Writing in today’s Telegraph, Allison Pearson seems to have started to understand the nature of the 7th century Islam that has taken hold in our towns and cities.
How did we end up with a school in the East Midlands where the door opens to release the children into the spring sunshine and out flaps a flock of crows? Young girls my daughter’s age clad from head to toe in inky black, a sight both alien and intimidating. “It’s their own choice,” runs the argument, so it must be tolerated by our liberal society. Exactly what choice does an 11-year-old girl have when her designated school uniform is a magician’s black cloth that conceals her from the world and never brings her back? Think of the paranoia that shroud breeds not just in the child who wears it but also in those who look upon her and turn away in dislike. At what point does tolerating the intolerant become intolerable?
How did we end up with this indeed. Fortunately for Allison, David Cameron has been busy answering her question. He’s wrong, of course, but then he hasn’t fully understood Islam yet.
David Cameron seems to be blaming the previous Labour government for allowing uncontrolled immigration and obviously there’s some truth in this. But Elvis Costello wrote “London is full of arabs” in his song in 1979. Obviously Elvis Costello was talking about rich petrodollar laden Arabs sloshing their enormous, unearned wealth around London in the late 70’s, drinking every club in London dry of fine scotch and providing gainful employment for literally thousands of whores and probably a fair few rent boys too. Far too many politicians of all colours have been bought with cushy non-exec directorships and fat retirement plans.
And while David Cameron is right to blame unchecked immigration and an open cheque book for new immigrants on Labour, the sell out to Islam had begun many years earlier. In fact we can go back a long way to the point where Neville Chamberlin declared in a cabinet meeting in April 1939:
*Prime Minister :“If we must offend one side let us offend the Jews rather than the Arabs.”
