Writing  at The Corner, Nina Shea recaps the latest in the saga of Terry Jones, who has been trying to take a peaceful, non-flammable protest of sharia and jihad to the sidewalk outside the largest mosque in America in Dearborn, Michigan only to be outlawed by the Michigan District Court. Like all other envelop-pushing cases, this latest incident serves as a stress test of the rule of law in our society. And, like most other such envelop-pushing cases,  it proves that the rule of law is strong –  only the law that is strong is sharia (Islamic) law.

The Michigan District Court’s egregious ruling against Jones is all about protecting Islam from criticism, rather than about protecting criticism from Islam, which is what US jurisprudence, not to mention the American Way, demands. It is sharia that the US court is enforcing.

(YBH) – Just when I thought the current team running the White House might have used up all its allotted mistakes comes word that President Obama failed to issue either either an Easter or a Good Friday greeting to the nation.

Now, let’s forget for a moment that these greetings, which presidents issue on many holidays and commemorations of events, are largely perfunctory and symbolic gestures that nobody cares about.

Until there’s a problem with them.

Christians flee from coming Islamic law

Muslim overthrow of African nations leaves Copts terrified (WND)

As Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood declares its intent to institute Islamic law, intelligence sources report al-Qaida is staging attacks in the Middle East nation, prompting concern that Coptic Christians soon will be driven from their homeland.

International Christian Concern’s Aidan Clay says the Copts’ attitude has gone from uncertainty to fear, which is driving many Coptic Christians to try to leave Egypt.

“A report from a very prominent Copt says he’s getting hundreds of calls a week from Coptic Christians who are trying to get out of the country,” Clay told WND in an interview. “That’s an extremely sad thing considering we’re seeing that throughout the Middle East. We’re seeing the quick removal of ancient Christian communities. Egypt has the highest Christian population of any country and a very old Christian church there.”

Clay blames the increasing pressure on the growing political influence of the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamic groups.

How desperate is the Gillard Government , with its boat people “policy” an utter debacle? Desperate enough to pass retrospective laws and to reinstate a limited form of the Howard-style Temporary Protection Visas it so stupidly abolished, claiming they were “inhumane”:

ANY asylum seeker convicted of a crime while in detention will fail the government’s character test and almost certainly be deported.

Changes to immigration laws will make it easier to send criminals back to their country of origin or, at least, prevent them applying for permanent protection visas.

But first, why should we infidels offer ‘protection’ to Muslims?  What are these people fleeing? It surely isn’t Islam. Or is it?

The Qur’an says three times that Allah transformed Jews into apes and pigs: 2:62-65; 5:59-60; and 7:166. In the link inside this piece is yet more evidence that, contrary to the bland protestations of “moderate” spokesmen in the U.S., all too many Muslims apply those hateful passages to Jews today. And the main story is even worse, as it shows Palestinian Christians manifesting such a thoroughly dhimmi mentality that they have adopted this usage, even though there is nothing remotely like this in Christianity.

The real purpose in levying jizya on them is to humiliate them to such an extent that, on account of fear of jizya, they may not be able to dress well and to live in grandeur. They should constantly remain terrified and trembling. It is intended to hold them under contempt and to uphold the honor and might of Islam.
