Surprised?

Turkey’s PM Erdogan served four months of a 10-month term in 1998 for reciting a poem at a rally which ran : “Mosques are our barracks, the minarets our bayonets, the domes our helmets and the believers our soldiers-” his agenda is clear. Erdogan and his partner in crime Abdullah Gul make no beef about making Turkey Islamic. But the Western media keeps deceiving themselves and Eurabia’s clueless nations, who seem to like being deceived.

If you thought Turkey was no threat to the West, think again. A new generation of politicians is aiming to Islamise the state by stealth. The AKP – Adalet ve Kalkinma Partisi, or Justice and Development Party – has a stranglehold on Turkey for the foreseeable future.

The AKP was founded to replace a previous Islamic party banned for extremism. It benefited hugely from the corruption scandals that dragged down the previous government, taking two-thirds of parliament in the 2002 general election (on a third of the vote).

On Friday, its ex-foreign secretary Abdullah Gul narrowly failed to win a victory in the first round of presidential elections. The result was close enough to prompt public demonstrations by secularists ahead of the second round voting on May 2, and a statement from the military – long theguardians of Turkey’s secular traditions – warning against a pro-Islam political agenda.

Since coming to power, the AKP has done nothing revolutionary, but it does have a revolutionary agenda. For all their suavity, its leaders seek to transform the country into a Sunni Muslim republic. This collides with institutions and laws strictly limiting Islam’s role in public life, and with a long-standing security alliance with Israel.
It also collides with democracy itself, for no Koranic state can have a sovereign parliament free to legalise such abominations as equal rights for women and homosexuals or the drinking of alcohol.

A sinister slogan attributed to the AKP is that democracy is ‘a bus we can ride until we reach our station’. Under Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his foreign secretary Abdullah Gul, the party has been cautious until now.

But abroad the AKP has been more strident. Turkey has stepped up relations with Muslim countries and cooled them with Israel. They have capitalised on public suspicion of the Western war on terror and yet have pursued Turkey’s application to join the EU.

There is no inconsistency. The AKP’s apparent ambitions in Europe are its most strategic deceptions. Ostensibly, the aim is simply to accelerate Turkey’s climb to prosperity.
However, a key condition imposed by the EU is the army’s abrogation of political authority – which suits the AKP just fine, for the military is the greatest barrier to Islamisation. Moreover, the party shares the Islamist belief that Europe will inevitably be conquered by the high birthrates of its Muslim inhabitants – and Turkey’s entry would immediately add some 70 million.

Then there’s the media. There are three major groups in Turkey, compared to which any Islamist operations are small. However, the government now has a hold over all of them because of contested tax liabilities, and because the government-controlled Savings Deposits Insurance Fund can seize their associated banks at any time without even having to go to court.

The results are manifest in coverage that mostly reflects the AKP agenda – and duly affects public opinion. Why else would Valley of the Wolves, whose cast includes US actors Billy Zane and Gary Busey, become the most successful Turkish film ever? The story includes American army officers selling body parts from captured Iraqis – with Jewish surgeons removing them! No wonder the AKP cabinet took their wives to the opening gala.
The party has also done its best to Islamise the bureaucracy. Even in Istanbul, post-office employees now stop work for Friday prayers, and civil servants are no longer expected to work a full day during Ramadan.
And just to make sure, the AKP has literally bought public opinion in poor urban areas by distributing food packages, paid for by contributions from big business.
Although the wind is blowing their way, I doubt if more than 15 per cent of the population really want a full-blown Sunni republic. But the AKP is being patient. Gul and Erdogan are clearly willing to defer Turkey’s Islamisation if they can advance Europe’s.

FRANKFURT (AFP-EJP)—German police said on Friday they have arrested a German of Afghan origin in connection with a knife attack on a rabbi in Frankfurt that outraged the country’s Jewish community.

According to reports, he has confessed but said that he didn’t want to kill his victim.

The 22-year-old suspect claimed he drew a knife and stabbed the rabbi in self defence after an argument between them turned violent, state prosecutors in the western city said.

* That’s right: self-defence! The existence of Jews is offensive to Muslims, so killing a Jew is self-defence. Got it!?

Police said that they found the man, who was born in Germany to Afghan parents, after he bragged about the incident in an internet forum.

The suspect will appear before an investigating judge later on Friday and could face charges of causing grievous bodily harm and attempted manslaughter.

The attack occurred on Friday 7 September Rabbi Zalman Gurevitch, co-director of the Chabad-Lubavitch community in Frankfurt was walking home from his synagogue.

ROME (Reuters) – A far-right Italian senator outraged Muslims on Thursday by calling for a “Pig Day” protest against the planned construction of a mosque in northern Italy.

Roberto Calderoli of the anti-immigrant Northern League party said he was ready to bring his own pig to “defile” the site where the mosque is due to be built in the northern city of Bologna.
“I am making myself and my pig available for a walk at the site where they want to build the mosque,” Calderoli, who is a deputy speaker of Italy’s Senate, said in a statement.

Calderoli also said he would eat “a nice plateful of pork chops to show my lack of sympathy for those who consider pork forbidden meat.”

Muslims do not eat pork and consider pigs and their meat too filthy to touch.

“Those words are highly offensive and indecent, especially as they are coming from an Italian lawmaker,” Mario Scialoja, a prominent leader of Italy’s Muslim community, told Reuters. “It left me speechless”.

Tensions flare regularly between communities in predominantly Catholic Italy over the site of new mosques to serve a growing Muslim population.

Council refuses to remove hate books

A LONDON council has refused to remove extremist Islamic books from its libraries.

* Why should they? They are the books of the ‘Religion of Peace’- and it would be hateful towards moderate Muslims to remove them. Right?

Three libraries in the London borough of Tower Hamlets were found to stock books promoting antisemitism, violent jihad (holy war) and sexism.

Some of these were by convicted race-hate preachers including Abu Hamza al-Masri, whose convictions include stirring up racial hatred and soliciting to murder, and who is serving a seven-year prison sentence for incitement. There were also works by Sheikh Abdullah al-Faisal, who was jailed in 2003 for repeatedly calling for the murder of non-Muslims. Al-Faisal was released and deported earlier this year. One of the 7/7 London bombers, Jermaine Lindsay, had attended some of his sermons. The books, paid for by taxpayers’ money, form part of the libraries’ “Islamic literature” collections.

A report by the centre-right Centre for Social Cohesion thinktank, called Hate on the State: How British Libraries Encourage Islamic Extremism, last week said that many of the books stocked “incite violence against anyone who rejects jihadist ideologies”, and glorify “acts of terrorism against followers of other religions”.

This week, on a visit to Whitechapel Ideas Store (the new name for libraries), a JC reporter found a large number of books by Sayyid Qutb, often considered the founder of modern Islamic radicalism. In his book, Milestones, he writes: “War should be declared against those from among the ‘People of the Book’ [Christians and Jews] who declare open enmity until they agree to pay Jitzyah [tax paid by non-Muslims in a Muslim state] or accept Islam.”

Jews, he declares, “wanted to perpetuate their evil designs. At the top of the list of these activities is usury, the aim of which is that all the wealth of mankind end up in the hands of Jewish financial institutions, which run on interest.”

Despite the content of the books, Tower Hamlets Council has refused to remove them, on the grounds that the books themselves were not illegal.

A council spokeswoman said: “We will certainly consider this report as part of our ongoing 12-month review of library stock, which has already resulted in improvements to the balance of the Islamic literature in our libraries.

“We have purchased a wider range of Islamic books to reflect the broad range of views within the Islamic world.”

Mark Gardner of the Community Security Trust told the JC: “CST is well aware that many of these authors slander non Muslims, have a particular hatred for Jews, and sow the seeds that allow extremism to flourish.

“The time is well overdue for public bodies to understand the reality of what these people are preaching, and the detrimental impact that this has upon all of our society.”

German Who Created Koran Toilet Paper Convicted

A German citizen was convicted of insulting the Islamic holy book by printing the word “Koran” repeatedly along toilet paper. The man ended up with a suspended sentence of one year in prison and was ordered to perform 300 hours of community service.

The businessman last summer printed sheets of toilet paper with the sentence “Koran, the Holy Qur’an” and sent them to about 15 mosques, television stations and magazines.

In an accompanying letter, authorities say, he asserted that Islam’s holy book is a “cookbook for terrorists” that calls for acts of violence.

He proposed that a “memorial to all victims of Islamic terror” be set up, financed by sales of the toilet paper — an offer that prosecutors say he also posted on the Internet.

The businessman’s offer led to criminal complaints and telephone death threats against him.

Prosecutors argue that the man’s actions overstepped the legally guaranteed freedom to criticize other religions. They say he has cited his right to freedom of opinion and artistic expression, and said his aim was to provoke rather than actually sell the toilet paper.

RADICAL international university students are posing a greater security threat than hardline sheiks by spreading extremist messages at Australian mosques and prayer halls.

Moderate Muslims warned yesterday that international students should be forced to undergo training about the Australian way of life to counter their radical interpretations of Islam.

The former chairman of John Howard’s Islamic reference board, Ameer Ali, said some international students needed to be stopped from poisoning the minds of local Muslims.

“The danger here is that universities are becoming the hotbeds for fundamentalist views among students,” he told The Australian.

“They (international students) go to the mosque and they mix around with the community and bring those same views into Australia. They have a negative influence on student attitudes towards religion.

“The students who come here, they come with the views (they’ve developed) in their own countries – it can be Shia Islam in Iran or Wahabbi Islam in Saudi Arabia. These are the agents of change we are facing now.”

Dr Ali’s comments follow revelations in The Australian that national security networks were monitoring some international students from Iran who were suspected of collecting information on the local Persian community for Tehran. It was revealed that Iranian students were using local mosques to infiltrate Persian groups hostile to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Dr Ali, a visiting fellow in economics at Murdoch University in Perth, accused overseas students from Saudi Arabia of spreading Wahabbism – a radical interpretation of Islam espoused by Osama bin Laden – at universities.

The number of Saudi students in Australia has risen almost eightfold in the past four years, bringing total enrolments to 2090.

The Australian revealed in March that up to 150 university students from Saudi Arabia, Algeria and Egypt who follow Wahabbism overthrew the leadership at the Newcastle Mosque, 160km north of Sydney. The students were accused by the mosque’s then spiritual leader, Bilal Kanj, of converting local Muslims to Wahabbism.

Wellington – An Algerian refugee has won a five-year battle to be allowed to stay in New Zealand after the country’s spy agency said Thursday the Islamic scholar was no longer considered a security risk.

Islam marches on Auckland during ‘Koran-Rage’

The New Zealand spy agency, the Security Intelligence Service (SIS), ruled in 2003 that Ahmed Zaoui was a security risk after his arrival in the country late the previous year.

Zaoui was alleged to have links to Islamist terrorists in Algeria and had been convicted in the 1990s for involvement in preparing terrorist acts in Belgium and France.

SIS director Warren Tucker said the agency’s original security assessment had been justified but statements made by Zaoui at a review in the last two months had led to the change of mind.
“I am now satisfied that in 2007 he is no longer considered to be a security risk,” Tucker told a press conference.

The SIS had also recently received classified information about support provided to terrorism in Algeria by people close to Zaoui.

“This information has helped me to reach the view that it was Mr Zaoui’s associates who were involved in this activity, not Mr Zaoui himself,” Tucker said.

Zaoui’s case was controversial in New Zealand and a committed band of supporters campaigned for him to be allowed to stay in the country.

In 2004 the Refugee Status Appeals Authority granted him refugee status despite the SIS security warning.

The Algerian has been on bail for the last two years and said he was now hoping to bring his family to New Zealand.

“I am very happy and delighted. It is a big relief for me,” Zaoui told Radio New Zealand.

Zaoui stood successfully as a candidate for the Islamic Salvation Front (FIS) in Algerian elections in 1992.

While I was in Brussels, I was shown this newspaper from february 2006. It documents another illegal demonstration, in Schaerbeek, Brussels.

The main text demands “Death to the Jewish dogs” and “Death to the Christian dogs”.

Compared to that, how can anyone call me an extremist for merely wanting to preserve Roman Law in Europe? Is it because I am not religiously motivated? In that case, we secular atheists had better stick together, or they’ll be after us next. .

What have these people got against dogs anyway? What do the “animals rights” brigade have to say about this? Are Jewish dogs circumcised? Are Christian dogs baptised? Can Hindu dogs eat meat? Thinking about it, I’m just glad I am neither christian nor jew and not a dog.

Jew, Christian or labrador, I am none of these things.

But I am, apparently, according to the MSM and our politicians, a “racist” and an “extremist”.

Stone me…..! (..and I’m sure these muslims from the religion of peace would, if they got the chance!)

Strasbourg, 11.09.2007 – European values are under threat, say the organizers of a protest march under the banner “Against the Islamisation of Europe” which was due to place today in Brussels in spite of the ban by the city Mayor. The fact is that Europe and its values are indeed under threat, but the danger is not coming from Islam. Our common European values are undermined by bigots and radicals, both Islamists and islamophobes, who exploit fears and prejudice for their own political objectives.

As long as your common European values include the banning of piglet, Ice cream with improper swirls in the UK, forcing the citizens in the UK to disavow the George cross, getting rid of anything that says Christmas to keep the jihadists happy, the increases in crime associated with Eurabia and lets not forget all the bodies. From honor killings to terror attacks. Then I presume you feel what Stalin called European values.
Sorry mate the radicals of Islam have never worried about European values, they came to Europe to impose their values to live like a state within a state until they take over.

Some participants in the symposium on ‘Apostasy Punishment: Problems and Answers’, called for the need to enact a law banning and criminalizing inter-faith marriage to overcome the problems that could occur between Muslims and Copts as a result of this marriage.
In his speech at the symposium organized by the cultural committee of the Syndicate of Journalists the day before last, Dr Mohamed Kamal Imam, Professor and Chairman of the Islamic Sharia Department at the Faculty of Law of the University of Alexandria, said why do not we pass a law expressly prohibiting marriage between followers of different faiths, especially in Egypt, so that to eliminate the problems that could occur because of this marriage and set off tension between Muslims and Christians.

He stressed that there is no contradiction between Allah’s words: “Then whosoever will, let him believe, and whosoever will, let him disbelieve” and “There is no compulsion in religion” on the one hand and the punishment of apostasy in Islam, because the first case – according to him – deals with the belief and carrying out punishments.

Kamal pointed out that Islam is a universal religion that realistically recognizes other religions and allows Muslims to marry non-Muslims and that it is the only religion that permits this, but enacting a law preventing matrimony between Muslims and followers of other religions would eliminate many problems.

Dr. Nasr Farid Wasel, former Egypt Mufti, said that all scholars agree that the punishment for rejecting Islam is punishable by death, because Islam did not sanction apostasy, because it did not force or coerce any one into embracing Islam, therefore a renegade must either repent or be condemned to the punishment of apostasy, because it is the right of Allah, the Almighty.

Got it: You are born into it, you are brainwashed into it, you are bashed and beaten and forced into it, but since you ’embraced Islam’ you are not allowed to leave, otherwise you must be killed. And if you’re killed by fellow Muslims its not them who kill you, its the hand of Allah himself!

The German Front

Americans were the plot’s main targets and not Germans. Besides American military installations and the Frankfurt airport, the terrorists, in their mindless hatred, were considering attacking discotheques, schools (think of Beslan), bars, or anywhere their sick minds considered there would be American citizens.

According to the Spiegel report, the tracking of the terrorists became an important theme in German-American relations over the past months, most likely because of this Islamist targeting of Americans and their desire to “kill as many people as possible” with bombs a hundred times more powerful than the backpack explosives used in the 2005 London transit bombings. Operation Alberich was considered so important that it was one of the topics of conversation between President George Bush and German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the G8 summit in Heiligendamm, Germany, last June. President Bush was also immediately informed of last week’s terrorist arrests.

The only unfortunate part of the whole affair is that only three of the 49 Islamists that German Federal Intelligence Service chief Jorg Ziercke believes are involved in the plot are in custody where they are remaining silent. The German newspaper, Die Welt, reported Ziercke’s statement regarding the plot’s size as well as the fact that the cell consisted of a solid core of ten terrorists, of whom two are still in Germany but cannot yet be arrested due to a lack of evidence.

But perhaps just as alarming as this large number of potential mass murderers still on the loose and dedicated to killing Americans is the fact that seven persons from German Islamist circles have been arrested in Pakistan over the past months and an additional six are known to be currently in that country. And if such is truly the case, then one can probably expect a lot more friendly words to come America’s way from Western Europe yet.

DEARBORN – Houssein Zorkot, a 26-year-old Dearborn resident, was arraigned Tuesday in 19th District Court on multiple felony charges, including carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent — a five-year felony.
Zorkot, a third-year medical student at Wayne State University, was allegedly armed with an AK-47 assault rifle and dressed in black clothing with camouflage paint covering his face when he was arrested Saturday in Hemlock Park.

According to police, Zorkot was observed attempting to leave the park in a black SUV after officers had received reports of a man carrying a rifle in the area. He was placed under arrest and is scheduled to undergo a preliminary examination at 9 a.m. Sept. 21 in 19th District Court.

Zorkot has also been charged with one count of possession of a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle and one count of felony firearm. He remains in custody on a $1 million bond (cash, no 10 percent).

Algeria: Al-Qaeda accused of recruiting teenage bombers

Algiers, 12 Sept. (AKI) – Al-Qaeda has been accused of recruiting 40 teenage youths in Algeria for suicide attacks in Iraq.

According to a report in the Algerian newspaper, al-Khabar, the youths were being trained to become ‘little Zarqawis’.

It said one 15-year-old boy who had joined the group at the beginning of April was one of two bombers blown up in last week’s suicide bombing in Dellys.

At least 37 people were killed and another 47 injured in the suicide car bomb attack on a naval barracks in the town of Dellys, 100 kilometres east of Algiers. Al-Qaeda later claimed responsibility for the attack.

Al-Khabar said youths were being recruited from local mosques and had dreams of fighting against US troops in Iraq. They were reportedly trained at a camp called Awlad Salah in the province of Boumerdes.

Many of the recruits came from poor local villages and recruiting agents were paid from 450 dollars to 730 dollars for every youth they sent to the training camps.

Mingora (Pakistan): Islamist militants in Pakistan have tried to blow up a seventh-century Buddhist rock carving in an attack reminiscent of the destruction of ancient Buddha statues in Afghanistan six years ago.

There was, however, no damage to the image of the sitting Buddha carved into a 130-foot high rock in mountains 20 km north of Mingora, a town in the scenic Swat valley, northwest of the capital, Islamabad.

A group of masked-men tried to destroy the carving on Tuesday, said provincial archaeology department official Aqleem Khan.

”Militants drilled holes in the rock and filled them with dynamite and blew it up,” Khan said on Wednesday.

”The explosion damaged the upper part of the rock but there was no damage to the image itself,” he said.

Buddhism spread through northern India and flourished in what is now Pakistan and Afghanistan hundreds of years before the arrival of Islam. Both countries are now predominantly Muslim.

Khan compared the attack on the carving to the destruction of two giant standing Buddha statues in Bamiyan province in Afghanistan in early 2001 by the then ruling Taliban.

The Taliban blew up the two ancient statues carved into a cliff face saying they were offensive to Islam, despite appeals from around the world, including from Muslim leaders, that they be saved.

”It’s just like the way the Taliban used to behave,” he said.

Khan said there were no arrangements to guard the site in the Jehanabad area in the Swat valley. Police had been informed of the attack, he said.

As in other parts of northwest Pakistan, militants have intensified their activities in the valley in a bid to force people to follow a strict Islamic code.

There have also been several attacks on security forces in the valley in recent months.

Last week, militants blew up about 60 music, video and cosmetics stalls in a market in the valley after their owners ignored warnings to close their businesses that the Islamists deemed un-Islamic.

Moderate Pakistanis are dismayed by the growing influence of militants pushing their austere interpretation of Islam, mostly in ethnic Pashtun tribal areas in the northwest, in a process known as ”Talibanisation”.

This is How Democracy Works in Belgium’

Defying a legal ban, an estimated 200 people took part in a short-lived demonstration in Brussels Tuesday against “the islamization of Europe.” The gathering was disrupted when Belgian police intervened and detained scores of people, including several European lawmakers.

Among the more than 150 people arrested in the area of the city where many European Union institutions are located were several far-right politicians and members of the European Parliament (MEPs), local media reported. They were released hours later.

Organizers based in several European countries who used the Internet primarily to promote the event had earlier predicted that 20,000 people might take part. They blamed the poor turnout on the legal hurdles and warnings that violence could erupt.

“Of course we’re disappointed by the turnout but it’s all the fault of the authorities,” Radio Netherlands quoted Anders Gravers, a Danish co-organizer, as saying.

“The mayor had no right to stop us. And there were even terror threats against the march, so it’s no wonder people stayed home,” Gravers said. “But we’re here to remind everyone that six years ago today, on 9/11, Islam declared war on the Western world.”

As Cybercast News Service reported earlierBrussels Mayor Freddy Thielemans last month refused permission for a rally to protest “islamization” — including the push to introduce aspects of shari’a (Islamic law) in Europe — and to mark the sixth anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.

Thielemans, a Socialist, cited concerns about threats to law and order, and painted the event organizers — a loose association calling itself Stop the Islamization of Europe” (SIOE) — as racists. Brussels has a sizeable immigration population, and an estimated 17-20 percent of the capital region’s inhabitants are Muslims.

The organizers, who say their aim is to prevent Islam from becoming the dominant political force in Europe, then appealed the decision. The ban was upheld by a Brussels appeals court late last month, but SIOE continued to promote the event, while seeking to distance itself from neo-Nazi or other fringe groups.

Video footage showed police manhandling several demonstrators, handcuffing and shoving them into a police bus. They included Frank Vanhecke and Filip Dewinter of Vlaams Belang (Flemish Interest), a party that promotes restricted immigration and independence for Belgium’s Dutch-speaking region of Flanders.

Before he was taken away Vanhecke, an MEP, was quoted as saying that “the rise of Islam in Europe poses a risk to our values.”

An Italian MEP, Mario Borghezio of the Northern League – also an anti-immigration party – was also arrested, Italian media reported. Borghezio earlier issued a strongly-worded statement criticizing the decision to ban the event.

Vlaams Belang said in a statement on its website, “Today the foreign media has again seen a fine image of how democracy works in Belgium.” It also described the mayor of Brussels as an “islamosocialist.”
