Medvedev says decision taken by Soviet Union in 1988 will not change but doesn’t clarify whether Russia recognizes ‘Palestine.’

Russian President Dimitry Medvedev said Russia will not change its stance towards Palestinian statehood during a visit with Palestinain Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday.

Medvedev said the Soviet Union had recognized a Palestinian state in 1988 after Yasser Arafat declared independence.

The Russian president’s announcement came after reports Tuesday speculating that his country would join several South American countries who have declared their recognition of a Palestinian state.

During a press conference held with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Jericho, Medvedev said “We made a decision then and we will not change it today.”

He also expressed willingness to take on a greater role in the peace process, saying: “From the establishment of a Palestinian state, everyone will benefit, both Palestinians and Israelis. The region will also benefit, all of the people in the Middle East would benefit. That is the goal we should strive for.”

New Jersey Governor Christie’s dirty ties to Hamas-linked Islamic supremacists

Cross another one off the Presidential timber list for 2012. A tale of yet another clueless or compromised politician: “Governor Christie’s Dirty Islamist Ties,” by Daniel Greenfield at Sultan Knish, January 16 (thanks to JW):

New Jersey, the Garden State, has just taken its first step toward becoming the Sharia State, with Governor Christie’s nomination of Sohail Mohammed, an attorney to detained terrorist suspects, to a Superior Court judgeship in Passaic County. The Sohail nomination continues Christie’s unfortunate pandering to the American Muslim Union and the Islamic Center of Passaic County.Passaic County has the second largest Muslim population in the country. And the Islamic Center of Passaic County is the state’s largest mosque, and it’s the only one run by an an Imam who was a member of the Hamas terrorist organization. But when the United States government attempted to deport Mohammed Qatanani, New Jersey’s pols and wannabe pols like Christie, quickly came to his aid. Despite the fact that Mohammed Qatanani was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, the organization that is behind both Al Qaeda and Hamas, despite his own guilty pleato being a member of Hamas, and despite the fact that even in the United States, he had defended a charity that provided funds to children of suicide bombers (this is done as an incentive to reassure terrorists that if they die their families will be taken care of), Qatanani was not deported.

Sweden’s integration minister Erik Ullenhag is meeting on Thursday with representatives from the Swedish Muslim community to develop a strategy for combating Islamophobia in the wake of the Stockholm suicide bombing.

The suicide bombing in Stockholm risks resulting in suspicions being cast against hundreds of thousands of Swedish Muslims, Ullenhag writes in a debate article in the Dagens Nyheter (DN) newspaper.

He argues that “it is unacceptable to blame an entire group for one person’s actions.”

The 1.5 gazillion muslims around the world  ALWAYS  apply collective guilt against the kuffars, Mr Ullenhag. Perhaps you should  draw a Muhammad cartoon, just to get a dose of reality……

FILLED with barbaric hatred and envy, Islamic extremists constantly plot the downfall of our civilisation. Tragically for us they have an ally in their lethal cause: the elite of the European Union. Just like Muslim zealots, the ideological fanatics of Brussels have nothing but contempt for our Christian culture and our national identities. They aim to obliterate our past, our traditions and our patriotism so there will be little resistance to their imposition of a political entity called the United States of Europe.

Now we have received another graphic illustration of the sinister mentality at the heart of the EU machine. With its usual enthusiasm for mass propaganda, the EU Commission recently sent out millions of 2011 diaries to schools, 350,000 going to Britain alone. Produced at a cost to the taxpayer of £4.4million, these self-serving notebooks are full of the usual mendacious drivel extolling the virtues of EU unity and  celebrating multi-cultural diversity.

The diary laughably proclaims that the European Parliament is “the people’s voice”, whereas in truth the institution is despised for its remoteness from the people and its serial abuse of our money.

It is believed that he currently plays a key role in the propaganda that the group directs at Western audiences.

An Iranian held up a placard on Saturday in the city of Goettingen saying “Germans are dogs”, provoking passers by.
