Opposition frontbencher Greg Hunt distanced himself from Mr Andrews’ comments.

“Our approach should be colour-blind, ethnicity-blind, background-blind and simply focused on their ability to contribute,” he said.

“I believe in a diverse and multicultural Australia.” (Muslims believe in an Islamic Australia and are religiously obliged to make Australia Islamic/ed)

Mr Andrews told The Australian Online that it was clear that some Muslims were not “dispersing” into the community as other ethnic groups had in the past.

“I don’t think it’s happening as rapidly as with other communities in the past. I think it’s desirable,” he said.

The cover article of the latest issue of the Taliban’s official Arabic-language Al-Sumud monthly magazine envisions a post-war order in which a Taliban victory in Afghanistan sparks a pan-Asian anti-imperialist renaissance.

Strikingly, it endorses a vision of “Asian identity and political unity” over a pan-Islamic one.

The article promotes ties with China and Russia, and does not just pointedly ignore the Muslim Uyghurs and Chechens, but even rails against supposed Western plans to dismantle China and Russia. The author, also hints at one point that the Taliban will not let the Central Asian and Chechen jihadists stand in the way of its rapprochement with Russia. This pan-Asian outlook is constructed in opposition to the imperialist capitalist West; for instance, he writes that in the future white Australians will have the choice of either returning to Europe, assimilating into Asia, or being conquered as “lebensraum” for continental Asians.

The FBI (go look on its site) for example has a dedicated unit focusing on what they say is the long-term threat to instability in the United States – right-wing radical Christianity. I read in the Sydney Morning Herald today this item (see below) about a US-born Baptist Missionary based in Australia who gladly said that all Jews will go to Hell.

This is the era of mass media (global TV and the internet) and the bulk of western media loves scandal and thus the militancy and Islamists within the Muslim World are prime targets. I would say it is not Islamic principles at all that has caused this, though others will disagree, but the fundamentalism, the confusion between what is core Islam and local tribal and cultural habits and of course economic instabilty, poverty and corruption all has its points to play

Islam, like all religions in the world have a serious problem and it is called fanatasism, radicalism and fundamentalism.

A 73-year-old Queanbeyan grandmother who stole more than $370,000 in Centrelink payments will spend at least nine months in prison.

Wilhelmina Dominica Huntman, of Doeberl Place in Karabar, pleaded guilty to two sets of fraud charges in Queanbeyan District Court last week.

The case was adjourned and she appeared in court again on Wednesday.

Huntman said she spent most of the money on gifts for her grandchildren in Canberra and her son in Morocco.

The “hate crimes” bill approved recently by Congress could be a problem for broadcasters — most importantly, Christian broadcasters – now that it has been signed into law.

President Barack Obama has signed into law a measure that adds to the list of federal hate crimes attacks on people based on their sexual orientation. Congress approved the legislation last week as part of the $680-billion FY 2010 Defense Authorization bill. Appended to the hate crimes amendment was a statement ensuring that a religious leader or any other person cannot be prosecuted on the bases if his or her speech, beliefs, or association.

But Craig Parshall, chief counsel for National Religious Broadcasters (NRB), discounts that statement, pointing out that such laws in other countries have been used to silence people of faith. He believes the law approved by Congress is potentially dangerous as it relates to comments made about homosexuality or another religion.

Group aimed to create an Islamic state

Luqman Ameen Abdullah, 53, also known as Christopher Thomas, was gunned down after refusing to surrender and opening fire when the FBI raided one of the locations, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The men arrested in the raid today were Muslims who were part of a radical group aimed at creating an Islamic state under Islamic law, federal officials allege in a complaint today.  The men were part of a Detroit mosque where a leader called for “an offensive jihad,” according to the criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court.

Abdullah was the leader of part of a group which calls themselves Ummah (“the brotherhood”), a group of mostly African-American converts to Islam, which seeks to establish a separate Sharia-law governed state within the United States.

The Ummah is ruled by Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, formerly known as H. Rapp Brown, who is serving a state sentence in USP Florence, CO, ADMAX, for the murder of two police officers in Georgia.

“Transformative change” = a media landscape purged of the Right’s most powerful voices.

UNITED NATIONS (AFP) – US drone strikes against suspected terrorists in Afghanistan and Pakistan could be breaking international laws against summary executions, the UN’s top investigator of such crimes said.

“The problem with the United States is that it is making an increased use of drones/Predators (which are) particularly prominently used now in relation to Pakistan and Afghanistan,” UN Special Rapporteur on Extrajudicial Executions Philip Alston told a press conference.

“I would like to know the legal basis upon which the United States is operating, in other words… who is running the program, what accountability mechanisms are in place in relation to that,” Alston said.

“Secondly, what precautions the United States is taking to ensure that these weapons are used strictly for purposes consistent with international humanitarian law.

That is good news if it is true, but if it is true, why did the U.S. cosponsor with Egypt a UN Human Rights Council resolution calling for criminalization of incitement to religious hatred?

Manufactured Rage

Selective outrage: Islamic world fuming over German who murdered hijab-wearing woman

al-ShirbinyCoffin.jpgThe photo above is from a protest in Istanbul. Note the flag following the coffin, featuring the swastika and the Star of David. What does demonizing Israel have to do with this case? Why, nothing — but it is all part of the larger jihad against the West.

The selectivity of the outrage here is stunning. Alexander Wiens has apparently committed a heinous crime, and he should be punished to the full extent of the law. But to pretend that his crime is a manifestation of some pandemic “Islamophobia” is simply political manipulation. Muslim groups in America and Europe need “hate crimes,” because “hate crimes” confer victim status, and victim status confers privilege. Victimhood is big business: insofar as Muslim groups can claim protected victim status for Muslims in the U.S. abd Europe, they can deflect unwanted scrutiny and any critical examination of how jihadists use Islamic texts and teachings to justify violence and supremacism.

That’s most likely why CAIR and others have not hesitated to stoop even to fabricating “hate crimes.” They want and need hate crimes against Muslims, because they can use them for political points and as weapons to intimidate people into remaining silent about the jihad threat.

But note: while Barack Obama spoke in Cairo about his determination to protect the right of Muslim women in America to wear the hijab, no one is speaking up for the Muslim and non-Muslim women in Islamic countries and in Muslim families in the West who have been threatened or murdered for not wearing the hijab. No one demonstrated for Aqsa Parvez, murdered by her father in Canada for not wearing the headscarf. No one demonstrated for the women killed in Iraq and elsewhere for not wearing it.

The outrage here is selective, and nakedly manipulative.
