Mullah Krekar Threatens Author With Death

by Baron Bodissey/Gates of Vienna

Mullah Krekar is at it again. Norway’s baddest Muslim dude knows that for humanitarian reasons he can’t be deported, and that the Norwegian multicultural justice system is unlikely to bother him if he spouts off a bit here and there. So he’s started up again with the death threats.

According to VG Nett, as translated by The Observer:

Mullah KrekarMullah Krekar verbally attacks the controversial author in a podcast posted on the Kurdish internet site, Renesans.nu

According to Norwegian newspaperAftenposten, the author in question has been living in hiding in Norway for a year and a half, and has been granted political asylum. The Kurdish author was sentenced to jail in absentia in Iraq last year for writing that the prophet Mohammad was guilty of murder and rape.

He is spitting on us

According to Aftenposten and its interpreter, whose services are frequently requested by the Norwegian police, Mullah Krekar is comparing the author with Salman Rushdie and Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

Krekar claims that the author is ‘spitting on us’ and describes him as a dishonest human being.

“One needs to ask why this person should be killed and which laws should be applied to this particular case.”

Krekar also said that according to the principles of the Sharia law, the author would have the opportunity to defend himself against the accusations, and that he would have to show remorse in order to avoid getting the death sentence.

Death threats

The author claims to have received several death threats, and insists that a fatwa has been issued, sentencing him to death if he fails to ask for forgiveness for his writings.

The Islamic Committee in Northern Iraq, accused the author of insulting the prophet Mohammad, and in the court case from December last year an arrest order was issued, instructing the local police to arrest the author as soon as he returns to northern Iraq.

Could be seen as an encouragement to kill

Mullah Krekar’s Norwegian attorney, Brynjar Meling, insist that the Norwegian translation is inaccurate because the broader context is missing. Krekar, however, still stands by his statements.

“Krekar claims that as a scholar, he only speaks about what the Koran say about these issues and that he himself didn’t suggest the fatwa,” Meling says.

Religion historian, Kari Vogt, does not see Krekar’s statements as death threats or justifications to kill.

“But if someone who’s mentally unstable wanted to attack the author, they could find justifications for doing so in these types of statements,” Vogt says

The secret service branch of the Norwegian police (PST) does not wish to make any comments on the matter.

Too small? Click here This is a satirical website. None of what you read here has anything to do with Islam, because Islam is a Religion of Peace. Everybody knows that good Muslims never do the things they do, (because Allah does it for them, Quran 8:12) and we know that only our misperceptions, ignorance and stereotyping of Islam makes Muslims chop off heads, kill and rape women and children, bomb subways, buses, nightclubs and fly jets into buildings. If it wasn't for the media and da Jooozzz, we wouldn't even know its happening. We welcome open, honest, thoughtful, and vigorous discussion in the comments threads, so do yourself a favour and don't accuse us of being 'haters' because we are loving, tolerant people. Don't curse us, don't threaten us with death or hellfire, and don't accuse us of being "just like the terrorists" because we don't do to Muslims what they do to us or to themselves. Yes, we know that only idiots oppose Islam and sensible people submit, but  you should know that we are ignorant bigots, hypocrites and Islamophobes, and we prefer to remain that way... But since you are forcing yourselves (and your abhorrent belief-system on us) we will defend ourselves, because we must. Avoid tu quoque and ad hominem attacks. Don't bother with circular reasoning either, we been there, done it.  If you annoy us, you will be banned and your posts summarily deleted. Try to add to the discussion, don't try to sell snake oil, don't try to cover us with Islamic shrouds of kitman and taqiyya, don't bother with da'awa, (we've heard it before) don't spam us with long pieces of cut & paste, write in English, try to tell the truth, (we know that's hard for you because you are all pathological liars) but the truth will set you free, try it! One more thing: don't think you can post here under multiple monikers. You will quickly be disappeared! The same goes for trufers and conspiracy kooks: you get one chance, one time. Blow it out of your ass if you must; put your stupidity on display. But you won't be back, trust me on that. Take a deep breath before you post, try to make some sense, do not just vent, do not make a fool of yourself and if you prove us wrong you can earn 10 Islamic dollars for your piggy bank. Deal?

As reported in “Mariwan Halabjaee, the Salman Rushdie of Iraqi Kurdistan, Threatened by Mullah Krekar” and at Sex, Sharia and Women in the History of Islam, in September 2008 Mullah Krekar threatened to kill Mariwan Halabjaee in an audio file published on the Kurdish website Renesans.nu. Mullah Krekar was the original leader of the Islamist terrorist group Ansar al-Islam in Iraq.

Mr. Halabjaee is the author of the book Sex, Sharia and Women in the History of Islam. The allegedly “blasphemous” book is about how Islam is allegedly used to oppress women. Mullah Krekar compared Mr. Halabjaee with, among others, Salman Rushdie and Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

Mr. Halabjaee was forced to flee to Norway from Iraqi Kurdistan because the Islamic League of Kurdistan issued a fatwa to kill him. In August 2006, Mr. Halabjaee was granted political asylum in Norway. In December 2007, Mr. Halabjaee was convicted in absentia in Iraqi Kurdistan for the crime of blasphemy.

Ironically, Mullah Krekar, like Mr. Halabjaee, currently resides in Norway as a refugee. Since February 2003 Mullah Krekar has an expulsion order against him in Norway. The order has been suspended, however, pending Iraqi government guarantees that Mullah Krekar will not face torture or execution.
