* Indonesian Muslims are laughing all the way to the next bombing. For most, the Bali mass-murderers are seen as ‘mujaheddin’, holy warriors. Their government treats them with velvet gloves because it fears a ‘backlash’ from the ‘radicals’. But of course these radicals are just a ‘tiny minority of extremists’- and Indonesia practices a ‘moderate form of Islam’, isn’t that right?

Bush refused to give Israel green light to attack Iran's nuclear facilities

 

The US refused to give Israel a green light to attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities when Jerusalem requested Washington’s support for such a move this past spring, The Guardian reported Thursday night.

According to the report, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert raised the issue in a meeting with USPresident George W. Bush in May, when Bush was visiting Israel for its 60thanniversary celebrations.

Bush, senior European diplomatic officials told the paper, responded that he would not support a strike on Iran, and added that his position was unlikely to change as long as he is in office.

What Is An “Islamophobe?”

 

*  Brigitte Gabriel analyzes this absurd, but very clever word,  which is solely invented to shut down free speech. Islam, as you know, is supposed to be above critique. But those who have gone to great lengths and learned about Islam, learned about the vile, perverted teachings of the Koran & hadith, have long come to understand that an ‘Islamophobe’ is a person who is well informed about Islam and can’t be fooled. An Islamophobe is a person who  knows too much about Islam.

For the past five years, I’ve been traveling the world in an effort to inform people about the threat of radical Islam.  I have often been accused of “hate speech” and “Islamophobia.”  The latest was in an article in the New York Times, where I was described not just as an “Islamophobe,” but a “radical Islamophobe.”  This made me question what those terms really mean.  What is the difference between “hate speech” and “free speech”?  What is “Islamophobia” and who are the true “Islamophobes?”

Denmark: Expel Islam from Europe

*  Growing resistance in the land of Mo-toons:

The controversial Danish People’s Party member of the European Parliament Mogens Camre spoke at the DPP’s annual meeting Sunday, calling to expel Islam from Europe.

“Islam cannot be integrated.  Islam will dominate Europe.  And Islam is incompatible with our values.  Therefore Islam will be thrown out of Europe.  This little land is ours, we forged it ourselves.  And we will govern it ourselves and decide ourselves who will live in it and how they will behave.  And we will fight until Denmark is again free,” said Camre, to loud applause.

One apparent bright spot amongst the general gloom is a piece in the Guardian in which the jihadi agit prop Inayat Bunglawala of the MCB tells us of his conversion to free speech and how he was wrong to condemn Salman Rushdie.

Readers of my blog (dianawest.net) know that over this past week, as a maelstrom of buffeting economic crises has sucked the air out of the news atmosphere, I have been all-but-transfixed by events unfolding in the German city of Cologne. With the unabashed fascination of the rubbernecker, I have watched in horror, combing online foreign press reports and a few favorite blogs (Brussels Journal, Gates of Vienna, Atlas Shrugs), as local authorities yielded their charge of freedom of speech and freedom of assembly — indeed, yielded civic space and civic peace — to a lawless band of violent leftists, who, in their weekend stint of mob rule, successfully prevented a political rally against the Islamization of Europe from taking place.

What’s more, these same authorities, including the mayor of this fourth-largest German city (about 1 million people), yielded to the mob happily and with much self-congratulation. Indeed, Cologne Mayor Fritz Schramma called the episode “a victory for the city of Cologne and a victory by the democratic forces of the city.”
