The Dutch Public Prosecutor’s Office is set to trample free speech rights in its misguided quest to prosecute Right-wing politician, Gert Wilders, for inciting hatred, discrimination and insulting language concerning Islam and Muslims.

The Freedom Party (PVV) is shocked by the Amsterdam Court of Appeal’s decision to prosecute Geert Wilders for his statements and opinions. Geert Wilders considers this ruling an all-out assault on freedom of speech.

Geert Wilders: “Apparently this is The Netherlands today. If you speak out you might be prosecuted. To participate in public debate has become a dangerous activity.”

“If I have to appear in court, not only I will be prosecuted, but also hundreds of thousands of Dutch citizens who reject the Islamisation of the West. In Dutch Parliament only the Party for Freedom is willing to speak up for the preservation of our culture and our many freedoms.”

The Freedom Party leader now faces legal proceedings that will probably take years to conclude and will also involve enormous legal fees.

“We depend on small donations. The Freedom Party is the only party in Parliament that does not accept any government funding. This court decision jeopardizes the very existence of the Freedom Party. We simply cannot afford the enormous legal expenses.”

“This is a black day for freedom.”

    Islamic supremacist groups in the Netherlands have kept up the pressure on lawmakers until they got the outcome they wanted. Hate speech, of course, is in the eye of the beholder, and hate speech laws are tools in the hands of the powerful that they can use to silence the powerless and crush dissent.

     Even though the Muslims in the Netherlands and elsewhere in the West present themselves as embattled victims of racism and “Islamophobia,” that is exactly what is going on here: this is just one part of the 57-government Organization of the Islamic Conference’s efforts to silence speech that they deem critical of Islam – including “defamation of Islam” that goes under the “pretext” of “freedom of expression, counter terrorism or national security.”

    If they succeed in doing this, we will be rendered mute, and thus defenseless, in the face of the advancing jihad and attempt to impose Sharia on the West.

    THE HAGUE, Netherlands: A right-wing lawmaker should be prosecuted for inciting racial hatred with anti-Islamic statements that include calling the Quran a “fascist book,” a Dutch court ruled Wednesday.

    Who Is Allah?

    Europeans love to mock the salience of religion in American society, but they won’t be laughing for very long. The de-Christianization of Europe in the name of “tolerance” is rapidly driving the spiritually shiftless continent into the arms of Islam. And now, amidst the postmodern theological confusion that defines contemporary Europe, even Catholic clergy are jumping on the Islamomania bandwagon.

    The latest post-Christian theological spectacle comes to us from the Netherlands (of Ayaan Hirsi Ali fame), where the Roman Catholic Bishop of Breda, Tiny Muskens, says he wants Christians to start calling God “Allah” because he believes such a gesture would promote “rapprochement between Christianity and Islam”. Appearing on Dutch television, the 71-year-old cleric said:
    “Allah is a very beautiful word for God. Shouldn’t we all say that from now on we will name God Allah? … What does God care what we call him?”
    Inquiring minds want to know: If the bishop really thinks the names “God” and “Allah” are interchangeable, why doesn’t he ask Muslims to start calling Allah “Yahweh”, the biblical name for God? But he won’t, because he knows they won’t.
    Indeed, just because Christianity, Judaism and Islam are called “monotheistic” faiths, it does not follow that Christians, Jews and Muslims pray to the same God. So for those pre-postmoderns who believe that words still mean something, a quick survey of archaeology, history and theology-accompanied by a dose of common sense-can answer the question of whether the Allah of Islam is really the God of the Bible.

    Scotland: Boy Scouts adopt Islamic pledge

    Does that include subjugating infidels — such as fellow (but non-Muslim) boy scouts? So now Muslims are opposed to the traditional boy scout pledge (surprise, surprise). Assimilation used to mean immigrants adopt the customs of the host (which seems logical since it is always the former who, of their own accord, seek residency among the latter). Now, however, it seems the opposite is in force: the hosts cater to the immigrants in the name of “multiculturalism” — or, where Muslims are concerned, dhimmitude.

    He said one could understand the reason for which the militants were attacking security forces but destruction of schools by them could not be justified.

     

    Actually, the logic of the “militants” is quite consistent: just as the government is not fully  implementing sharia law (and thus must be overthrown), so are females in school alien to sharia (and thus must be prevented).

    We posted a report here last week about Khalid Yasin, who was born in either Brooklyn or Harlem (depending on which source you read) and converted to Islam. Mr. Yasin spent some time in the UK and Australia, and then recently turned up in the Netherlands, where he is giving the Dutch government heartburn over the prospect of his incendiary preaching.
      

    A choice quote from Khalid Yasin:

    And how can you put a sacred trust in the hands of a non-Muslim? There’s no such thing as a Muslim having a non-Muslim friend. If you prefer the clothing of the kafirs over the clothing of the Muslims, most of those names that’s on most of those clothings is faggots, homosexuals and lesbians.

    Now it turns out that Khalid Yasin is more than simply a Muslim firebrand: he’s a good old-fashioned shyster in the venerable American tradition.  

    While he was in Australia, Mr. Yasin raised money from investors for the “Purpose of Life” Islamic TV channel. But, as it happened, these investments were obtained fraudulently. Once the money was in Khalid Yasid’s hands it was used for no tangible purpose, and, when evidence of his shenanigans surfaced, Mr. Yasin was obliged to depart Australia somewhat prematurely.
