With that single sentence made to her Israeli hosts, Sarah Palin demonstrated a greater understanding of the problems confronting Israel than the collective wisdom of all the J.D.’s, Ph.D’s, and Masters of International Affairs in the Obama administration combined.

The question was profound, as simple as it were, because it addressed the narrative of perpetual Palestinian victimization and grievance.

First, it goes to the heart of Israel’s right to exist.  The recent trend, including among American Jews, is to acquiesce in the leftist-academic and Islamist view of Israel as a mistake and an anomaly, something which deserves to exist — if at all — merely by reason of historical accident.  Palin refuses to succumb to such a narrative, recognizing that the connection of the Jewish people to Jerusalem and Israel goes back over 3000 years.  For millennia Jews have prayed “next year in Jerusalem,” something no other people had done until the 1967 war led to the creation of a Palestinian national identity. The State of Israel as a Jewish nation owes no apology for its creation or continued existence. (there’s more, here)

The only thing that Jews should apologize for, is letting the Arabs take over Temple Mount, Nazareth, and Bethlehem. That requires a HUGE apology.

Boycotting the Jews, not those wanting to kill them

THE Greens have refused to retract a statement on their website that misleadingly denies they intend to push for a statewide boycott of Israel if they are successful at the NSW election on Saturday.

Fiona Byrne, the Greens candidate in the inner-western Sydney seat of Marrickville, posted the statement last week after The Australian reported she planned to push for NSW to support the anti-Israel global boycott, divestments and sanctions movement (GBDS) if she is elected.

Ms Byrne, the Greens Mayor of Marrickville, supported a successful push for GBDS on the council by her fellow Greens in January….

In her March 16 statement, Ms Byrne claimed the report in The Australian was “misleading”, “factually incorrect” and “a misrepresentation”. “The statement that I vowed to push the GBDS to state parliament is simply untrue,” Ms Byrne wrote. “I have never said that I will, nor do I have an intention to bring the GBDS to state parliament.

“Any reporting to the contrary is a misrepresentation and simply false. …”

However, an audio recording of a press conference on February 15 reveals Ms Byrne was asked whether, if elected, she would seek to have NSW “follow suit” with Marrickville on the GBDS.

“It’s the NSW Greens policy to support the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement, which is a global movement,” Ms Byrne replied.

“I would suggest that the NSW Greens would be looking to bring that forward at state parliament if we were elected.”

Hatred of the good for being good.  Did these people hatch from dragon eggs or do they actually have mothers?

UPDATE: The Greens party’s irrational hatred of Israel is especially sickening, one member of the VEXNEWS Investigations Unit has reported, given the strong record of environmental protection and improvement of the Jewish state.

Israel has truly “greened the desert” it inherited from the Brits. Indeed, Israel is the only country in the world that has more trees today than it did 100 years ago. The world-famous Jewish National Fund was founded in 1901 when Israel had only 3500 acres of forest land. It’s now well in excess of 200,000 acres, with the JNF planting over 240 million trees in its years of existence. It’s amazing story and a monumental achievement.
