Three explosions ripped through the Belgian capital this morning. Shots were fired and shouting was heard in Arabic in Brussels Airport before the first two attacks. A third explosion, minutes from the European Union offices, rocked Maelbeen metro station.

“Belgian police have said 94 returned Jihadists from Syria are living there. This is amazing to me that these people can kill people abroad, come here, and then walk free in the centre of Brussels.
“Free movement of people in Europe allows these people to travel across Europe, to move their explosives and guns across the EU. It means free movement for fighters, for guns. It allows them to move at will”.
Multiple blasts have rocked Brussels today, with two explosions at the departure hall of the city airport and a further blast at a metro station in town.
Early reports this morning suggested there had been one fatality, but Belgian media are now reporting that number has risen to at least 23, with dozens injured.
ANTI-terror experts have been scrambled to Brussels airport after two explosions.
Multiple injuries have been reported and medics are racing to the scene.
The cause of the two blasts, which occurred at around 8am this morning at an American airline check-in desk, are unknown at this stage.
There are unconformed reports that a bomb had been placed next to a check-in desk.
The blasts occurred four days after the arrest in Brussels of a suspected participant in November militant attacks in Paris that killed 130 people. Belgian police had been on alert for any reprisal action.
Social media showed pictures of smoke rising from the departure hall where all windows had been shattered by the blast. Passengers were seen running away down a slipway from the departure lounge.
Mr Rossi, who was at the airport en route for Tel Aviv, told the channel: “I could feel the buildings move.”
The incident came as the Belgian capital was on a state of high alert following the arrest of Paris terror attack suspect Salah Abdeslam in the city last week.
According to reports the incident centred on an American Airlines desk in a departure hall.
Belgian media were reporting several casualties.

Travellers were left dazed and confused
Mr Rossi told Sky News people were “dazed and shocked”.
“The thinking here by everybody is that it is some kind of terrorist attack although that hasn’t been verified by anyone here at the airport.
“No word too of casualties. Don’t know how the explosion took place, the method if you like. But it certainly seems Brussels airport has been targeted in a terrorist attack.
“We are all being moved out of the airport now towards the emergency exit. There is a great deal of confusion here. Certainly there are a number of very upset, as you might imagine, very frightened people.”
He added: “There are fears that there might be other attackers.”
Mr Rossi told Sky News as he was being ushered out of the airport along with other passengers: “We felt the walls of the building rock. Dust came down from the ceiling.
“I think it was a very big explosion – hardly surprising the windows are blown out.
“I would expect if there were people around when those explosions happened – we heard two explosions – there will be a number of casualties.”

If there is a historical weapon more powerful and decisive than guns, it is certainly guilt. The obvious reason why public displays of moral outrage are more about social signaling than they are about morality is the simple fact that most people are far more social than they are ethical.
