Following are excerpts from an interview with Hamas Culture Minister ‘Atallah Abu Al-Subh, which aired on Al-Aqsa TV on April 9, 2008.

‘Atallah Abu Al-Subh: I return to this book – The Protocols of the Elders of Zion – time and again. The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is the faith that every Jew harbors in his heart. This book was published by Al-Nafiza publishers in Cairo. The research was conducted by Ahmad Hijaz Al-Saqqa and Hisham Khadhr, and the introduction was written by Dr. ‘Ali Gum’a, who later became, and still is, the Mufti of Egypt. Al-‘Aqqad once called this a “hellish” book, in his introduction to the translation by Mahmoud Khalifa Al-Tunisi, which is the most famous translation, which fate had me read in 1971 or 1972. I picked up this book again, so that I could present excerpts to readers throughout the Arab and Islamic world. The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and Their Biblical and Talmudic Roots. I’d like to read just one paragraph, before the producer tells me that our time is up. “It is well known that Ahad Ha’am was the spiritual mentor of [Chaim] Weizmann. It is not surprising that Weizmann admitted in his 1948 memoirs…” By the way, we may review his memoirs, Trial and Error, one day. “He admitted that Ahad Ha’am was his mentor, and he also admitted that The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is nothing but a wicked Jewish conspiracy to control the world. Weizmann unequivocally described this conspiracy as wicked. This book, which Al-‘Aqqad described as “hellish” in his introduction to the Mahmoud Khalifa Al-Tunisi translation… The Jews deny this book exists, but Weizmann admits it. Everything we see in the Arab region and around the world – the evil of the Jews, their deceit, their cunningness, their warmongering, their control of the world, and their contempt and scorn for all the peoples of the world, which they consider to be animals, cockroaches, lizards, snakes, and despicable maggots that need to be stepped on – Like [Rabbi] Ovadia [Yosef] said… The Jews say all these things, especially in the first of these protocols.

Former Capt. James J. Yee, a Muslim, was among the delegates pledged to Sen. Barack Obama who were elected by precinct representatives Saturday. He’s representing the state’s 9th Congressional District at the party’s convention in Denver in August.

A poll for the Independent Asylum Commission found that only 28% of people viewed “asylum” positively, and 33% viewed it negatively.

“The commissioners advise those wishing to communicate effectively with the public to avoid using the term ‘asylum’ or ‘asylum seeker’ if they wish to convey messages about people seeking sanctuary from persecution,” he said.

Ifath Nawaz, president of the Association of Muslim Lawyers and co-chair of the Independent Asylum Commission, said: “The public have to understand and support sanctuary and the system that provides it for those fleeing persecution.

WASHINGTON (May 20) — Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki’s office said Tuesday that President Bush apologized for a U.S. soldier shooting at a Quran, but the White House later said Bush expressed “deep concern” and stopped short of apologizing.

National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe said the president spoke to Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on Monday in one of their scheduled video teleconferences, which occur every week or two.

Three and a half years in prison for knife attack on rabbi

A German court ruled that a Muslim man who admitted stabbing a rabbi did not intend to kill him.

* How so? He attacked him and called him a ‘Jewish Pig’- didn’t he?

Rabbi Zalman Gurevitch, who was stabbed by an Afghanistan-born man on a street in Frankfurt last September, during the trial.
The man identified as Sajed A., a German of Afghan ancestry, was sentenced to 3 1/2 years in jail by the Frankfurt District Court for the September stabbing of Rabbi Zalman Gurevitch.

Sajed, who said he was acting in self-defense, was convicted of causing grievous bodily harm. Had he been convicted of attempted murder in a bias case — as the rabbi’s attorney, Rolf Doering, had argued — Sajed could have been jailed for 15 years.

The state prosecutor had asked for a minimum of four years, while Doering had asked for five years, eight months. 

Gurevitch, who required an emergency surgery after the stabbing, is planning to appeal the sentence based on the grievous bodily harm conviction, according to reports on the Spiegel Online magazine.

The rabbi testified that he had been on his way home from Sabbath services on Sept. 7 when Sajed shouted at him, “S— Jew, I will kill you,” and stabbed him in the stomach. Sajed later said he had been driven by fear of the rabbi, who was the larger of the two men.

 

Some witnesses said the two men had argued before the stabbing. Der Spiegel said this could not be verified because two Jewish witnesses who live abroad said they were afraid for their safety and would not testify.

The Frankfurt Regional Court on Tuesday morning convicted a 23-year-old German-Afghans to three years imprisonment for serious bodily injury. The accused stabbed the rabbi in September 2007 in Frankfurt.

After yelling insults at the Rabbi who was on the way to the synagogue the Afghan rammed a knife in his belly.

About an hour ago, just south of Nablus at the Huwwara crossing, IDF forces identified a Palestinian terrorist carrying an explosive belt as he attempted to enter Israeli territory in order to carry out a terrorist attack.  IDF forces then fired and killed the terrorist.

IDF forces noticed the Palestinian man acting suspiciously and subsequently ordered him to cease all movement. He slowly moved his hands in the direction of his explosive belt and consequently, IDF forces fired at him.

The terrorist was identified as a 20-year old Palestinian male

This attempted suicide attack is a part of an ongoing assault by Palestinian terrorists on Israel.  They are currently being questioned by security forces. Just yesterday, the IDF arrested 19 wanted Palestinian terrorists, and Palestinian terrorists continue to launch Qasam rocket attacks toward Israel from the Gaza Strip
