Translation: “tougher action on climate change” means ‘we want all your money to stuff black holes in the universe, to prop up failed regimes in shithole countries & to turn the UN into a dictatorial world government that answers to no one.

Britain faces both a moral responsibility and an economic necessity to tackle climate change, Rishi Sunak said in his first speech on the international stage at the Cop27 climate conference in Egypt.
The prime minister told other world leaders that despite a deteriorating global economy, countries such as Britain had to fulfil their financial commitments to help developing nations decarbonise. He added that since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, “climate security” went “hand in hand with energy security”, with an ever greater need to invest in renewable sources.
