Obama treatment of Netanyahu even shabbier than previously reported

President Obama’s treatment of Prime Minister Netanyahu was even shabbier than has been previously reported according to an account in the Times of London (Hat Tip: Memeorandum).

For a head of state to visit the White House and not pose for photographers is rare. For a key ally to be left to his own devices while the President withdraws to have dinner in private was, until this week, unheard of.

Yet that is how Binyamin Netanyahu was treated by President Obama on Tuesday night, according to Israeli reports on a trip seen in Jerusalem tonight as a disastrous humiliation.  More>>

Sadly and inexplicably, Fox News chose radical lesbian activist Susan G. Cole to represent Canada on one segment on the Coulter-In-Canada controversy. Here’s how Cole (who, as a playwright, has sucked on the taxpayer teat for most of her career) characterized my country:

We don’t have that same political culture here in (Canada). . . . We don’t have a 1st Amendment, we don’t have a religion of free speech. . . . Students sign off on all kinds of agreements as to how they’ll behave on campus, in order to respect diversity, equity, all of the values that Canadians really care about. Chemical engineering student Isra Hammad, 22, said as a Muslim, she finds Coulter offensive. But that doesn’t mean she should be gagged.”She should be allowed to say what she wants, then people can protest it,” Hammad said.

Earlier today, on Al-Jazeera, Osama Bin Laden threatened to start killing Americans taken hostage if America executes Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, whom Bin Laden described [1] as a “mujahid and hero.” Despite President Obama’s attempts to appease the Muslim world, nothing he’s done (yet) is good enough for either Ahmadinejad or Bin Laden, who said:

“Your master in the White House continues to follow in the footsteps of his predecessor in many important matters, like his escalation of the war in Afghanistan and the oppression of our prisoners you are holding – first and foremost among them the mujahid and hero, Khaled Sheikh Muhammad. The White House declared that it wanted to execute them. The day the US makes this decision, it will have made the decision to execute those of you who fall prisoner to us.” (Thanks, as ever, to Jeffrey Imm, who immediately alerted me).

But not to worry. I am sure that American left lawyers will fight so hard for their Gitmo prisoners that there may be no executions. On the other hand: If America fills up its jails with terrorists as Israel has been forced to do, why then, all the jihadists will be demanded in return for the release of the next American captured; yes, all of them for one, just as in the case of Israeli Sergeant Gilad Shalit.

We have also just been told that Islamist terrorists are surgically implanting bombs (not silicone) into breasts [2] so that female terrorists can blow themselves up on plane—while Al-Qaeda’s Mastermind threatens the American President with an eye-for-an-eye.

Tariq Ramadan arrives in the US:

Meanwhile, the American left is busily hosting the triumphantly arrived Tariq Ramadan, the grandson and heir to the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood and other smooth Islamist and pro-Islamist speakers. Next week, in New York City, at the Great Hall at Cooper Union (a place I once knew well), Ramadan will be speaking [3]together with Ian Buruma (see below), Dahlia Mogahed, and Joan Wallach Scott, with whom I once crossed swords [4] over Scott’s support for the boycott and divestment in Israel. I do not know if I’ll have the stomach to attend. Ramadan is not my problem, I know him for the snake he is. Rather, it would be the sight of so many Americans who’ve glamorized him, who are fooled by him, who have come to worship Death at his feet. I may recognize too many of them personally.

Beware of Copy Cats

Hussainy’s sister-in-law, Erlene Garcia, was also asked to convert before marrying her brother Wahid.

According to Hussainy’s friend, “Mezhgan is very reluctant about asking Simon to convert and she knows how controversial it will be.”

“Simon might be a big deal in the UK, but there are other people in the Afghan community in Los Angeles who her parents will be more afraid of offending. It would bring shame on their family and community if Simon did not respect their beliefs,” the friend added.

Obviously  Simon Cowell is not ashamed to leave the society that enabled him to join a cult which disables and stifles mental growth….

The real threat to civil discourse

The University of Ottawa disgraced itself on Tuesday night with its treatment of Ann Coulter, the U.S. conservative pundit. In a spectacle that earned international attention, hundreds of shouting protesters stopped Coulter’s speech from proceeding through pure physical intimidation.

The protesters had bigger plans than mere heckling. Just look at their venomous Facebook page dedicated to disrupting the event: Vanessa Alexandra Peterson wrote “I wonder what the security would be like. I want to throw rotten veggies and eggs at her evil Barbie mask.” Saif Latif wrote “somebody needs to throw a pie at her during her speech like they did at the University of Arizona,” to which Guillaume Pelegrin replied “I hope someone will get arrested.” More than 500 people on that group whipped each other up into a hateful frenzy, publicly spelling out their fantasies.

It was not anti-Coulter hate that shut down her speech at U of O. Hate is a human emotion, not an action. Nor was it mere hateful words. Words can be noisy, but they can only hurt feelings. Rather, it was the assessment of police, campus security and Coulter’s own bodyguard that there was too much physical danger to Coulter and the audience to proceed. As Ottawa Police Sgt. Dan Beauchamp said, “it’s a public safety issue.”
