𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐎𝐒 𝐄𝐌𝐏𝐈𝐑𝐄: 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐄𝐈𝐏𝐓𝐒
For most people, George Soros is a name whispered in political conversations but never fully understood. He’s the boogeyman of the left’s donor class — invoked constantly, rarely examined in full. So I did the research. Here’s who he is, what he’s done, and why his son might be worse.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧: 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
Born 𝐆𝐲ö𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐳 on August 12, 1930, in Budapest, Hungary. His Jewish family changed their surname to Soros to conceal their identity during the rise of antisemitism in Europe. When the Nazis occupied Hungary in 1944 — a campaign that resulted in the m∗rder of over 𝟓𝟎𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐞𝐰𝐬 — his father Tivadar secured forged identity papers for the family and helped many other Jews escape. The 14-year-old George was placed with a Hungarian government official who was inventorying confiscated Jewish estates. George was present during these inventories.
In a now-infamous 𝟏𝟗𝟗𝟖 60 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘴 interview with Steve Kroft, Soros was asked whether he felt any guilt about being present during the confiscation of Jewish property. His answer: if he wasn’t there, somebody else would have been taking it. He said he felt 𝐧𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭. That interview is on tape. You can watch it.
After the war, he left Hungary in 1947 for London, where he studied at the London School of Economics under philosopher Karl Popper — whose concept of the “open society” would later become the namesake of Soros’s global foundation. He moved to the United States in 1956 and built his fortune through the Quantum Fund, one of the most successful hedge funds in history. His net worth peaked above $𝟐𝟓 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧. He has since given away $𝟑𝟐 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 to the Open Society Foundations (OSF). He is now 95 years old.
𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐇𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐞
On September 16, 1992 — a day known as 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲 — Soros short-sold more than $𝟏𝟎 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 in British pounds, betting against the Bank of England’s ability to maintain its currency peg. He was right. The pound collapsed, falling 𝟏𝟓% against the German mark and 𝟐𝟓% against the dollar. Soros made over £𝟏 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐭 in a single day. The British Treasury lost £𝟑.𝟑 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 of taxpayer money (UK Treasury). He became known as “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘯 𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘉𝘳𝘰𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘬 𝘰𝘧 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥”.
Five years later, he did it again. In 1997, Soros’s fund bet heavily against the Thai baht, contributing to the 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐬 that devastated Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. The Thai baht lost more than 𝟓𝟎% of its value within months. Millions of people across Southeast Asia were thrown into poverty. Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad publicly accused Soros of “𝘳𝘶𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘢’𝘴 𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘺” through currency speculation. Soros’s response was to claim he was actually 𝘣𝘶𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 the currencies as they fell — after he’d already triggered the collapse.
This is a man who built his fortune by destroying other countries’ currencies and profiting from the wreckage.
$𝟑𝟐 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠
The Open Society Foundations have spent over $𝟐𝟒.𝟐 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 since 1993 across 𝟏𝟐𝟎+ 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 (OSF). In 2017, Soros transferred $𝟏𝟖 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 to OSF in a single move — one of the largest transfers to a private foundation in history. Biden awarded him the 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦 in January 2025.
Domestically, OSF has funded Media Matters, the National Immigration Law Center ($𝟑.𝟒 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧), the Immigrant Legal Resource Center ($𝟐.𝟑 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧), United We Dream ($𝟕𝟎𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎+), and seven of eight groups that pressured the 2019 Democratic presidential field into pledging to decriminalize border crossings (NLPC). This isn’t philanthropy. It’s political infrastructure built with a checkbook.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐀 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭: 𝐁𝐮𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞
This is where it gets personal for every American. Over the past decade, Soros spent more than $𝟒𝟎 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 to elect 𝟕𝟓 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 across 30 states (𝘞𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘰𝘯 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴). These district attorneys represent over 𝟕𝟐 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐬 — more than 1 in 5 — and their jurisdictions account for approximately 𝟒𝟎% of the nation’s m∗rders (LELDF).
The results were catastrophic.
𝐋𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐊𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐫, Philadelphia: received $𝟏.𝟕 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 from Soros-backed PACs — 𝟗𝟎% of his total campaign funding. Since taking office in 2018, Philadelphia saw 𝟐,𝟔𝟗𝟔 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬 over five years, compared to 1,356 in the five years before him — an extra 𝟐𝟑𝟑 𝐦∗𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫. Shootings up 78%. Retail theft up 1,672 per year. Auto theft up 2,974 per year (Senate Republican Leader).
𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐧, Los Angeles: homicides rose from an average of 637 per year to 𝟕𝟔𝟖 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫. Shootings up 𝟔𝟗% since 2020. Car thefts up 40%.
𝐊𝐢𝐦 𝐅𝐨𝐱𝐱, Chicago: homicides increased 𝟔𝟒%. Auto thefts more than doubled — from 5,688 in 2017 to 𝟏𝟒,𝟓𝟑𝟑 in 2022.
𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐚 𝐁𝐨𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐧, San Francisco: 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 by 60% of voters.
𝐊𝐢𝐦 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐫, St. Louis: forced to 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 amid removal proceedings filed by the Missouri Attorney General.
𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐛𝐲, Baltimore: 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐣𝐮𝐫𝐲 in federal court.
𝐀𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐠, Manhattan: the DA who prosecuted Donald Trump.
Since 2022, 𝟐𝟏 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐬-𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐃𝐀𝐬 have been replaced by tough-on-crime prosecutors (LELDF). The voters spoke. They recalled them, voted them out, or watched them resign in disgrace. But the damage was already done — thousands of additional m∗rders, hundreds of thousands of additional crimes, entire cities hollowed out by prosecutors who refused to prosecute.
In June 2023, George Soros handed control of the empire to his younger son, 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐬, then 37 — passing over his elder son Jonathan, who had been the expected successor. Alex told the 𝘞𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭: “𝘐’𝘮 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭” than his father. That’s not a reassuring statement from the man now sitting on top of a $𝟐𝟓 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 endowment.
Alex Soros is engaged to 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚 𝐀𝐛𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐧 — Hillary Clinton’s top aide and the ex-wife of disgraced former congressman Anthony Weiner. Their engagement party was held at 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫’𝐬 home, attended by Bill and Hillary Clinton, and MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski (𝘍𝘰𝘹 𝘕𝘦𝘸𝘴). The Soros-Clinton axis is no longer metaphorical — it’s literally a family.
Under Biden, Alex Soros logged 𝟐𝟓+ 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐬 between 2021 and 2024 (𝘞𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘰𝘯 𝘌𝘹𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘳). He was photographed with Schumer, Pelosi, and Kamala Harris. His Democracy PAC spent $𝟔𝟕.𝟓 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 during the 2024 cycle, directing $𝟐𝟒.𝟓 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 to Senate Majority PAC, Future Forward PAC, and House Majority PAC. He’s less focused on DA races than his father — he’s building something deeper: direct integration into the Democratic Party’s power structure at every level.
A man born in Budapest who made his first billion destroying Britain’s currency. Who profited from the collapse of Southeast Asian economies while millions lost everything. Who poured $𝟑𝟐 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 into a foundation that operates in 120 countries and has reshaped immigration policy, media, and criminal justice across the Western world. Who spent $40 million buying prosecutors in 30 states — prosecutors who oversaw 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐦∗𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 and millions of additional crimes before voters started throwing them out. And when the backlash came, he handed the keys to his 37-year-old son — who is engaged to a Clinton operative, has had 25 meetings at the White House, and says he’s “𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭” than the man who broke the Bank of England.
This is not a conspiracy theory. Every number in this post is sourced. Every dollar is on the record. Every DA is named. Every recall, every conviction, every resignation — public record.
The Soros machine didn’t stop when the voters pushed back. It just changed hands.
