Bloomberg ought to be ashamed of himself. He should be making statements about protecting Americans of all creeds, and calling the Muslim community in America to account for its tolerance of jihadists. There has never been a backlash against innocent Muslims in the U.S. It is a fiction that we only hear about when a Muslim plots mass murder of Americans. And then we hear about it endlessly, as if Muslims were the victims rather than the perpetrators. JW

When I look back on it now what surprises me is how disarmingly polite my attackers were.

“What are you doing?” asked one of the two, seemingly inquisitive, Asian teenagers who approached me on a quiet cul-de-sac in Bow, east London, shortly after 1pm yesterday.

“There’s been a photographer around here, do you know her?” he added.

I didn’t, but I explained I was a journalist for The Independent looking to speak to a man at an address in the area, who was standing as a candidate in the local elections, about allegations of postal vote fraud. “Can we see your note pad,” the boy asked.

I declined and then the first punch came – landing straight on my nose, sending blood and tears streaming down my face. Then another. Then another.

I tried to protect myself but a fresh crop of attackers – I guess between four and six – joined in. As they knocked me to the ground one of them brought a traffic cone repeatedly down on the back of my head.

Radical Belgian Muslims Turn to Jihadist Cleric Abu Muhammad Al-Maqdisi for Guidance

An individual who described himself as belonging to a group of Muslims agitating for the implementation of the shari’a in Belgium wrote to the senior salafi jihadi sheikh Abu Muhammad Al-Maqdisi with a request for guidance. Al-Maqdisi, who lives in Jordan, is best known as the mentor of Abu Mus’ab Al-Zarqawi; more recently he has provided guidance to the Islamic Emirate of the Caucasus,[1] salafi jihadis in Nigeria,[2] and probably to Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb as well.[3] In his reply, Al-Maqdisi told the Belgian Muslims to support the active jihads by providing funding, men, or however else they could, but counseled against carrying out attacks in Belgium as long as they are incapable of mounting a sustained conflict.

ITALIAN police fined a Muslim woman for wearing a full Islamic veil in a street in the northern city of Novara, possibly the first such incident in Italy, city officials said.

“City police ticketed her last night and she will have to pay a €500 ($712) fine,” Mauro Franzinelli of the Novara municipal police told AFP.

“As far as I know this is a first in Italy,” he said adding that the woman could appeal.

Novara, in Italy’s northeastern Piedmont region, is a stronghold of the anti-immigration Northern League, a key party in Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi’s conservative government.

The woman, a Tunisian national, was stopped by police officers outside a post office in the company of her husband. When her husband refused to have her identified by male officers they called in a patrol comprising a woman officer.

“City hall adopted a decree in late January banning the burqa in public places and their vicinity, which is based on a commentary by the interior ministry who received a copy of the draft,” said Mauro Franzinelli, who is also a local Northern League official.

Covering one’s face – with a veil or a motorcycle helmet – in public has been banned in Italy since 1975.

Dudley Mosque Protest:

Gangs of Muslims are roaming the streets with knives.

We have had a lot of feedback from supporters in Dudley, and all are saying the same things, the police are letting this happen.  Muslims are being allowed to walk around unchallenged with weapons.  Knives, bricks, you name it.  What is going on in this Country?  There are hundreds of police there, but none seem to be doing anything about them.  I will take this back if there are reports that hundreds of Muslims have been arrested for carrying weapons tomorrow, but i wont be holding my breath. Police have arrested two men from the English Defence League protest site. Officers removed the two males from the disused factory in Hall Street following the EDL roof top protest at around 3.30pm this afternoon.

Plans to build an £18million mosque in Dudley town centre have been scrapped, the Express & Star can reveal today.

The scheme to build a mosque with 65ft minaret on derelict land in Hall Street attracted huge protests, but has now been ditched by the Dudley Muslim Association.

A Muslim association in Meaux filed a complaint against Lies Hebbadj, the husband of the Nantes woman fined for driving while wearing the full veil, who defended himself by saying that having a mistress was ‘not prohibited in France, nor in Islam‘.

“We were shocked that this man would say that in Islam you can have mistresses. That’s completely wrong. To listen to him, our religion is immoral,” said Rachida Benamed, who represents the Association of Muslims in Meaux and the region, according to a report in Le Parisien.
