Islamist militants Devout Muslims in Algeria have purportedly responded to call from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) to target Westerners by kidnapping a French mountain guide and threatening to behead him unless France halts its actions against ISIS.

In a new video that recently appeared online, two masked and armed militants head choppers are seen with a man who describes himself as a 55-year-old Nice native named Herve Gourdel.

Beats me why anyone would go hiking in Algeria, knowing that the chances to get out alive  are less than fifty fifty….

THE ISLAMIC State has called for terrorist attacks in Australia and elsewhere, arguing the killing of civilians is justified if their government has joined the US-led attack on the group.

At least one Australian is using social media to share the audio of a speech purportedly delivered by the group’s official spokesman and senior official, Syrian-born Sheik Abu Mohammed al-Adnani, who names Australia several times as an enemy of the Islamic State…

In the speech, Adnani said Australia had no justification for joining the US-led coalition to fight the Islamic State, before calling for “mujahideen” to “rise and defend your state from your place wherever you may be”.

”If you can kill a disbelieving American or European — especially the spiteful and filthy French — or an Australian, or a Canadian, or any other disbeliever from the disbelievers waging war, including the citizens of the countries that entered into a coalition against the Islamic State, then rely upon Allah, and kill him in any manner or way however it may be,” Adnani said, according to a translation of the speech released by one of the group’s propaganda arms, Al-Furqan.

The disproportionate attention given to “radicalism” on TV screens and front pages of newspapers feeds into ongoing misrepresentations of Muslims living in western nations. Although the government has assured us the latest measure does “not intend to demonise Muslim Australians”, there is no denying “radicalisation” is treated in the public debate as though it were exclusively bound up with the menace of Islamism. It’s a dangerous game fuelled by the media. The Islamic State plays on this very knowledge as part of its campaign of fear. They have been able to take advantage of the west’s fear of home-grown radicalism and demonisation of Muslims in the media to stoke opposition.

In his speech responding to the horrific murder of journalist James Foley by a British jihadist, President Obama delivered the following rebuke (using an alternate name for ISIS):

In his subsequent remarks outlining a strategy to defeat ISIS, the President declared:

Now let’s make two things clear: ISIL is not Islamic. No religion condones the killing of innocents, and the vast majority of ISIL’s victims have been Muslim…. ISIL is a terrorist organization, pure and simple. And it has no vision other than the slaughter of all who stand in its way…. May God bless our troops, and may God bless the United States of America.

As an atheist, I cannot help wondering when this scrim of pretense and delusion will be finally burned away—either by the clear light of reason or by a surfeit of horror meted out to innocents by the parties of God. Which will come first, flying cars and vacations to Mars, or a simple acknowledgment that beliefs guide behavior and that certain religious ideas—jihad, martyrdom, blasphemy, apostasy—reliably lead to oppression and murder? It may be true that no faith teaches people to massacre innocents exactly—but innocence, as the President surely knows, is in the eye of the beholder. Are apostates “innocent”? Blasphemers? Polytheists? Islam has the answer, and the answer is “no.”

These illegals, who cannot possibly offer the Italian state anything of value, and who are an enormous expense — beginning with security, but also including expenses to the health system, the education system (should any wish to learn Italian, or have children with them) — keep coming and coming. They are damaging, even destroying, much of Italy. And doing the same in the rest of Europe. The most dangerou are those who are Muslims, but Muslim immigrants are not the only danger. The time of buonismo, angelismo, goody-goodyness, has passed, or should have, all over the besieged Western world.

The Islamic State Makes Everything Perfectly Clear 

Here is a long declaration just released by the Islamic State. Every word deserves to be read, and understood. It is addressed both to fellow Muslims around the world, calling on them to kill non-Muslim military and civilians (for there is no distinction to be made) and is a warning to non-Muslims, setting out the Islamic basis for every action of the members of the Islamic State, and predicting that Allah will give ultimate victory, all over the world, to the Muslims who will then rule over the world as they wish.

A statement to be sent to as many people as possible, especially those who in the press attempt to write about Islam and, of course, to the blairs and kerrys (Kerry himself isamusingly described in the English translation of the statement, as an “old geezer”) of this world.

Islamic State Demands All Shiite And Christian Property Be Handed Over

The Shiites, in the view of the Uber-Sunnis of the Islamic State, are Infidels — even, perhaps, the worst of Infidels — and so their property can be treated just like that of other non-Muslims.

But, you may say, shouldn’t they be allowed to keep their property, and to pay the Muslims, through an annual Jizyah only?

No. Consider the example of Muhammad. When he defeated those he attacked — think of the inoffensive Jewish farmers of the Khaybar Oasis — he simply seized all of their property, and their women too, while slaughtering the men. He didn’t say: You can keep your property, but pay us, over time, an annual Jizyah. The Islamic State relies not only on the Qur’an but on the Sunnah — that is, the behavior of the earliest, and therefore most authentic, best Muslims. And Muhammad was the most authentic, best of Muslims; he is the Model of Conduct, he is the Perfect Man.

So don’t worry — the Islamic State is being completely, totally, Islamic, and every true and truthful Muslm knows this. And that’s what’s disturbing them so much: they know that this is the pure Islam on display, and while they have ways of dealing with this, they don’t want the Infidels to realize this.
