Colorado student quits high school choir over Islamic hymn proclaiming “There is no truth except Allah”

A Colorado high school student quit the school choir after an Islamic song containing the lyric “there is no other truth except Allah” made it into the repertoire.

  1. The zikr (dhikr) reference to the lyrics is telling when considering

    this interesting commentary on the web about this story.
    وقال صلى الله عليه وسلم:

    [أمرت أن أقاتل الناس حتى يقولوا لا إله إلا الله]

    Muhammad said: “I have been ordered to fight mankind until they say there is no god but Allah.”

    wiki quote:

    “Essentially, the practice of dhikr [zikr] is a form of prayer in which the Muslim will express his or her remembrance of God either within or overtly; this may come in the form of recitation, lyrical chanting, or simply always remembering God in one’s heart.”

    Notice that wiki quote does not mention “song” or “singing” or even “music”. Islamic doctrine (as well as 1400 years of historic evidence) provides ample evidence for such an ommission.

    This misguided fool of a PC/MC saturated ‘teacher’ is far too lazy & ignorant to bother exploring WHY there is such an obvious dearth of music in Islam. Here is an Egyptian child explaining to this lazy “teacher” and any other ignorant fool who attempts to presumptively appease the politically correct bogey man in the future:

    In Islam, listening to music and singing is a sin and cause for the sickening and weakening of the heart. The majority of the scholars of the Salaf are unanimous that listening to music and singing and using musical instruments is Haram (prohibited).

    Allah said, what translated means, “And of mankind he who purchases idle talks to mislead (people) from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allah) by way of mockery, For such there will be a humiliating torment.” [31:6].”

    By the very nature of this song being presented in a classroom, during class time, as a group effort, implies it is an assignment, regardless of any caveat provided AFTER the controversy flaired, a controversy this ‘teacher’ clearly anticipated and for which she should suffer the consequences.
