As the new rabbi at the Free Synagogue of Flushing, Michael Weisser faces a formidable challenge: revitalizing a historic synagogue in a neighborhood that has gone from being heavily Jewish to being populated almost entirely by Chinese immigrants.

Luckily for his new congregation, Weisser is no stranger to accomplishing the impossible.

When he was a cantor in Lincoln, Neb., Weisser confronted diehard Ku Klux Klan leader Larry Trapp, befriended him and eventually inspired the life-long racist to renounce hatred and speak out publicly against bigotry.

Three months before his death from diabetes-related kidney disease in September 1992, Trapp converted to Judaism under Weisser’s guidance, in the very synagogue that he’d once plotted to blow up.

“The truth is, human nature is good, not bad,” Weisser said in a recent interview.

US Justice dept fails to deport Megahead

(CNN) — An immigration judge on Friday rejected the federal government’s attempt to deport an Egyptian immigrant who had been acquitted of charges of illegally possessing and transporting explosives.

Youssef Megahed was released after being detained as a suspected terrorist for almost five months by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, in a politically explosive case that has pitted national security claims against charges of profiling and discrimination against Muslims.

A spokeswoman for the Justice Department’s Executive Office for Immigration Review, Elaine Kornis, indicated Friday that the government would appeal. However, ICE spokesman Richard Rocha later said the agency is reserving its right to appeal pending a review of the judge’s written opinion.

Megahed was released on his own recognizance, according to a court administrator. He needs to report once a month to a local ICE office and “not associate with known terrorists,” said Charles Kuck, the attorney for Megahed.

Americans are getting fed up with the war in Afghanistan. Americans are tired of the conflict – and being demonized by Muslims. (I think the demonization comes more from the far left f*kcwits in the media- we are our own worst enemy!) – Americans now feel that fighting on behalf of the Afghan people is no longer worthwhile. (Was it ever?) Afghanistan, like Iraq, is a failed nation like Iraq, Â Bangladesh or Pakistan, like Somalia or Algeria, the Sudan and so many Â Islamic disasters. That’s what happens under Islam. Because Islam doesn’t built anything, Islam destroys. Â There is nothing we can do to Â make these places livable, no amount of money, aid or soldiering can cure this disease called Islam. I have questioned the wisdom of these failed policies because Â It grieves me to see unbelievable amounts of money, men and materiel squandered, and as a result I got vilified or got booted off blogs wherever I posted these opinions.

Pattons “you don’t go to war to die for your country, you go to war to make the other bastard die for his country” is as appropriate and true as it ever was. But the idea to “win the hearts and minds of the Afghan peope”, Â (or any Muslims) is from the realm of the bizarre. To waste our scarce resources for “nation-building” in the Hindukush, to build mosques and madrassas, hospitals and dams Â and other infrastructure for our implacable enemy is sheer madness. I said it many times and I’ll say it again: whether we leave Afghanistan tomorrow, in 10 years or in 20, it will be as if we never been there. Democracy under shari’a? Our Taliban are better than theirs? You gotta be kidding, pal. The moment we established “democracy under sharia” this whole expedition was lost. The situation in Iraq is of course no better, and propping the totally corrupt, mustachioed Paki generals up with billions is Â insane. But so are our leaders who remain clueless about the Â goals of our enemy. It is the idiots who run the asylum, and the asylum is run like the Titanic: full steam ahead.

Afghanistan was supposed to be the good war — the one Democrats said we should be fighting instead of Iraq. We heard it over and over again during the presidential campaign, as if to exorcise the image that a Democrat wasn’t tough enough to assume the role of commander in chief. Candidate Comrade Obama repeatedly called the war in Iraq “a dangerous distraction” from the fight we should be waging and promised to “tak(e) the fight to al-Qaida in Afghanistan and Pakistan.” But with a new poll out showing that a majority of Americans now think the war in Afghanistan isn’t worth fighting, it won’t be long before Democrats decide to turn tail.

Question Number 5 for Solkhar: Contradictions in the Qur'an

A few samples of Quranic contradictions

Recently emailed to us by a recovering (i.e. former) Muslim, to highlight some egregious errors from a document all Muslims claim to be a ‘miracle’. Too bad the ‘miracle’ didn’t come with fact checking and copy editing.

The following Quranic ayats are taken mostly from the Quran translation of Maulana A. Yousuf Ali and Maulana Muhiuddin Khan:

How many days did it take to create the Heavens and the Earth?

Quran-7:54: Your guardian-Lord is Allah who created the heavens and earth in Six Days

Quran-10:3: Verily your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and earth in Six Days

Quran- 11:7: He it is Who created the heavens and earth in Six Days

Quran-25:29: He Who created the heavens and earth and all that is between, in Six Days

The above verses clearly state that Allah (God) created the heavens and the Earth in 6 days. But the verses below state

Quran-41:9 : Is it that ye deny Him who created the earth in Two Days?

Quran-41:10: He set on the (earth) Mountains standing firm high above it, and bestowed blessing on the earth, and measured therein all things to give them nourishment in due proportion, in FOUR DAYS…

Quran-41:12: So He completed them (heavens) as seven firmaments in Two days and …

Now do the math: 2 (for earth) + 4 (for nourishment) + 2 (for heavens) = 8 days; and not 6 days.

You can see similar mistakes in the verses: Quran-4:11, 4:12, and 4: 176 in inheritance law. In these verses one can see the total property after adding all distributed parts adds up more than the available property, i.e., the totals become more than 1 which are: 1.125 and 1.25. How come? A gross mathematical error, is it not?

Allah’s Days Equal to 1000 Years or 50,000 Years?

Quran-22:47: A day in the sight of the Lord is like a thousand years of your reckoning.

Quran-32:5: To Him, on a Day, the space whereof will be a thousand years of your reckoning

Quran-70:4: The angels and the spirit ascend unto him in a day the measure whereof is fifty thousand years.

So, which one is it? Is the day of Allah equal to 1,000 earth years or 50,000 earth years?

Creation of the Heavens and the Earth

Which one was created first? As you will see in the verses below, Allah at one time says that Earth was created first and another time he says that the Heavens were created first.

Quran-2:29: It is He who hath created for you all things that are on Earth; THEN He turned to the Heavens and made them into seven firmaments (Skies)….

Quran- 79:27-30: Are you the harder to create, or is the heaven that He built ? He raised the height thereof and ordered it; and He has made dark the night thereof, and He brought forth the morning thereof. And after that, He spread (flattened) the earth

Now, does it match modern science? Do you believe that, Earth was created first, and after that, God created Heaven? Does modern science tell us that? Or that there are SEVEN firmaments (layers)? Modern science tells us that, actually there is no such thing as a firmament or any roof over us, it is only space with no known boundary at all. These verses simply reinforce the ancient idea of a ROOF over us which is called the SKY! How funny!

Which one is correct?

Quran-2:256: There is no Compulsion in religion…

Quran-9:29: Fight those who do not profess the true faith (Islam) till they pay the polltax (jiziya) with the hand of humility.

Quran-9:5: Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them and take them captive, and besiege them and prepare for them each ambush…

Quran-47:4: When you meet the unbelievers in the Jihad strike off their heads…

Quran-2:191: And slay (kill) them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out such is the reward of those who suppress faith.

Quran-8: 65: O Apostle! Rouse the believers to the fight…(against) unbelievers.

Very often apologetics claim that, Islam is a religion of peace and there is no compulsion. Yet, punishment of an apostate in Islam is, of course, the death penalty.

Hey, whatever happened to Solkhar, the Islamo-troll? First he couldn’t wait for my 10 questions, and when it came to answering the first two he already made a runner for it.

The Koran states that the Jews believe Ezra is Allah’s son (9:30).

Fact is:

No Jews believe that Ezra is Allah’s son.

Could you do us a favor and explain this nonsense?
