The funniest example of this is surely all those Sayeeds in Pakistan who claim descent from the Quraysh, the Tribe of the Prophet himself. It is as if in the middle of the Congo various Congolese took not just Belgian first names but Belgian last names and, speaking French to boot, insisted that they were descended from a long line of Belgians.

This is not about civility, this is about stupidity. This is about whacking the infidel into submission.

In comments carried by Egypt’s official state news agency, Secretary-General AmrMoussa also said he was calling for an emergency Arab League meeting to discuss the situation in the Arab world and particularly Libya.

“What is happening in Libya differs from the aim of imposing a no-fly zone, and what we want is the protection of civilians and not the bombardment of more civilians,” he said. (J’Post)

Eastern Libya, where the anti-Gaddafi forces are based, is a hotbed of anti-Americanism and jihadist sentiment. A report by West Point’s Combating Terrorism Center reveals that over the last few years, more jihadists per capita entered Iraq from Libya than from any other Muslim country – and most of them came from the region that is now spearheading the revolt against Gaddafi.

They stand to be the most likely beneficiaries of this “Crusade.”

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) – A man accused in the disappearance of a missing Ionia man refused to answer any questions on the witness stand in the trial of his accomplice.

Rami Saba was expected to take the stand Friday morning in federal court in the trial of Raogo Ouedraogo. Ouedraogo is charged with kidnapping and conspiracy in the disappearance of Donald Dietz in 2007. Saba goes to trial on the same charges in May.

Saba was called to the stand in court this morning, but refused to take the stand, saying that he “only answers to Allah.” Attorneys offered Saba deals of immunity in his case, but Saba would still not answer any questions.

Saba is planning on representing himself in his trial. He was told by a judge in February that he would not be allowed to invoke Allah during his trial. Also by not answering questions today Saba now faces civil and criminal contempt charges.

Just in case you missed it: the demand for ‘prayer space’ is just another grab for territory.

Same tactics as ever: 1.) Deflect attention by appropriating victim status, and 2.) try to silence the discussion by implying that anything that even potentially casts Islam in a negative light is tantamount to inciting hate crimes.

Foreign minister instructs diplomats to file complaint in UN over morning barrage of mortars from Gaza; follows complaint over ‘Victoria.’

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman instructed Israel‘s diplomats in New York to lodge a complaint in the United Nations against a heavy barrage of mortar fire from the GazaStrip Saturday morning.

Lieberman said that international support for the establishment of a Palestinian state is actually “support for the establishment of a terror state whose primary aim is the destruction of Israel.”

Over fifty mortar shells were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory on Saturday morning. Two Israelis were lightly injured from shrapnel. Hamas’ armed wing Izzadin Kassam Brigades, claimed responsibility for 10 of the mortars fired.

On Friday, Ambassador to the UN Meron Reuben on Friday filed an official complaint with the Security Council following the seizure of weapons from the cargo ship Victoria earlier this week. The complaint stated that the attempt to transfer weapons from Iran to Gaza by way of Syria constituted a violation of a number of Security Council resolutions.

The Israel Navy seized the cargo vessel early Tuesday morning in the Mediterranean Sea. It was carrying advanced weaponry, including anti-ship missiles that could alter the balance of power in the region. Israel believes the weaponry originated in Iran and was destined for Hamas and other terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip. The Australian Lawyers Alliance (ALA) (what a cool name for the Yuman Rites mafia gaming the system!) says asylum seekers could sue the Commonwealth for hundreds of thousands of dollars for any physical or mental harm suffered while held in detention.

The comments come after as many as 250 protesters at the Christmas Island Detention Centre threw rocks at federal police and burned down several accommodation buildings on Thursday night.

Authorities are reporting a quiet night on the island last night.

Barrister and ALA director Greg Barns is predicting some asylum seekers will seek compensation.

(I’m beginning to believe that nothing good comes out of Tasmania. Must be something in the water over there….– this is a strange fruitloop with equally bizarre views)

“Holding someone in detention in very difficult facilities particularly if they have mental and physical health problems for long periods of time can amount to cruel and unusual punishment,” he said.

“That certainly means that the Australian government would be in violation of those international human rights and people can take action.”

“If it is found that those people have suffered mental and physical harm and it’s directly caused by the conditions of detention and or the length of detention the Commonwealth can be liable for damages.”
