Terror must be normal part of life: al-Qaeda

From correspondents in Dubai |the Australian

AL-Qaeda called on Islamists to sow terror in the West to create a climate of fear, in a third video marking the September 11, 2001 attacks on the US, which was posted on the internet today.

Muhammad: Believe it or else..!

*

* Remember: Al Qaeda members are ‘good Muslims’- they take the Islamic scriptures seriously and will kill and die to emulate their ‘prophet’ Muhammad, a 7th century caravan raider, slave trader, torturer, genocidal mass-murderer, a misogynistic polygamist, child molester, arsonist and megalomanic warlord who invented ‘Allah’- his alter ego, in order to deceive his followers.

* Once again: The AQ-boyz are good Muslims, they follow the Koran and the sunnah, wherein it is written:

Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into the hearts of the enemies of Allah and your enemies…” (Qur’an 8:60)

*

Called “reasons and motives for the attacks on New York and Washington,” the video features a montage of images of the burning World Trade Centre towers and scenes from Islamist training camps.

“We must take Islamist terrorism to Western countries so that it becomes a normal part of life like natural disasters,” a voiceover says.

“In that way, we will have acts of mass extermination in which people will feel that their affluence also brings death… and we will have created a balance of deterrence between us and them,” the unidentified voice adds.

* In other words: Islam can only survive if people remain stupid and poor and in he grip of the Mullah’s and imams…

The new video also includes clips from old voice recordings of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and his Egyptian deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri, as well as a short video clip of Mustafa Abu Al-Yazid, also known as Sheikh Said, the group’s commander in Afghanistan.

Al-Qaeda already released a videotape and an audiotape featuring bin Laden earlier this month to mark the sixth anniversary of the attacks that killed nearly 3000 people in the US.

A third release had been trailed by al-Qaeda’s media arm, As-Sahab. In the event the new video was issued in the name of al-Tanzem, prompting suggestions the network has launched a new media arm.

A remarkable comment from Jihad Watch:

In the UK, say, 10 years ago one of our best stand-up comics, Jasper Carrot (semi-retired now) did a routine were he had a conversation with a Christian. The dialogue was the Christian asked “Why did he always laugh at Christians why didn’t he have a go at the Muslims? The simple answer he gave himself was, “Because they will kill me!” It was incredible that in an auditorium with 5-6000 people who had been laughing up uproariously until then you could have heard a pin drop. I have never seen a professional performer in such a hole and I forget how he stopped digging. I would say there were very few Muslims in the audience but suddenly the silence was deafening.

That is how frightened people are in the UK even before 9/11

How did they do it? Just like this:

No, I have no idea how they did it, but they did it damned well, sez Charles from LGF:

Iran loses faith in clerics

Change elusive in rigid society

By Kim Barker

Tribune foreign correspondent

QOM, Iran

No Mo Moderates, Only Radicals:

The mob shouted for his blood. They called him a traitor; they yelled, “Death to Montazeri.”

330montazeri030202.jpg

The target of their wrath? The Grand Ayatollah Hussein Ali Montazeri.

Once, he was heir apparent to the ruler of the country, an Iranian equivalent to Thomas Jefferson, an Islamic revolutionary who helped topple the dreaded Shah of Iran. Now, though, his fall from grace seemed complete. Outside his home, an unruly crowd of hundreds had branded him a heretic.

As Montazeri, partially deaf, prayed in a room behind his office, he barely heard bricks shattering the windows. But his family members were scared. They ran from the cleric to the chaos outside and back, trying to shield Montazeri from harm.

Eventually, the police took action on that day in 1997, spraying the mob with tear gas. The aging cleric and his family escaped harm. But they would endure years of punishment, house arrest, prison and harassment.

Montazeri’s crime was simple: He had publicly criticized his one-time allies, the clerics who run the country, for abandoning human rights and freedom as the foundation of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

“The shah is gone,” Montazeri said in a recent interview. “But a clergy has replaced him.”

On one level, the story of Hussein Ali Montazeri is a powerful drama of life, death and resurrection in one of the world’s most rigid societies. Critics say he is naive, manipulated by the people around him and bitter after falling out of favor with the government. But at 82, Montazeri has survived years of intellectual apartheid to rise again in the eyes of the Islamic world. Today he is considered one of the top two Shiite clerics worldwide and is a powerful voice for moderation in Iran.

His story also shows the ups and downs of the struggle over Islam in a nation where large numbers of people yearn for the economic and political freedoms practiced in the secular West, often viewed as an icon of immorality by the conservative clerics of Iran.

In thick, black-rimmed glasses, a white skullcap, cardigan sweater and long robe, Montazeri hardly fits the image of a rebel. His hands shake. He often sits on a heating pad. He suffers from diabetes, but he hides chocolates in a desk drawer. He speaks in singsong sentences that trail off in a wheeze.

But Montazeri is at the heart of a battle over Iran’s fate–one that could hint at the future in the Middle East, where radicals from Iraq to the Gaza Strip want an Islamic revolution like the one that happened in Iran 25 years ago.

On one side are the powerful clerics who rule Iran and thwart the most modest reforms.

On the other side, grass-roots reformers complain that the fight for an Islamic democracy actually led to an Islamic dictatorship, one that jails or even kills its critics, violates basic rights and distorts the tenets of Islam.

Led by senior clerics such as Montazeri and one-time foot soldiers of the revolution, they seek democratic reforms that would restore a respect for human rights and freedom. Some, such as Montazeri, believe that the country can be run through an Islamic system. But others believe that religion has no place in government. They want the clergy to return to the mosques. They want a true democracy.

“I don’t have any doubt it will come,” said Ibrahim Yazdi, the Islamic Republic’s first foreign minister, who now leads the country’s only secular-leaning political party.

The people of Iran are caught in the middle, chanting “Death to America” at Friday prayers then welcoming American visitors with fresh fruit. They adhere to strict Islamic codes in public but disappear behind closed doors to drink homemade vodka and watch MTV.

They live in a nation that is rich in oil but has a stagnant economy. Jobs are scarce, the air polluted, the press controlled and the politics repressive.

And in the ultimate irony of the Islamic Republic, the country is becoming less religious, not more.

Friday prayers

On a Friday in January, one of Iran’s top politicians stood on an outdoor stage at the University of Tehran, praising the Islamic Revolution to a crowd of thousands.

“This is a big achievement,” said Hashemi Rafsanjani, Iran’s president from 1989 to 1997. “In today’s world, when many countries and people are against religion, we see a religion emerging capable of making a country run.”

This was no ordinary political stump speech. Rafsanjani was leading weekly Friday prayers, a blend of politics and religion, of pep rally and prayer, of love for Iran’s government and hate for the U.S. and Israel.

On one side of the audience, about 5,000 women sat on Persian carpets. Most wore chadors, sometimes using their teeth to hold the sheet-like coverings over their hair and bodies. They could not see Rafsanjani over the tall dividers separating them from about 15,000 men.

During Rafsanjani’s speech, the crowd responded with the same cheers of praise shouted since the revolution. “God is great,” they yelled. “Death to the United States.”

Iran is still a religious country, despite pushes for political reform. People in the crowd on Fridays embrace the revolution and all that has followed.

“Until the day we no longer have blood in our veins, we will say `Death to America,'” said Soraya Ghayoomi, before cheerfully handing an apple to an American.

Australia: Griffith University A Hotbed Of Wahabism?

Richard Kerbaj | The Australian

$1m Saudi gift to uni

UP to $1 million will be pumped by Saudi Arabia into an Australian university, sparking fears the money will skew its research and create sympathy for an extremist Muslim ideology espoused by al-Qai’da.

James Cook University’s Mervyn Bendle, a senior lecturer in the history of communication and terrorism, said Saudi Arabia would not provide funds to any Islamic initiative without wanting to propagate its own agenda and version of Islam.

“Historically, Saudi funding around the world has been used to promote Wahhabism,” he said.

“It would be naive to just accept on the surface that this is not the case as far as this money is concerned.”

Griffith Islamic Research Unit will also receive a “collection of Islamic books and other materials”, according to the university’s website.

But the director of Griffith’s key Centre for Ethics, Law, Justice and Governance, Ross Homel, defended the Saudi grant the university received on August 23, saying it came with “no strings” attached.

* Right: “No strings attached”-are you really that naive, Mr. Homel?

* Al Waleed is also the guy who owns a lot of America’s Caliphate News Network, he also owns: large holdings in the Four Seasons, Walt Disney, Citigroup etc. Yes, and of course 6 % of Fox News, which also cooks the news ever since, in order not to ‘offend Muslim sensitivities..’

Teaching Muslims moderation

By Lachlan Heywood

YOUNG Muslims will be taught Australian-friendly Islam under a Federal Government plan to stop them falling prey to extremists.

An approved Islamic curriculum will be rolled out by a consortium of universities, including Griffith University in Brisbane, to counter the teachings of Muslim firebrands who preach intolerance and hate.

The establishment of the $8 million national centre of excellence for Islamic studies comes amid outrage over comments by leading Australian Muslim clerics Sheik Taj Din al-Hilali and Sheik Feiz Mohammed.

He is a tireless worker at the local level, however, and in his dual presentation of self, or presentation of dual selves, most instructive. Soft-spoken and smiling and all sweet reason, and with a comfortably American voice, when addressing Infidels, he becomes something quite different for Muslim audiences, where he has been known to chant-and-rant, as in his call of support for Hamas before a crowd in Washington, or whipping up a crowd to show up at a courtroom to mock the proceedings which involved charging a Muslim with plotting to kill the American President. He is also careful, at the local level, to carry out all those carefully-calibrated and well-publicized deeds of supposed charity – to earn Infidel goodwill – that are described as being so useful in the conduct of Da’wa at Muslim sites.

Islamophobia

Looking at the causes and ways to tackle them
OIC Journal, Issue 1

If peace, harmony and equality are to prevail we should start by learning to better communicate with each other based on mutual respect, understanding and empathy of each other. Using such terms as “Islamic fascists”, “Muslim terrorists” and “Islamist fundamentalist extremists” do not help in fighting the so called “war on terrorism”.

On the contrary, such offensive, irresponsible and insensitive terms only serve to inflame resentment towards the US and instill a fear of Muslims in westerns’ mind.

Profiling ‘Asian looking’ people at airports and removing individuals with ‘Muslim sounding names’ from airplanes because they make others uncomfortable is a clear indication of a growing biased fear and suspicion of Muslims.

The publication and republication of cartoons in European media caricaturing the Prophet Mohammed in a way perceived by Muslims as deliberately insulting and defamatory but done, according to the publishers, in the name of freedom of the press, exposed a cultural divide that erupted into anger because of stereotyping.

The horrific, criminal and unjustified terrorist acts of 9/11 in New York and 7/7 in London violently expressed the frustration, disappointment and disillusion that are festering deep in the Muslims’ soul towards the aggressions and discriminations committed against them by the West.

“Converts To Islam Move Up In Cells,” by Craig Whitlock for the Washington Post

BERLIN — Religious converts are playing an increasingly influential role in Islamic militant networks, having transformed themselves in recent years from curiosities to key players in terrorist cells in Europe, according to counterterrorism officials and analysts.
The arrests this month of two German converts to Islam — Fritz Gelowicz and Daniel Schneider — on suspicions that they were plotting to bomb American targets are just one example of terrorism cases in Europe in which converts to Islam have figured prominently.

In Copenhagen, a convert is among four defendants who went on trial this month for plotting to blow up political targets. In Sweden, a webmaster who changed his name from Ralf Wadman to Abu Usama el-Swede was arrested last year on suspicion of recruiting fighters on the Internet. In Britain, three converts — including the son of a British politician — are awaiting trial on charges of participating in last year’s transatlantic airline plot.

* Hmm, interesting: How come we haven’t heard anything about this ‘son of a British politician?’ Who is hiding what, exactly? Don’t you think this is a matter of public interest?

“The number of converts, it seems, is definitely on the rise,” said Michael Taarnby, a terrorism researcher at the Danish Institute for International Studies. “We’ve reached a point where I think al-Qaeda and other groups recognize the value of converts, not just from an operational viewpoint but from a cultural one as well.”

Religious converts are sometimes more prone to radicalization because of their zeal to prove their newfound faith, analysts said. They are also less likely to attract police scrutiny in Europe, where investigators often rely on outdated demographic profiles in terrorism cases.

* Yes, zeal is key, but new converts to Christianity, as zealous as they may be, don’t seem to be blowing anything up. Now, why is that?

Iraq: That Sunni/Shiia Divide

0.jpg

By Robert H Reid for AP via The Guardian:

BAGHDAD (AP) – An al-Qaida front group threatened to assassinate Sunni leaders who support American troops in Iraq as a Shiite bloc loyal to radical cleric Muqtada al-Sadr defected Saturday from the Iraqi government’s parliament base.
The two developments cast doubt over prospects for political and military progress in Iraq as the U.S. Senate gears up for a debate next week on Democratic demands for deeper and faster troop cuts than President Bush plans.

The threat against Sunni leaders came from the ‘Islamic State of Iraq‘-, which claimed responsibility for the assassination Thursday of Abdul-Sattar Abu Risha, the mastermind of the Sunni Arab revolt against al-Qaida in Anbar province. Bush met Abu Risha at a U.S. base in Anbar this month and praised his courage.

Spencer’s comment:

Now while al-Qaeda may be the nastiest of the bunch right now, the idea that defeating them will at last liberate that huge reservoir of Islamic goodwill and cooperation currently only latent is, well, fantasy. If it’s not al-Qaeda it will be somebody else — unless they are forcibly repressed.

In an Islamic context, there are exactly two kinds of regimes possible: Islamic tyrannies and non-Islamic tyrannies. Either way, force is what holds the whole thing together. And don’t talk to me about Turkey. Turkey continually oscillates between full-blown Sharia and military dictatorship. Turkey is as secular as it is thanks to Gemal’s outright repression of Islam.

Force is invariably the key: the question is whether it is employed to repress or to abet Sharia, jihad, and general Islamic imperialism. The result the US administration ostensibly desires in Iraq — a competent, popular, Shia republic — might prove the worst of the possible outcomes. It would effectively turn Iraq into another Iran. Though US policy success in Iraq hardly seems likely. Small consolation.

*

Fitzgerald comments on Turkey/Link

“Turkey continually oscillates between full-blown Sharia and military dictatorship.”
— from the article above

This is not true. The history of modern Turkey does not show it ever to have been forced to endure “full-blown Shari’a.” It would be more accurate to say that Kemal Ataturk was a despot, but an enlightened despot. He systematically constrained Islam. He helped to make possible the development of a secular class, but that same secular class, the class of intended beneficiaries of Ataturk’s measures collectively known as “Kemalism,” were insufficiently wary of Islam, or insufficiently grateful for what Kemalism had done for them, or both, to continue to push for ever more constraints. Nor did they push to expand their numbers as vigorously as they might have. They behaved, in fact, as Turkey’s geopolitical ally the United States behaved during the Cold War, with both the secular Turks and the American government assuming that Kemalism was there to stay, and would continue to inexorably transform Turkey.

bluemosqueturkey14.jpg

What turned out to be permanent, and a permanent threat to Turkey’s dominant secular class who controlled not just the army, but the universities and the judicial system, was not Kemalism, which needed to be constantly protected, but Islam. Islam is the force that keeps coming back, that cannot be kept down, like Rasputin.

And those who fill Western newspapers with contented reports on how the Islam in Turkey is so much better, so much in tune with the modern world (why, just look at those places, say Konya, where Islam and economic activity (it’s always about some bustling textile or candy factory) do not know, cannot know, what Turkish secularists now know.

In the past, it was the army that was seen as the protector of Kemalism, and several times the army seized power, but most temporarily, in order to re-establish a system threatened by Islam. It would be harder now, for Erdogan, following Erbakan, have been whittling away at the pillars of Kemalism — in the war on the Turkish rectors, and even, one suspects, infiltrating their own men, who are well-versed in the need for deception and for patience, into the army, perhaps even into the lower ranks of the officer corps.

Turkey does not “continually oscillate…” It has had, since the early 1920s, a system that has constrained Islam. For nearly half-a-century that system, put in place by a war hero and enlightened despot, continued, though his successors — Inonu, Menderes — added their own twists to, or turns away from Ataturk, who in the meantime, after his death, became the central figure in the cult of “the Turk” which was offered as an alternative to Islam, with Ataturk substitute, as a human form divine, for Muhammad.

Abuse, Sodomy and Murder in the Madrassah

* Muhammedans are always quick condemning Christian clergy for child abuse, but shamelessly and deliberately shroud everything behind multiple veils of secrecy when it comes to child abuse in their own mosques and madrassah’s. But it is no secret that child abuse is far worse in the Muhammedan indoctrination centers:

madarsa1.jpg

Dharmesh Thakkar
(Mumbai)

The Darul Uloom Islamia is one of Mumbai’s many madrasas- an islamic seminary and a cradle of learning. But it now faces allegations of abuse, sodomy and even murder.

Sixteen-year-old Mohammad Shaikh was found dead in the madrasa premises on October 3, 2006. One year on, no answers are forthcoming in the case.

”Someone murdered him. There is also a case of rape. Someone was strangled inside the mosque. Whether he is the Imam’s son or someone else, they should know, the people who live there. But no one comes out with any answer,” said Jamiruddin Shaikh, Mohammad Shaikh’s father.

The boy’s grief-stricken parents are demanding answers but the Noor-e-Mohammadi Muslim Jamat, which runs the Madrassa, is on the defensive.

‘If anything happens inside or outside the madrasa, the responsibility is not of the madrasa. If your son comes here and does some mischief, it’s not our fault. When the boy died, the madrasa was closed. The boy had even given us a letter, saying he needed to go home and he never returned,” said Aziz Chunawala, Vice President, Noor-e-Mohammadi Muslim Jamat.

Distraught parents have repeatedly approached the local police but the case is going nowhere. Their only hope now lies in the police commissioner with whom the complaints are pending.

* Lie and deny. Accuse the victim. Never accept responsibility. Sounds familiar..?

Egypt: The Sixth Coptic- Christian Girl Abducted In One Month

Wataninet:

* totally ignored in the West is the plight of the Coptic Christians in Egypt, who often have their daughters abducted and forcibly married off into a Muhammedan household, never to be seen again. But the Christian Copts have no rights in the courts, since they are dhimmi’s:

The Holy Virgin’s church at the mid-Delta town of Mehalla was the scene of Coptic demonstrations this week in the aftermath of the disappearance of 18-year-old Amal Zaki Nessim. Amal went to work as usual last Sunday but never came back. Her colleagues at the Mehalla Spinning and Weaving Company said she left work early that day with a friend who is a fully-veiled Muslim woman named Samah. Amal’s family reported her missing and Samah was questioned by the police but claimed she knew nothing about Amal’s disappearance. The Copts demonstrated in wrath, demanding that the police find Amal and bring her home since she is underage. Anba Bishoi, Bishop of Dumyat contacted the security authorities who promised to produce Amal on the following day, but did not keep good on their word. Until Watani went to press Amal was still missing with no clue as to where she could be.

Her father was hospitalised with cardiac seizure. Worth noting is that Amal was engaged to get married next week and is reported to have been making the last arrangements for her wedding, reserving an appointment with the hairdresser and the DJ for her wedding music. Amal is the sixth underage Coptic girl to disappear during this month alone, and is the fifth girl to disappear from Mehalla since last October, only two of whom were returned to their families.

BRUSSELS – More and more Muslims are refusing to allow a male gynaecologist to attend at their wives’ deliveries, says the head of gynaecology at the Brussels University Hospital VUB and the Ghent University Hospital. Various newspapers have reported on the problem.

The Flemish Association of Gynaecologists are urging for a strict, uniform policy in all hospitals. The phenomenon is common particularly in cities with a large immigrant population.

The Flemish Association for Obstetrics and Gynaecology (VVOG) acknowledges the problem and urges a strict attitude. “In my own hospital every patient that absolutely insists on a woman doctor is discharged from the hospital immediately,” explains Johan Van Wiemeersch at the Sint-Augustinus in Wilrijk. “As an association of gynaecologists we are urging that these same strict regulations be in place in all maternity wards.”

One of the Church of England’s most senior bishops is warning that people will die unless Muslim leaders in Britain speak out in defence of the right to change faith.

Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester, whose father converted from Islam to Christianity in Pakistan, says he is looking to Muslim leaders in Britain to ‘uphold basic civil liberties, including the right for people to believe what they wish to believe and to even change their beliefs if they wish to do so’.

Germany: No Muslim Cooperation in Antiterrorism Fight

* Yeah. And why would that be?

Because Yvonne Ridley told them not to cooperate with the authorities? Or because Omar Bakri Mohammed and many clerics like him told them not to cooperate either?

Berlin – The lack of cooperation of Muslim communities with the security authorities remains a weak point of the fight against terrorism in Germany. Six years after the attacks on 11 September 2001, according to a survey of the news agency ddp in all federal laender, the authorities can hardly count on active support from Muslim communities. In 2007, they have received practically no specific information on “radicalized fellow believers, on recruiters of terrorist organizations, or on planned attacks.”
Why is that? Whenever someone says something like this in the U.S., Muslim spokesmen charge that they are helping, they are working against terror, but they don’t get any coverage in the press for such efforts. But this is the word of German authorities, who have every interest in playing up the extent of Muslim cooperation.

Yet still, this question, Why not?, as crucial as it is, will not even be asked, or if asked, will be answered by charges of offensive, hyper-suspicious behavior on the part of German authorities.

* On the part of the Muslims, there is great interest “in not having their faith come under general suspicion.”

* You can bet your last dollar that the ummah has no interest at all to have their belief-system scrutinized in a court of law. But that is long overdue…

* Right. Its far better to keep those filthy kuffars stupid, why alert them unnecessarily to the teachings of the profit Muhammad? They will find out soon enough when the call for jihad comes…

Some comments:

“Islam prohibits ratting out against ‘muslim brothers’. Thus, a ‘muslim brother’ enjoys full protection from the umma under Islam.”

* For me, moderate Muslims are arguably a greater menace than radical Muslims precisely because they put a happy face on Islam for different reasons—-they actually fool themselves into thinking Islam is a good thing; they are too afraid to speak out and therefore spout soothing nothings about their faith; they believe Islam can evolve into a kinder, more understanding religion (it can’t); they’re hedging their bets, etc.—-and thus deceive way too many non-Muslims into thinking that a good religion has been hijacked, when in fact a bad religion has been obfuscated. Would that all Muslims were radicals (i.e., true Muslims) because then it would be far easier for all non-believers to see the rot that lies within.

Iran’s Rageboy Attacks Israel (Again)

poison_dwarf_2.jpg

Israel “cannot continue its life” – sez Ahmed-in-jihad

“Iran can help secure Iraq , Israel is cruel-”

Morsels of wisdom from the deluded one. Could it be that he is even more deluded than his prophet Mohammed ever was?

(CNN- Caliphate News Networkx) — Iran wants “peace and friendship for all,” the country’s president said Wednesday while again denying Western assertions his nation is pursuing nuclear weapons and trying to destabilize Iraq.

But Mahmoud Ahmadinejad took a hard line against Israel, calling it “an invader” and saying it “cannot continue its life.”

So much for peace and friendship for all.

Asked if Iran had launched a proxy war in Iraq — something the U.S. ambassador and top military commander there both asserted this week — Ahmadinejad said the United States is merely seeking a scapegoat for its failing campaign in Iraq.

“Forces have come into Iraq and destroyed the security, and many people are killed,” the Iranian president told Britain’s ITN during an interview in the garden of the Iranian presidential palace in Tehran.

“And there are some claims that may seem very funny and ridiculous. Those who have lots of weaponry and warfare and thousands of soldiers — if they are defeated, they blame others. There is no way to escape for peace.”

Uh, say what? Read the last line again

In regard to Israel, which Ahmadinejad has said should be politically “wiped off the map,” the Iranian president said there is a way to deal with the Jewish state without violence.

Giving as an example the dissolution of the Soviet Union — which he said came about “without war” — Ahmadinejad suggested that “everything would be solved” if the Palestinian people were allowed to vote on their fate.

However, his hard-line rhetoric resurfaced when Ahmadinejad said Israel “cannot continue its life.”

Taking up where the the nazis left off.

“Israel is an invader and is cruel, and it hasn’t got a united public. All other nations are against it,” he said. “We do not recognize them. They are attackers and illegal.”

The Illustrated PIG revisits the day of infamy, here

Brussels 9/11 demo: EUrabia in progress…

Fitzgerald: Islamophobia” at the UN

“When the world is compelled to coin a new term to take account of increasingly widespread bigotry — that is a sad and troubling development,” Annan said. “Such is the case with ‘Islamophobia.’ The word seems to have emerged in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Today, the weight of history and the fallout of recent developments have left many Muslims around the world feeling aggravated and misunderstood, concerned about the erosion of their rights and even fearing for their physical safety.”
— from a news item, quoting then Secretary-General of the U.N. Kofi Annan

The “world” was not “compelled to coin a new term” — it was Muslims who coined the word, and they did so deliberately. For that word so deliberately kept undefined is merely a weapon employed to deflect criticism, to label all those who may offer criticism of Islam and of its adherents, basing their criticism not on some blind prejudice, but on their own observations and study. Indeed, the entire Western world — its political leaders, its media, its university departments of Middle Eastern studies — have all been engaged in a massive effort to deflect criticism or disarm it.

It is despite all that that Infidels everywhere are coming to some conclusions about Islam, and the more they study, and the more they observe, and the more “Interfaith” gatherings and little Muslim Outreach evenings they attend, all of which end up being dismal exercises in Taqiyya and Tu-Quoque argumentation, the more wary, and critical, and indignant, and sometimes more, they become. The game is up.

From a Beslan school full of children to a Bali nightclub full of revellers, from Madrid subways to Moscow theatres, from New York skyscrapers to Najaf mosques (where Sadr’s bezonians tortured, killed, and stacked the bodies of Iraqis who had opposed their reign of terror), from Istanbul to India, the evidence just keeps piling up. And the evidence, too, of what is actually in the Qur’an and hadith and sira — and how many Infidels, a few years ago, even had heard of the “hadith” and the “sira,” or had any idea what was really in the Qur’an, or had ever heard of the Treaty of al-Hudaibiyya — is now online, and it can easily be read. And all the excuses, all the nonsense, can no longer be offered up — for we Infidels, fortunately, have the guidance of defectors from Islam, ex-Muslims such as Ibn Warraq (whose own three-part guide, posted at Jihad Watch, to debating Muslims, and how not to be intimidated or snookered, will for many prove invaluable).

Switzerland Means Business:

The Swiss conservative party SVP (no doubt vilified and smeared by the progressives as ‘right wing’ ) means business and wants to see foreign criminals removed, deported, kicked out.

In a world where making sense has become increasingly difficult, this seems to be a breath of fresh air.

Here’s the text translated:

In no other country in the world you find as many foreigners as in Switzerland. For the most part, they respect our laws. But too many foreigners abuse our hospitality and engage in serious crime, threaten our property, our wellbeing and our life.

This are the facts:

Mosques and other symbols of Islamic Imperialism

Andrew Bolt’s half-assed comment on the Italian resistance:

Mosques: Symbols of conquest and domination

Italy, the centre of world Catholicism, is resisting the rise of Islam – and in ways that aren’t always pretty:

Italy’s most senior Roman Catholic bishop has distanced himself from Catholics who oppose building a mosque in the northwestern city of Genoa, ordering them not to pray the rosary during a planned protest…

The demonstration against the mosque has been organised for yesterday night by the local branch of Forza Italia, the conservative party whose national leader is former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi.

The protesters plan to pray the rosary, which consists of the “Our Father”, “Hail Mary” and “Glory Be” prayers, while they march from a city square to the site of the proposed mosque.

The city of St Peter doesn’t want to be the city of Mohammed as well:

Authorities in Rome have blocked work aimed at converting a building next to a Catholic church into a mosque.

Al-Qaeda in Iraq leader offers bounty for murder of Swedish cartoonist

Still more assaults on freedom of speech:

* But don’t expect the nutroots to get the message. They will blame the Jooozzz, as usual…

mullahs-chase-cartoonist.jpg

CAIRO, Egypt (Agencies) – The leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq offered money for the murder of a Swedish cartoonist who recently produced images deemed insulting to Islam and promised a new offensive in Iraq during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, in a statement carried by Islamist Web sites Saturday.

*
In a half hour audio file entitled “They plotted yet God too was plotting,” Abu Omar al-Baghdadi also named the other insurgent groups in Iraq al-Qaeda was fighting and promised new attacks, particular against the minority Yazidi sect that was recently devastated by massive car bombs. “We are calling for the assassination of cartoonist Lars Vilks who dared insult our Prophet, peace be upon him, and we announce a reward during this generous month of Ramadan of US$100,000 (¤72,000) for the one who kills this criminal,” the transcript on the Web site said.

During Ramadan, because that is a time when a Muslim intensifies his commitment to Islam. “They plotted and God too was plotting” is from Qur’an 3:54.

Telecom equipment giant Ericsson spokeswoman Ase Lindskog said the firm had stepped up security in the Middle East.

“We have taken some concrete actions, like taking away our flags from buildings where we have our sales offices,” she said.

Appliance maker Electrolux’s spokesman Anders Edholm said the firm was trying to find out more about the threat and had not decided on any response.

Another Bomb Hits Police Housing Complex in Algeria

* Not a great deal really. Just another bomb that killed three people in the global jihad.

Why bother to report it? I might tarnish the image of Islam. These reports are not helpful at all. We have to look at the big picture! (sarc off)

By Aomar Ouali

ALGIERS, Algeria (AP) A bomb hidden in a bag exploded Friday outside a compound housing Algerian police officials, killing three people, security officials said.

The attack came as tensions ran high following two deadly terrorist attacks last week by al-Qaida’s North Africa affiliate, both against state targets.

The latest explosion hit in the town of Zemmouri, 50 kilometres east of Algiers, residents said. Eight wounded were sent to a hospital. Three of them later died, according to a medical official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

The bomb was hidden in a bag and placed at the entrance to the police housing compound, adjacent to an open-air market, the official said.

The attack hit about midway between Algiers and the coastal town of Dellys where a car bombing Saturday killed 28 coast guard officers. Two days earlier, at least 22 people were killed when a bomb ripped through a crowd waiting for the president in Batna southeast of the capital.

Al-Qaida in Islamic North Africa, the new name for a group long known as the GSPC, has claimed responsibility for both attacks.

The group has carried out a spate of recent bombings that have shattered the Algerian government’s efforts to restore calm after 15 years of Islamist insurgency.

President Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s government, a U.S. ally in fighting terrorism, has responded by intensifying military crackdowns on Islamic militants hiding out in remote scrubland.

Algeria’s insurgency broke out in 1992 after the army cancelled elections that a now-banned Islamic party was poised to win. Up to 200,000 people have been killed in the ensuing violence.

Spain (Al Andaluz) Zapatero Keeps Whoring For Islam

UN Meeting Promotes Alliance of Civilizations

* Hmmm. “Alliance of civilizations”- which civilizations exactly? Islam and the West? Sure, we are civilized. But Islam is stuck in the 7th century. Islam is barbarism, vandalism, terror and destruction, and never more than Arab imperialism.

But Zapatero seems to think all cultures are equal, like most socialists do.

From Islam Online:

PALMA DE MAJORCA, Spain, November 28 (IslamOnline.net & News Agencies) – A UN-sponsored meeting, currently in session in the Mediterranean resort island of Palma de Majorca, aims at defusing religious extremism and promoting a cross-cultural Alliance of Civilizations.

“We must stop up the springs of extremism, win the battle of ideas and principles, feed peace-seeking minds, strengthen the instinct of cooperation in our hearts,” Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero told the opening session on Sunday, November 27, reported Reuters.

“Former rivalry” between the Christian and Turkish empires “has been transformed into a positive association,” he said.

* How Zappie, how…?

“We want to close off the sources of extremism and win the battle of ideas and principles,” Zapatero told the high-level group launch meeting.

* Good luck, Zappie, good luck!

Zapatero said a UN-supported high-level group is due to report a plan by the second half of 2006.

* A target rich environment:

The group also includes former Iranian president Mohammad Khatamei, South African Nobel Peace Prize-winning Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Andre Azoulay, aide to Morocco’s King Mohamed VI, former French foreign minister Hubert Vedrine and outgoing Inter-American Development Bank head Enrique Iglesias.

It is co-chaired by Spanish former UNESCO director general Federico Mayor and Turkish minister of state and theology Mehmet Aydin.

The group should focus on mobilizing opinion leaders, artists, the media, sports figures, scientists and others, Zapatero stressed.

Zapatero suggested the alliance, promoted as a counterpoint to the Washington’s more forthright anti-terrorist strategy, idea last year in a speech at the UN.

It has found a receptive ear in UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, as well as Turkey and 22 other countries.

Spain to host OSCE conference on Muslim discrimination

The meeting will investigate the “roots of intolerance towards Muslims…'” Will the violence committed by Muslims in the name of Islam be on the agenda as one of the contributing factors, and possibly the most important contributing factor, of this intolerance? Will the imperialistic boasts by Muslim leaders about the impending Islamic conquest of Europe be on the agenda?

Bomb plot suspect worked at airport – report

With thanks to Mullah

* Again: Should we be surprised?

Anyone who went through European airports in the last 15 to 20 years would have noticed that the by no means underpaid jobs in baggage handling, screening, cleaning and other services have somehow, mysteriously, been ‘outsourced’- and if you look even closer, you’ll find that many of these jobs went to adherents of the ‘Religion of Peace’. Now don’t call me a conspiracy theorist just yet, just because of this: Paris airport bars 72 employees or this: Bilal Khazal, former Qantas baggage handler at Sydney airport indicted for jihad activities – you don’t have to be paranoid to see that members of a certain religious cult have infiltrated Western airports in disproportionally high numbers. Martin Chulov and Jonathan Porter reported in the Australian on a classified report marked “Highly Protected” by the customs agency about the country’s largest airport. The report states that work as airport security screeners is highly sought after “particularly by Muslim groups”-

* But relax. Don’t worry and put your life in Allah’s hand. You wouldn’t wanna be called an Islamophobe now, or would you?

ONE of three men arrested in Germany on suspicion of plotting major bomb attacks worked at Frankfurt airport, one of the alleged targets, according to the weekly Der Spiegel.

The report to be published Monday says Adem Y, a Turk, had been employed from 1997 to 2002 by German railways, working in particular in the department handling freight at Frankfurt airport station.
The three arrested on September 5, who also included two Germans converted to Islam, were suspected of planning “massive” attacks on facilities used by Americans, among them Frankfurt airport and the US military airbase at Ramstein.
Federal prosecutor Monika Harms said they were members of the Islamic Jihad Union, a little-known group from Uzbekistan with links to al-Qaeda.
The Sunni Muslim group said the aim of the planned attacks had been to put pressure on Germany to withdraw its soldiers stationed at the Termez base in southern Uzbekistan, according to the German interior ministry.
Germany uses the Termez base for its military operations in Afghanistan, where it has about 3000 troops serving in the NATO-led force.

The Islamic Jihad Union has been blamed for several suicide bombings which rocked Tashkent in 2004, including attacks on the US and Israeli embassies.
Der Spiegel said a total of 10 people were in the sights of German investigators, including one in Turkey, named as Attila S, and Nasmedin Zhalolov, an alleged high-ranking official in the Islamic Jihad Union said to be in Pakistan.
