Aussie supermarket imposes egg purchase limits amid avian flu outbreak

The outbreak has impacted farms in south-east Australia, with customers limited to two cartons per person as more than a million birds are culled.

Australia’s bird flu outbreak has spread to an eighth commercial egg farm, with the highly contagious disease detected in the Meredith area. The state has been grappling to control the spread of the virus since May 22, when the first case of avian influenza was confirmed on a farm in the state’s west. #9News
