Drone video shows massive refugee camp on Greece-Macedonia border

Turkey on Monday demanded an additional 3 billion euros from the European Union to help deal with the refugee crisis as EU leaders appealed to Ankara to take back thousands of migrants and prevent others from setting off for Europe.

Turkey — a temporary home to an estimated 2.75 million refugees, many from the conflict in Syria — is an indispensable EU partner in trying to dissuade people fleeing conflict or poverty from taking to makeshift boats and making the short but often-dangerous trip across the Aegean Sea.

“To avoid that refugees arrive in Greece we have to co-operate with Turkey,” French President Francois Hollande said as he arrived for the EU-Turkey summit in Brussels.

Other news:

But Turkish leaders upped the ante on Monday, demanding the additional funds by 2018, on top of 3 billion euros the EU had already pledged to help Syrian refugees in the country, European Parliament President Martin Schulz said. Turkey also made requests to ease visa rules by June instead of the end of the year.

Turkey also wants to be able to send Syrian refugees to the 28-nation EU as they take people back who have made the crossing into Greece. The EU is desperate to halt the flow of migrants crossing the Aegean Sea. NATO ships are also set to help patrol the sea between Greece and Turkey, easing the load on Turkey’s military-run coast guard.

Turnbull’s visit marks shift for Muslims under pressure
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s visit to Islamic centres in Victoria mark a shift in the relationship, Muslim groups say.

It all started with a letter.

After the terrorist attacks in Paris last November, Nail Aykan wrote to Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and thanked him on behalf of Muslim communities for his measured response.

“Thank you for your words of leadership. We welcome your fresh tone and positive narrative in regards the threats of terrorism,” Mr Aykan, the executive director of the Islamic Council of Victoria, wrote.

“The feedback we have from members of our community [says] it has been very reassuring and a much needed boost to confidence in our national leadership.”

Mr Turnbull was so moved by that letter, he says, that he read parts of it during his speech to world leaders at the G20 Summit, and promised to follow up with a visit.

And so on Tuesday, the Prime Minister walked through the doors of the modest 40-year-old headquarters of the Islamic Council of Victoria, in West Melbourne.

Thank you to Islamic community for the great contributions you’ve made to Australian society, Australia has a long and rich history welcoming Muslims from the early Indonesian Muslim traders that arrived before Captain Cook as early as the 1600’s, The Afghan Camel Drivers of the 1860’s, Albanian Muslims of the 1930’s, The Turks of the 60’s and The Lebanese in the 70’s…. The list goes on…

True courage and a wonderful victory against the Hizbutniks

Tim Blair

A wonderful victory for Australian freelance journalist Alison Bevege, who has single-handedly dragged our Hizbie friends into the mid-19th century:

Radical Islamic group Hizb ut-Tahrir will not be allowed to segregate women at its events after a NSW tribunal ruled in favour of a female journalist.

Former News Limited journalist Alison Bevege sued the group and five members for sexual discrimination after she was forced to sit in the women and children’s section at a public lecture she reported on in 2014.

The freelancer called her win “a victory for secular law over theocratic fascism.”

image
Alison Bevege took on the Hizbies and won. Observe and learn, cowardly leftwing feminists.

The NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal found Ms Bevege was treated unfavourably on the grounds of her sex in contravention of section 33 of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act …

The court ruled that group spokesman Ismail al-Wahwah was personally liable for the discrimination.

We now pause to consider the onomatopoeic implications of Mr Wahwah’s name, given that he’s just been thrashed by a girl.

It also ruled that for all future public events, Hizb ut-Tahrir must clearly state “at venues and … in all promotional materials” that segregated seating is not compulsory.

I’ll be buying a drink for Alison later this week to celebrate her legal triumph. She’s a freelancer, which from personal experience I know is not a massively profitable occupation. Pursuing a case for this long would have consumed a huge amount of time that Alison might otherwise have used to earn a living. If you would like to show your appreciation, please donate now and buy her a drink yourself.

She’s earned it.

UPDATE. Like Alison, this site’s readers stand for freedom:

EU to push Turkey to take back refugees on 'large-scale'

European Union’s 28 leaders are pinning much of their hopes for reducing the chaos on new commitments from Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu

World Bulletin / News Desk

European leaders will push Turkey at a summit on Monday to agree to “large-scale” deportations of economic refugees from Greece, as EU chief Donald Tusk says he sees the first hints of a resolution to the refugee crisis.

With a fresh surge expected in the warmer spring weather, the European Union’s 28 leaders are pinning much of their hopes for reducing the chaos on new commitments from Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.

The EU will also push Ankara to drastically reduce the huge flow of refugees into Europe, as Turkey is the launch pad for most of the more than one million refugees who have come to the continent since early 2015.

On Saturday, European Migration Commissioner Dimitris Avramapoulos said Greece — already struggling with a buildup of 30,000 refugees — was expected to receive “another 100,000” by the end of March.

But lingering tensions flared when Turkish police seized an opposition newspaper at the weekend and Brussels warned Ankara it had to respect media freedom in its decade-long bid for EU membership — also a topic in the refugee talks.

Tusk, the European Council president and summit host, said in his invitation letter that success depended largely on securing Turkey’s agreement at the summit for the “large-scale” readmission from Greece of economic migrants who do not qualify as refugees.

“It would effectively break the business model of the smugglers,” Tusk said when he also raised the idea on Thursday in Ankara with Davutoglu.

Brussels has meanwhile unveiled a plan for saving the passport-free Schengen zone, which has been jeopardised by several countries closing their borders to stop the huge influx of people from Syria and elsewhere.

Islamopuffery in the “Sydney Morning Herald”: Hijab Chic

clear

Of course, it’s not ‘hijab’. The latest fashionable euphemism for the Muslim female Gang Colours, Sharia Badge or, to be blunt, Slave Rag, is… “Modestwear.”  Which, of course, implies that any unislamic female dress is not Modest….which would imply that every single Infidel female, no matter how modestly (by our standards) she is dressed, is garbed in.. Slutware.  Nobody, in the rush to pander to the much-ballyhooed Muslim Market (which of course is supposed to be so much bigger and growing so much faster than any other ‘market sector’ on planet earth? – really? last I heard there were an awful lot of non-Muslim Chinese and Indians, or don’t their fashion tastes count?) seems to be thinking about that.  And what it implies about the Muslim worldview.

A piece of breathless Islamopuffery from Harriet Walker of Australia’s Sydney Morning Herald.  Or should I call it Hijabbery, which is what this sort of thing has been dubbed by one sardonic Australian observer of the push for Islamisation of absolutely everything and everywhere.

This is almost certainly a fantasy figure. Nearly 80% of Muslims live on a dollar a day. Just like the hilariously exaggerated figures that drive the halal racket, there is no multimillion dollar “Islamic fashion” market. Its BS.

Moscow:

A Muslim nanny has pleaded guilty to murder and arson, claiming she killed the girl in response to Russia’s strikes in Syria. Later it was revealed that she had been a mental hospital patient in her native country, Uzbekistan.

Russia’s LifeNews channel says it obtained a comment from the caricaturist behind the controversial image, who agreed his work was a “provocation.” The work provoked “hundreds” of angry letters with threats coming from Russia, the channel quoted the caricaturist as saying. People thought the work glorified the killer.

The caricaturist said the magazine is “very likely” to publish another cartoon depending on the public’s reaction.

“If they continue to ignore this event, we’ll do it again,” the caricaturist added.

Independent political analyst, Gearoid O’Colmain, told RT that this situation is quite an ugly reflection of what freedom of speech is like in the West.

“Freedom of speech, as it is interpreted in Europe, seems to me the freedom to insult victims of war and aggression. This is a very disgusting example of it. This is an absolute disgrace.”

How Europe’s most liberal nation gagged its own people on migration attacks: The Swedish conspiracy to hide the truth about the refugee influx
  • Stockholm train station is where a ‘group of neo-Nazis attacked refugees
  • Around the same time as woman, 22, was allegedly murdered by migrant
  • Despite reports no migrants have told police they were assaulted at station
  • If exaggerated, it could have made Swedes less ready to voice their worries

Stockholm railway station isn’t a nice place at nine on a winter evening. Smart young Swedes run to catch trains to the suburbs watched by groups of men in hoodies leaning against pillars in the shadows as they swap plastic bags of cannabis or heroin for wads of krona, the national currency.

Occasionally, police in twos and threes patrol through this scene of Nordic Noir as chimes ring from the nearby 16th century St Clare’s Lutheran church, with spires piercing the dark sky.

Yet the police rarely stop and no one takes much notice of them anyway. ‘I am here to buy cannabis with my friends,’ Mustapha Drummeh, a 31-year-old Ghanaian who came to Sweden seven years ago told me, as he hung around the station amid other African and Arab migrants.

Unsettling: Groups of men gather outside Stockholm’s railway station as commuters hurry past
Unsettling: Groups of men gather outside Stockholm’s railway station as commuters hurry past

Suddenly, his friend, a 43-year-old Eritrean called Mahoud, darts off to dance a circle round two Swedish women in their early twenties, walking briskly by us towards the trains.

The girls, who show no surprise, sidestep him neatly as he tries to pat their bottoms. ‘The Swedish women, they’re nice,’ says smiling Mahoud on his return, unabashed by the rebuff. ‘People here are kind to us, but it’s difficult without a job, nothing to do, and more migrants arriving all the time.’

Government Funded Imam – Europe’s Largest Mosque – Celebrating Religious Murder

British Ummah Channel Politics Editor – Government Funded Imam – Europe’s Largest Mosque – All Mourn ‘Apostate’ Killer Qadri’s Death

Celebrations of horrendous religious murder should have no place of any kind in Britain.

Yet they do in the Al Aqsa Mosque in Bolton, and it is far from alone.

One must presume that nothing will be done about this.

The Al Aqsa Mosque in Bolton: Celebrating Religious Murder

By Habibi/Harry’s Place

The-Al-Aqsa-Mosque-in-Bolton-salutes-murderer-Mumtaz-Qadri-286x300
The mosque links to the foul post of Bradford imam Muhammed Asim Hussain for Qadri the “ghazi” (hero). It is as brazen as it is sickening: A dark day in the history of Pakistan; the day Ghazi Mumtaz was wrongfully executed and martyred in the way of Allah, when he did what he did in honour of the Prophet. Allah raise the ranks of this true servant of Allah and lion of the Ahl ul-Sunnah wal Jama’at. Allah guide the leadership in our Muslim countries. Ameen.

by Amjad Khan

Mumtaz Qadri had been tried for the murder of Governor Salman Taseer, on the basis that the latter had violated the anti-blasphemy laws of Pakistan. Taseer had campaigned against the Islamic blasphemy laws that are used in Pakistan, arguing that they are used to deliberately oppress minorities “[of those tried under the law] How come over 50 per cent of them are Christians when they form less than 2 per cent of the country’s population. This points clearly to the fact that the law is misused to target minorities.”

Many in Pakistan had laid rose petals to commemorate the “martyrdom” of the murderer Qadri, celebrating his killing of Taseer – or “defending Pakistan’s Islam.” Muslim figureheads in Pakistan and in Western Europe should be polar opposites on this issue, as the latter has a respect for human rights and democracy, right?

Mohammed Shafiq, the politics editor of the Ummah Channel, had expressed his regret at Qadri’s death stating “Salam Mumtaz Qadri [in Arabic: May God have mercy on him].” Now this is very concerning. This is because Mohammed had made death threats to Maajid Nawaz for tweeting a bland cartoon of the Prophet Muhammed, however he later issued an apology….a year later.

Mohammed Shafiq, who has a TV channel that broadcasts 6 hours a day, has expressed public regret and wish for wellbeing to Qadri in the afterlife – does this mean he has swept away the murder Qadri was responsible for? Does Shafiq see the legitimacy in killing apostates the same way Qadri had? As one Facebook user asked:

However this isn’t the first time Mohammed Shafiq has defended violent preachers, which includes defending Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who called to action the destruction of world Jewry.

British advocacy group cites “arrogant, unapologetic bigotry and hate speech”

This is one win Donald Trump may not be crowing about.

A Muslim group in the U.K. named the Republican frontrunner the world’s worst Islamophobe on Saturday for his call to ban Muslims from entering the U.S.

His victory was announced during the ‘Islamophobia Awards’ in London, a satirical event held by the advocacy group Islamic Human Rights Organization (IHRC).

“It is bad enough that anyone can come out with such arrogant, unapologetic bigotry and hate speech but I think what is really frightening is that Donald Trump is supported by such a large number of voters in what is the most powerful nation in the world” IHRC’s Chairman Massoud Shadjareh said in an e-mail.

Trump’s rivals in the 2016 ‘International’ category included far-right Dutch politician Geert Wilders and the country of Tajikistan, which has instilled a campaign to eradicate conservative Islam. British Prime Minister David Cameron won in the U.K. category for his “comments about Muslim women needing to learn English and being ‘traditionally submissive’” the organisers wrote.

In a statement, the group said that the awards aim “to subvert Islamophobia through comedy and revue while simultaneously addressing a serious and significant issue in a creative manner.”

The IHRC was criticized for insensitivity in 2015 for giving French magazine Charlie Hebdo the international Islamophobe award in 2015, months after 12 members of the magazine’s staff were killed in a terrorist attack.

“I think people misunderstood the award that was given to Charlie Hebdo, it wasn’t anything to do with the act of terrorism in Paris” says Shadjareh. “The point is this: if Charlie Hebdo says they have the right with satire to make fun of anyone, then why can’t we have the same right?”

It had everything to do with the mass-murder in Paris.  It was rubbing salt in the wounds and celebrating their victory over the slaughtered infidels.

Reports in Britain’s conservative media have also said the group supports Hezbollah, a Lebanese militia classified by the U.S. as a terrorist organisation, a claim Shadjareh says is “outrageous.”
