COPENHAGEN – Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen rejected praise from controversial Dutch politician Geert Wilders and condemned Wilders’ “sickening” and “coarse” remarks about Muslims.
In an interview published Wednesday in the Danish daily Jyllands Posten, Rasmussen was responding to remarks by Wilders during a visit to Copenhagen earlier in the week praising the Danish leader for his “courageous defence” of freedom of expression.
Rasmussen said he strongly distanced himself “from Wilders’ debasing remarks about Muslims,” and called Wilders’ views “incredibly sickening.”
Wilders, the Dutch politician controversial for his anti-Islam views and plans to release a film about the Koran, had called Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende a “coward” for his critical stance against the film project. Wilders wants to ban the Koran, comparing it with Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler’s “Mein Kampf.”
“Wilders’ comments about Muslims are so coarse, that I would not want to see any group in Danish society attacked in such a way,” the Copenhagen leader told Jyllands Posten.

To Fitna or not to Fitna?Â
 No movie after all?
By now the idea is spreading all over the place that there is no movie Fitna, and never will be — that Geert Wilders simply announced that there would be to expose Islamic intolerance.
I have no direct knowledge either way, but I’m inclined to credit this idea at this point, since the film has not appeared now on several dates on which it had been announced to appear. Maybe it will finally burst upon the world, but I won’t be surprised if it never does.
And look what we have seen: for the mere announcement that he was making a film quoting the Qur’an and showing Muslims acting violently in accord with its words, we have seen threats from several Muslim countries, threats from Al-Qaeda, demonstrations in the Netherlands and around the world, and quailing dhimmitude from the august leaders of Europe, as they cringed before the anticipated Islamic wrath, and from Network Solutions, as they pulled Wilders’s site while it was almost entirely devoid of content.
Note, meanwhile, that hardly a day goes by on which some Muslims somewhere do not commit an act of violence that they deem to be justified by the words of the Qur’an. Jihadist leaders routinely invoke Qur’anic passages to explain their actions and make recruits among peaceful Muslims. In other words, we see the announced theme of Wilders’s Fitna played out every day, not by non-Muslims but by Muslims — and there is nary a peep of protest from anyone. Muslims in the West issue vague denunciations of “terrorism,” but never specifically explain whom they actually believe to be a terrorist, and there are no protests, no threats, no nothing against those who have supposedly “hijacked” their religion.
Maybe that was Wilders’s point all along, and it is a point well made, made again and again and again.

Barnabas Fund has received credible reports that the Al-Qaeda linked terrorist organisation Jemaah Islamiyah has threatened to target Christians in Indonesia this Easter. Jemaah Islamiyah has been responsible for many attacks in the past – it is believed to have organised the Bali bombings in 2002 and 2005, and bomb attacks at churches on Christmas Eve in 2000.
Jemaah Islamiyah is dedicated to creating a single Islamic state throughout South-East Asia under shari`a law. It considers non-Muslims as legitimate targets and is active throughout the region. The organisation is closely linked to Al-Qaeda, and has shown that is it able to carry out devastating attacks, such as the Bali bombings in 2002 which killed 202 people. On Christmas Eve, 2000, Jemaah Islamiyah bombed several churches in Jakarta, Bandung and Riau, killing 18 people and injuring more than a hundred.
Threats to Christians on major celebrations such as Easter and Christmas are frequent in Indonesia, and security guards are often posted outside churches at this time. Some churches in Jakarta keep metal detectors near their entrances to try to thwart bomb attacks. This Easter will therefore be a time of great anxiety for Indonesia`s Christians.

A Dutch activist group has called for a mass online apology campaign to “smother out” the soon-to-be-released anti-Islamic movie by a right wing politician.
Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders says he plans to broadcast his film “Fitna” — Challenge in Arabic – on the web sometime in the next two weeks. The 15-minute movie denounces the Quran as a “fascist” book.
On Monday, Amsterdam-based cultural organization Mediamatic called on Dutch citizens “to make their own version of Fitna in which they apologize for Wilders’ embarrassing behavior”.
“If everybody joins in it will be hard to find the video by Wilders without finding lots of movies apologizing for it,” said a statement released by the organization.
“Just to let the world (and ourselves) know that allowing opportunists to speak does not mean that we agree with what they say,” the statement added.
Willem Velthoven of Mediamatic urges people to “act as a look-a-like of the politician” by putting on a blonde wig, and then film themselves apologizing using a mobile phone or video camera.
He urged people to publish their apologies as many times as possible on sites such as Youtube, Hyves, Facebook and Myspace, calling it “Fitna by Geert Wilders”.
“Because of the freedom of speech, Mediamatic doesn’t want to stop the Fitna video,” the statement said. “What Mediamatic can do is to stimulate disinformation…[in] hopes that Wilders will be smothered in apologies”.

If it really happened there would be riots all over England now, but as it is they don’t even remember the date correctly. Bradford madrassa atacked
On Thursday 13th of March between 5pm and 8 pm in Dudley Hill in Bradford, West Yorkshire, a Madrassah was attacked.
20 white youths wearing hoodies rushed the madrassah armed with hammers, axes and baseball bats. They attacked everyone in the madrassah. There were young kids in there aged between 9 and 19 who were also attacked and beaten by these thugs. And the teachers were also given a kicking. Most of the students from the madrassah have been hospitalised. It was just sheer luck that no one was killed.

Bashir Spews More Bile & Poison Than Ever, Incites Indonesian Youth to 'Martyrdom Death'

ISLAMIC cleric Abu Bakar Bashir has returned to his hardline rhetoric with a call for followers to “beat up” Western tourists and for young Muslims to die as martyrs.

In the sermon, organised by an Islamic youth organisation and delivered a few kilometres from the home village of convicted Bali bombers Amrozi and Mukhlas, Bashir likened tourists in Bali to “worms, snakes, maggots”, and specifically referred to the immorality of Australian infidels.
The address was caught on video by an Australian university student.
“The youth movement here must aspire to a martyrdom death,” said the cleric, who was convicted of conspiracy over the 2002 Bali bombings that killed 202 people, including 88 Australians, but was later cleared and released from prison.
“The young must be first at the front line – don’t hide at the back. You must be at the front, die as martyrs and all your sins will be forgiven. This is how to achieve forgiveness.”
Observers said the sermon’s content was a clear indication of what many terrorism academics have noted – that the accused spiritual head of Jemaah Islamiah has been emboldened by his release from prison last year after serving 26 months for conspiracy in relation to the Bali blasts.
“Immediately after Abu Bakar Bashir was released from incarceration he was very cautious in spreading hatred,” said Rohan Gunaratna, head of the International Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research at Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University. “The remarks show that Abu Bakar Bashir has gone back to the pre-incarceration period where he was in a very similar way urging JI members, encouraging JI members to move in the direction of violence, especially violence including terrorism.”
The sermon was organised by the youth group Persatuan Pemuda Islam Pantura (Java North Coast Islamic Youth Group) and delivered on October 22 last year.
It was captured on videotape by Darwin-based political science PhD student Nathan Franklin, who was conducting research at Islamic boarding schools in east Java.
Bashir’s address was observed by the village’s police chief and a horde of plain-clothes Indonesian police officers. It was also attended by relatives of Amrozi, who travelled to the sermon from the Bali bomber’s former Islamic boarding school on the village’s outskirts.
The cleric has warned of retribution should the Bali bombers be executed by firing squad.
During the sermon, Bashir talked of a previous visit to Australia, claiming that he had wanted to see the “beauty of the ocean” but was told by a friend there was “one condition” of a visit to the beach.
“He said if you enter that area you must be completely naked,” Bashir told the crowd of about 300 hearing his sermon.
Bashir likened non-Muslims to crawling animals. “Worms, snakes, maggots – those are animals that crawl.
Take a look at Bali … those infidel tourists. They are naked.”
He called for signs to be erected across Indonesia warning tourists they were entering a Muslim area, and directing they cover up appropriately. But in east Java, he urged the Islamist youth to “beat up” foreigners.
“God willing, there are none here,” Bashir said. “If there were infidels here, just beat them up. Do not tolerate them.”
Bashir has never sought to hide his support for the Mujahideen, or holy warriors, who seek to wage jihad and die as martyrs in defence of Islam. However, he has in the past been careful to distance himself from the Bali bombings, praising the bombers’ intention but not their method.

Mr Franklin, who is completing a doctorate in political science specialising in Indonesian politics, agreed that Bashir’s radical address proved the cleric had been emboldened by his early release from prison and was seemingly intent on attracting greater publicity for his cause. “Going to jail, serving a very light sentence, and becoming a media icon – it’s the best thing that’s happened to him,” Mr Franklin said.
He said Bashir sensed his opportunity for greater power and influence as Indonesia increasingly moved away from secularism towards Islamic law.
The PhD student will screen extracts of the Bashir video, which has been sub-titled, at Charles Darwin University in Darwin on Friday as part of an academic talk on how the sermons give inspiration to the radical Islamist cause to create a Caliphate, or greater Islamic state.

Dr Gunaratna said the radical nature of Bashir’s current sermons showed that Indonesia’s legal system was still not equipped to police terrorism.
“The very fact that Abu Bakar Bashir is spreading hatred and ideological extremism is testimony to the fact that Australia has failed in engagement with Indonesia to build a robust Indonesian counter-terrorism legislation,” Dr Gunaratna said.

Bashir’s address contained many direct challenges to Indonesian secularism. The cleric urged his supporters to reject the laws of the nation’s parliament and said following state laws that contradicted Islamic Shariah law was an act of “blasphemy”.
“Don’t be scared if you are called a hardliner Muslim,” Bashir said. “It must be like that. We can’t follow human law that is in conflict with Allah’s law.”

AMSTERDAM, March 23 (Reuters) – A U.S.-based web service, which Islam critic and Dutch right-wing lawmaker Geert Wilders planned to use to show his film critical of the Koran, said on Saturday that it had inactivated the site due to complaints.

“This site has been suspended while Network Solutions is investigating whether the site’s content is in violation of the Network Solutions Acceptable Use Policy,” the company said on the site www.fitnathemovie.com.

Wilders, who has given few details about his 15-minute film, has said he plans to release ‘Fitna’ on the Internet before the end of the month after Dutch broadcasters declined to show it. Fitna is a Koranic term sometimes translated as “strife”.
Wilders still plans to show his film despite the setback, Dutch agency ANP reported.
“If need be, I will personally distribute DVDs in the Dam,” ANP quoted him as saying. The Dam is the central square in Amsterdam, popular with both the Dutch and tourists.
Wilders’ film has triggered fury in the Muslim world. The Dutch government has distanced itself from Wilders’ views, fearing a backlash against the country in the Muslim world, similar to that against Denmark in 2006 after newspapers there published cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad.

On Saturday, about a thousand Dutch gathered in the Dam to protest against Wilders and his film.
The film is not so much about Muslims as about the Koran, Wilders wrote in a commentary in Dutch daily De Volkskrant on Saturday. He said Fitna was a last warning for the West.
Wilders had previously warned of a “tsunami of Islamisation” in a country home to almost one million Muslims.
He has been under heavy guard due to Islamic death threats since the 2004 murder of Dutch director Theo van Gogh, who made a film critical of Islam’s treatment of women.

Jihad

The Arabic word jihad means “struggle” or “exertion” and is found 28 times in the Kor’an, the sacred text of Muslims. In Islamic teaching, there are five forms of this “holy struggle”– jihad of the heart, mouth, pen, hand, and sword.
Jihad of the heart refers to an individual’s struggle to keep the precepts of Islam and overcome evil tendencies. This is through one’s own efforts or the enforcement of others. In Muslim tradition, this is referred to as the greater jihad.
Jihad of the mouth involves the verbal undermining of opposition to Islam through argumentation, threats, and curses. When Saddam Hussein declared before the first Gulf War that coalition forces would face the “mother of all battles” and experience crushing defeat, he was practicing this form of jihad. Defiant Muslim leaders in Afghanistan and Iraq are doing so today by inciting violence and pronouncing curses on foreign forces in their countries.
Jihad of the pen makes use of the written word to advance Islam and undermine its opponents. Many Muslim scholars, though often sadly ignorant of Biblical doctrines, have made Judaism and Christianity the special target of their apologetic works. Although Mohammed described himself as a sinner, great effort is made to present him as the perfect man and highest prophet of God, and his precepts as binding on all mankind.
Jihad of the hand refers to good works and praiseworthy deeds that promote the cause of Islam. Muslims typically believe that if a person’s good deeds outweigh his bad deeds he’ll have a good chance of entering Paradise on the Day of Judgment, provided he’s a follower of Islam. Deeds that promote Mohammed and his message are deemed to have the greatest weight.
Jihad of the sword is the last and most troubling. Although referred to as the lesser jihad, it has always been foremost in Muslim history, law, and tradition. In the Kor’an, the oft repeated words “jihad in the cause of Allah” refer without exception to armed combat for the protection or advance of Islam. Mohammed regularly engaged in this form of jihad and commanded his followers to engage in it as well. He is described by early Muslim biographers as an active participant in at least seventy battles and military attacks.
Since the time of its founding by Mohammed, the ultimate goal of Islam has been world conquest. The Kor’an and Muslim jurisprudence call for jihad of the sword against any land not yet surrendered to the armies of Islam. Militant Muslims advocate a return to the ways of Mohammed, with all of the terror and bloodshed that entails. This form of jihad poses one of the greatest threats to Western civilization today.

Muslims often complain of the “misconceptions” about their religion in the West, yet very few seem to know all that much about the true history of Islam and its founder, Muhammad. In light of Magdi Allam’s high profile, public conversion by Pope Benedict, it is worth remembering that Sicily experienced full-fledged, jihad-imposed dhimmitude for both its Christian and Jewish inhabitants, particularly during the 9th century.

At any rate, here is an extract from Michele Amari, the great Italian scholar of Islam, extracted from his seminal, Storia dei Musulmani di Sicilia. [“History of the Muslims in Sicily”] published in multiple volumes from 1933-1939.
Injurious and troublesome were the statutes of the civil regulations. The dhimmi were forbidden to carry arms, to ride horseback, or to put saddles on their donkeys and mules; to build their homes taller than or even as tall as those of the Muslims; to use Islamic first names and even to use seals with Arabic lettering. Furthermore they were forbidden to drink wine in public, to accompany their dead to the cemetery with funeral pomp and lamentation; the women were forbidden to enter a public bath when Muslim women might be there, or to remain there if Muslim women arrived. And just so that they wouldn’t forget their inferior status for a moment, the dhimmi were enjoined to keep a sign on the doors of their homes, one on their outer garments, to use turbans of a different style and color, and above all to wear a belt made of leather or wool. Along the streets they were forced to yield the right of way to the Muslims or, if they were seated in a group, to stand up at the arrival or departure of a man of the victorious race… …it was forbidden to display crosses in public, to read the gospel so loud that the Muslims could hear it, to speak with them about the Messiah; or vigorously to ring bells or to sound clappers [wooden noisemakers used exclusively in Holy Week ceremonies
The Jews, as every one knows (and there were quite a few living in Sicily then), were subject to the same laws. It is worth noting that everything that I wrote about the dhimmi, and what I will say about the slaves, was drawn from the examples of other countries, but it should be considered as prescribed in Sicily as well, due to the similarity of the circumstances and the uniformity of Muslim customs.Â
