its Tenets, the Character of its Followers, and the Possibility of its Spread, A

Even to the casual student of Islam it is obvious that Mohammedanism is in hopeless decay, more hopeless than was Catholicism before the Reformation. If it is to be saved at all, there must arise an oriental reformer who will denounce the Islamic `indulgences’ as did Luther the Papal ones.

The disinterest of Bahá’ís, though in origin a Moslem sect, in the reform of Allah’s faithful is a somewhat discouraging omen. Their striving for an all-expansive universality, though comprehensible, has so diluted their force in Persia as to diminish greatly their beneficent influence. One is constrained to remark that if they had concentrated less on Europe and America and more on morally bankrupt Persia their efforts would be more praiseworthy.

On the other hand, it must not be forgotten that Islam, a Semitic religion that has never been adapted to Aryan needs as has Judaism through the teachings of Christ, has always remained a misfit on this light-hearted, imaginative Aryan people, who, to escape the yoke of the Caliphate, created that absurd schism called Shiism.

Failing therefore the ideal remedy for Persia’s present religious decadence, namely a national renaissance of their great historic religion Zoroastrianism, Bahá’ísm, in which there are signs of a Protestant Reformation, and

    [page 15]

which after all is of purely Persian origin, may prove itself to be the best solution under the circumstances.

I have the honor to be, Sir, Your obedient servant,

Why did Baha’i rush to Europe and America? What is the result of recognizing a faith that carries with it the same “Jesus is a muslim prophet” cancer on our great societies…

The result is a culture that believes anything goes, including islam…

  20. Religion is a human concept. Other creatures may believe in a god, but we cannot know this at the present time. The sin of islam is to force their incomplete and inadequate knowledge of God – rather the concept of God – unto others under penalty of death. We were also guilty of this but we grew up – islam cannot grow, due to the nature of its construction, and therein lies the true threat of islam. By definition, taken from its current forms, islam cannot coexist with other faith based ideas in a rational and advanced society. Therefore an important question is … segregation or destruction? By definition the concept of God is an open question and probably the best that one can do is accept the right of others to be believe differently, since the concept is equally poorly understood by all involved in the argument.

  21. The Universe is a soccer ball God created. The big bang is God kicking the ball. The ball has curve from spin.Ball goes where it may.God starts again.

  22. “Religion is a human concept. ”

Faith is Spiritual… Religion is how communities culturalize… Faith in your Neighbors bears good fruit…

Heaven means to be one with God.

  23. All of your points are human concepts. One could write QED but I have no interest in a pointless pissing contest – your faith is your own and it is respected.

  24. kaw,

Being able to conceptualize that a whole universe is needed to produce humans that can think God out of existence only strengthens my belief that God can always try try again…

    Stay cool…

  25. I am cool about this – simply pointed out the obvious. Anyway, and again by definition, one either accepts that God is there or not – we are simply not capable of doing anything else. Thinking God out of existence is only possible if God doesn’t exist – who knows – it is a matter of faith. Like you I prefer to believe that God exists but there is always a question of duality in faith if one thinks about it carefully (I think). Glad you have something that works for you and make you stronger – am certainly cool with your point of view, have a great week!

  26. Another point of view. Two reasons why Moslems flock to mosques. They truly believe and faithfully worship Allah and Mohammed
they are terrified of the consequences if they do not attend regularly. They are ruled by fear.
Enthusiastic Islamic enforcers (thugs!) would threaten, beat, break limbs, throw acid at recalcitrant worshippers.
Not that I have any sympathy or fondness for Moslems. Quite the reverse. It would soothe my islamophobic nerves to hear that they had all been nuked off the planet!

  27. @ cassandra:
As a passionate atheist – that’s absolute rubbish, believe me – we atheists are definitely anti-islam.

Why are there less anti-islam comments than anti-christian comments? Because muslims like to blame the Jews and when they cannot do that, they blame the atheists.

Miloslav Vlk is of the opinion that secularism has allowed the islamisation of Europe. He is wrong (or perhaps just biased?), it is the over-reverence of religion that is the root of the trouble. If it were possible for a public figure to say that muslims MUST accept our rules – in school, at work, at home, – without being prosecuted for offending some poor sods ‘religious feelings’, I assure you – islamisation would not stand a chance.
Muslims come to this country and find that they are allowed to get away with things that others are not: The Graz yodeller – Susanne Winters, Eliz. S.-Wolff, etc.
The que4stion we must ask is not “why don’t atheists love us christians?” but “why won’t christians support a secular government?”

If it a theocracy you want – islam is one. If it religious equality you want – secularism is the only possibilty. But then, we atheists are also equal!

  28. “If it religious equality you want – secularism is the only possibilty.”

Or, the ‘ruling class’ can inject muslims to make Europe equally muslim eventually…

secularism only works with certain cultures… once you add evil to the mix, secularism is FAIL…
