I’m sure Queensland Liberal MP Steve Ciobo has his heart in the right place and the majority of Australians back his call. But it is a bit naive for him to call on “moderate Muslim supporters who recognise there is no place in Australia for these kinds of attitudes”. His appeal will fall on deaf ears.

“Moderate Muslims”, like unicorns and the tooth fairy, are elusive creatures. Moreover, they are irrrelevant.

Sheik Ismail Al-Wahwah, the Australian head of extremist Islamic group Hizb ut-Tahrir, suggested during a Christmas Eve sermon that jihad should be used to implement hardline teachings.

Queensland Liberal MP Steve Ciobo said the sheik should adopt Australia’s values of tolerance and a fair go for all or “pack up and ship off”.

“Frankly, we have had a gutful of people who deliberately incite hatred and people who want to overturn the foundation principles of this country,” he said. “This Sheik Al-Wahwah needs to be slapped down from moderate Muslim supporters who recognise there is no place in Australia for these kinds of attitudes.”The sheik told supporters it was their duty to “carry the light of Islam to the rest of the world … Not with flowers. It was the army of Muslims which started from Medina, and they went to China, India, and the Maghreb.

“That is jihad.”

He said under an Islamic government, alcohol would be banned, a strict dress code enforced for all Australians and languages other than Arabic banned in schools.

Mr Ciobo said if Mr Al-Wahwah held dual citizenship the government should facilitate his move to another country more to his liking.

“I couldn’t care less if he preaches to five people or 5000,” he said.

“It only takes one or two crazies to take his message of jihad and to cause problems.

“If he’s going to preach a message that this country needs to be under sharia law then he should go to where he can live under sharia law – and that is not in Australia.”

HAMAS shot some 20 Palestinians on Monday night for protesting against Hamas for the massive destruction inflicted on their neighbourhood in Shejaia by the IDF in the past weeks, Channel 10 reported on Tuesday. UN voices outrage over Gaza school strike

Israel confirms firing on a target near UNRWA school, which left at least 10 people dead.

The UN expressed outrage after another deadly Israeli strike on one of its schools in the southern city of Rafah killed at least 10 people, in the third such incident within 10 days.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon strongly condemned Sunday’s shelling, calling it “a moral outrage and a criminal act.”

“This madness must stop,” he said.

Yes. The Arabs should be stopped from shooting rockets into Israel, but Ban is not outraged about that.

The United Nations, predictably, has condemned Israel for defending itself, suggesting that Israel may have committed war crimes in fighting to protect its citizens from rockets and terror tunnels as Hamas hides and fights among Palestinian civilians. In fact it is the UN itself that is likely to have committed war crimes in this conflict, and it should be subject to criminal inquiry.

Specifically, the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) should be investigated for the crime of hiding weapons in its Gaza schools—offensive weapons, at that, which have no purpose other than killing Israel civilians. Three schools have “discovered” rockets so far, and though UNRWA denies it, Israel suspects UNRWA has given the rockets back to Hamas—the “local authorities.”

Here’s one example. To understand the current conflict in Israel, it’s vital to read the Hamas charter. Without reading this foundational text, it’s impossible to understand where Hamas comes from and why they behave the way they do.

And what does article eight of the charter confirm as the slogan of Hamas?

“Allah is its goal, the Prophet its model, the Qur’an its Constitution, Jihad its path and death for the case of Allah its most sublime belief.”
