Archbishop Chrysostomos II called on migrants from Turkey to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to leave the island. ‘Only those married to Turkish Cypriots should stay,’ he said.
The head of the Greek Orthodox Church in Cyprus, Archbishop Chrysostomos II, has cast doubt on the Cyprus peace process after he said that giving the Turkish Cypriots more than 25% of the island’s territory would be a ‘red line’ for the church.
Speaking to the Greek Cypriot Fileleftheros newspaper, the archbishop said that he didn’t believe the Cyprus problem would be solved.
‘The Turks are not the only ones with red lines,’ he said, adding ‘we too have red lines. For the church, the red line is giving the Turks – who only make up 18% of the population – mpre than 25% of the land.’
He also said that should more than 25% be granted to the Turks, we would call upon the Greek Cypriots to vote ‘no’ on any referendum regarding the re-unification of the island.
‘If the Turks continue with their demands, it is certain that the peace talks will end,’ he warned.

87 people “on the Brandeis faculty” (professors? adjuncts? T.A.s? Who, exactly?) apparently joined in signing a collective letter demanded that the University rescind its planned invitation to Ayaan Hirsi Ali to speak at the 2014 Commencement, and to rescind its giving her an honorary degree.
Would it not be useful to know — useful for potential or present students, useful for all of the faculty members at Brandeis and at other universities, too, where some of those signers may someday be applying for jobs — their names and their departments? (More below the fold)

Is this Constitutional? No one particularly cares — to care about such questions would be “Islamophobic.” But imagine the outcry if American taxpayers were funding grants from US Embassies to promote Christianity. That would make the front page of the New York Times and be the top story on all the nightly news shows.

The Czech government has approved a new project aimed at promoting Islam in public elementary and secondary schools across the country.
The project—Muslims in the Eyes of Czech Schoolchildren—is being spearheaded by a Muslim advocacy group and is being financed by American taxpayers through a grant from the US Embassy in Prague. (The US State Department is also promoting Islam in other European countries.)
The group says the Czech Ministry of Education has authorized it to organize lectures and seminars aimed at “teaching Czech schoolchildren about Islamic beliefs and practices” and at “fighting stereotypes and prejudices about Muslims.”
Expletives were sprayed on the walls, a library full of hundreds of books left trashed and kerosene was poured on the ground when vandals broke into an Islamic community centre in Monash and caused hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage on Sunday night.
Members of the Canberra Islamic Centre discovered the centre had been damaged by intruders for the second time in the past eight days after they arrived for evening prayers about 5.30pm.
Centre president Azra Khan said they were in shock as the centre had been “completely trashed”. (Read more)

The ACT’s religious community has rallied around the Canberra Islamic Centre, describing Sunday’s vandalism as ”appalling” and ”deplorable”.
Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture executive director Stephen Pickard said the vicious crimes against the centre, which was ransacked by vandals in Tuggeranong on Sunday, were not representative of Canberra.

Report: Political correctness condemns thousands to torture
Under pressure from political correctness, authorities have allowed Muslim pedophile gangs in the United Kingdom to groom underage girls for sexual abuse for decades, victimizing as many as 10,000 schoolgirls, according to a report by an organization calling for an investigation.
