MENAFN – Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, April 2 (KUNA) — UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stressed on Tuesday that Islam is a religion of love, compassion, tolerance and charity.

This came during a meeting between Al-Azhar Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmad Al-Tayeb with top UN official in Cairo, Al-Azhar said in a statement.

Guterres expressed his sincere condolences to the Muslim world on the victims of the tragic terrorist attack that targeted Muslims in New Zealand.

“Islam is under a vicious attack aimed at accusing it of terrorism, while most victims are Arabs and Muslims,” said Guterres.
