*  Using billboards to raise awareness against the Islamic onslaught? Will it work?

*  Group hopes to spark debate over accepting Islamic rules in U.S.

An organization in Florida plans to educate what it perceives as an increasingly culture-tolerant public about the horrific dictates of Islamic law by purchasing billboard space with a simple, but confrontational message: “Sharia law is hate.”

The Central Florida chapter of the United American Committee, a nonprofit group that seeks to educate Americans on the threat of Islamic extremism, is raising money to purchase a six-month contract to display the billboard, which the group hopes will awaken the public to discussing the full extent of Islamic law.

“The UAC’s goal in this project is to raise awareness because most people have no idea what Sharia law is,” Alan Kornman, director ofUAC’s Central Florida branch, told WND. “We are confident people will see the billboard and learn on their own what Sharia law is and come to their own conclusions. At the very least, we hope our billboard will spark public debate on this overlooked issue.”

China Jihad claims another eight dead and four injured

* All because of Israel, no doubt.

Or could it be they are doing it for the promise of Paradise offered to those who “kill and are killed” for Allah (Qur’an 9:111).???

Macquarie University: Jew-haters of the world unite!

 Breeding brownshirts for the future:

Staff of Macquarie University describe their blog on the Middle East:

Khaldoun is a site that places scholarly and informed perspectives into the public realm to promote understanding, tolerance and ultimate peace in the Middle East.

Let’s see how all that current of understanding, tolerance and peace is flowing, shall we?

The nonviolent protests of Palestinians, at any rate, generally receive no coverage unless the Israelis shoot and kill children at them…

The remainder of the coverage concerns Israel’s ongoing overt and covert war against the Palestinians on all its fronts: new settlements, water expropriation and theft, smashing of Palestinian villages, incursions into Palestinians cities and abductions of Palestinians (including civilians and elected officials), and the siege on the Palestinian economy…

Arabs go apeshit over anti-Islamic event in Cologne

* Plenty of howling and whingeing going on:

‘far right extremist inflammatory racist hatred’-

Its getting kind of tiresome. Its all been overused. Done to death. Islam is not a race, repeating it over and over doesn’t make it so…

Arab News:

A spokesman for the OIC’s Islamophobia Observatory in Jeddah said in a statement issued yesterday that the proposed conference was aimed at arousing anti-Muslim sentiments in Europe and that it would pose a threat to inter-communal peace and harmony in society.

* Right. Anything anti-Islam ‘poses a threat to intercommunal peace and harmony in society’- Islamic terrorism and the doctrine of perpetual jihad warfare against unbelievers have nothing to do with it. Right?

Right?

The Myth of Moral Equivalency

Hat tip: Yid with Lid

“Moral Equivalence” is Neither Moral or Equivalent

Former Israeli Ambassidor to the UN Dan Gillerman talks about being interviewed during the second Lebanon War:

“I was sitting in front of a CNN reporter who accused us of killing hundreds of Lebanese, including dozens of children, while we only lost 54 soldiers. I told her, ‘You really make me feel ashamed and apologize to you for not being able to provide you with more dramatic numbers.’ It was live, and she was pretty shocked. But this is reality. You do your utmost to try and explain the difference between people aiming at women, children and babies in order to kill them because they are Jews and Israelis, and on the other hand – a democratic state trying to defend its citizens.”

What Gillerman was talking about was a favorite strategy of both the MSM and the Palestinians, “Moral Equivalence.” But “Moral Equivalence” is Neither Moral or Equivalent…..

The Myth of Moral Equivalency
Burt Prelutsky
Friday, August 08, 2008
There was a time not all that long ago when most of us agreed about what constituted good and evil. But that time, I’m afraid, has come and gone and is now as passé as five cent cigars and 45 cents-a-gallon gasoline.

Our former sense of morality hasn’t been replaced by immorality, at least not entirely, but by something that’s probably more dangerous because it comes cleverly disguised as broad-mindedness. Those in the mass media and academia ridicule people who still believe there are nations, values and cultures, that are superior to others, and they regard those Americans who have the temerity to disagree with them as yokels, super patriots and religious hypocrites. The elitists trumpet moral equivalency as an ideal. And yet, time and again, they display their own double standards. The same folks who were so upset about George W. Bush’s time in the Air National Guard and his early problems with alcohol aren’t the least put out by Barack Obama’s avoidance of military service and his admitted use of illegal drugs. Apparently even moral equivalency doesn’t exist if one of the parties is a Republican and the other is a Democrat.

Steven Spielberg and his sophomoric cohorts got the moral equivalency ball rolling with “Munich,” a piece of Hollywood hooey that contended that there was no real difference between Palestinian cut-throats murdering 11 Israeli athletes at the ’72 Olympics and Israel’s tracking the murderers down and meting out justice.

Update: “sooner or later you shall pay”

“Using government lawyers and taxpayers’ money, they have been pursuing me, infringing on my natural rights of free speech, freedom of the press, and freedom of religion”

In “Ezra Levant 1, Canadian Thought Police 0” in Pajamas Media, August 8, the great Kathy Shaidle says: “Ezra Levant is off the hook and he isn’t happy about it.”

The case against Levant has been dropped, but Levant is still angry. Find out why.

SHIITE MILITANTS IN EUROPE

Spy Case Casts Light on Hezbollah Recruitment in Germany

By Ulrike Putz in Beirut Spiegel Online

A young Israeli man who studied in Germany has been arrested on espionage charges in Israel. Khaled K., of Palestinian descent, allegedly spied for the Hezbollah Shiite militia. His case is expected to highlight Hezbollah recruiting activities in Germany.

When Khaled K. stepped off the plane from Germany to start his summer vacation, it wasn’t his family that awaited him at the gate. Instead Shin Bet agents and police greeted the 29-year-old Israeli man of Palestinian descent when he arrived on July 16 at Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport. He was arrested and disappeared into custody for two weeks until Israeli officials filed charges against him on Wednesday and lifted a gag order on coverage of his arrest.

Hezbollah might be more active in Germany than officials thought.

Hezbollah might be more active in Germany than officials thought.

The charges filed by state prosecutors are serious. They allege the man, who comes from the Israeli-Arab town of Kalanswa, sought contact with an agent with connections to Hezbollah in an effort to pass on information.

The indictment alleges he also supplied names of potential recruits to the Shiite militia and that he had expressed his preparedness to take a job at the Rambam Hospital in the Israeli city of Haifa after completing his studies in Germany, where he is enrolled as a student at the University of Göttingen near Hanover. Israeli soldiers in the 2006 war against Hezbollah are still being treated at the Rambam Hospital, and K. was apparently supposed to sound them out in order to obtain information that could be useful to Hezbollah.

Prosecutors also allege that the Israeli-Arab was paid a total of €13,000 for his services. According to the Israeli Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem, he has confessed to the charges.

"Uighur separatists have for decades waged a campaign against Chinese rule"

China: Nine killed in explosion in Xinjiang

Beijing, 8 August (AKI) – Nine people were reported to have been killed on Friday in an explosion in the northwest Chinese city of Ili, in the country’s predominantly Muslim province of Xinjang.

Local sources told a correspondent from the Arab television network, al-Jazeera, that a big explosion occurred hours before the Olympic Games were due to begin in Beijing on Friday (Photo).

It was not immediately clear whether the explosion was caused by a deliberate attack or an accident.

A Jihadist group, Ansar al-Jihad, said on Thursday it planned to post a video related to attacks which killed 16 policemen in the restive northwestern Muslim region of Xinjiang on Monday.

Last month a group calling itself the Turkestan Islamic Party claimed responsibility for several bus bombings in Shanghai and Kunming, capital of the southwestern province of Yunnan.

Turkestan is another name for Xinjiang. The province is home to several ethnic groups but is mainly made up of Muslim Uighurs, who have a Turkic language and culture.

Uighur separatists have for decades waged a campaign against Chinese rule.

The Chinese/Uighur conflict about jihad, not "ethnicity"

* Chinese Islamists threaten Olympics: US group

* Terror gang hacked at police with swords

Update on the Olympic threat. Counter-terrorism expert Walid Phares examines the so-called “ethnic” conflict between the Uighurs and Chinese, concluding that it’s simply good ol’ jihad fi sabil Allah. “China discovers al Qaeda in its backyard,” by Walid Phares for Counter Terrorism Blog, August 7:

Interestingly the Associated Press runs to frame the Terrorists to a local ethnic conflict in one of China’s Western provinces. AP wrote: “Chinese forces have for years been battling a low-intensity separatist movement among Xinjiang’s Uighurs, a Turkic Muslim people who are culturally and ethnically distinct from China’s Han majority.” The news agency has tried to set the agenda of the debate by scoring three points for the “radicals.” They are separatists, they are representative of a local ethnicity and they are Muslim. In addition the description of the struggle is informative: Chinese forces versus a Uighur movement. In a way a parallel to Kosovo, Chechnya and Kashmir with two projected effects. As framed by AP, the struggle of these “Terrorists” is indeed legitimate even though the means are violent. But is it the case?

“Chinese Islamic Group Threatens Attack at Beijing Olympics,” from Associated Press, August 7.
